# scramble-reveal
A target string begins as deterministic wrong glyphs and resolves one character at a time, left to right. Every visible frame comes from one fixed-seed LCG table built before the timeline registers, so seeks in either direction always show the same string. The locked string then holds until the frame cuts.
3s authored, elastic HOLD, exit `none` by default.
## Variables
| id | type | default | notes |
| -------- | ------ | ------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `text` | string | `HYPERFRAMES` | Target string. Font size auto-fits to character count. |
| `accent` | enum | `green` | Text, prefix, and frame color: green rides `--brand`, blue rides `--accent`, violet rides `--accent-2`. |
| `style` | enum | `terminal` | `terminal` (framed shell with `>_` prefix) or `clean` (text only). |
| `exit` | enum | `none` | `none` holds until the cut; `fade` departs opacity-only; `up` is the curved arc departure (the pre-Wave-J default ending). |
## Mount
```html
<div
class="clip"
data-composition-id="scramble-reveal"
data-composition-src="./scramble-reveal.html"
data-variable-values='{"text":"DETERMINISM","style":"clean","accent":"violet"}'
data-start="0"
data-duration="3"
data-track-index="0"
></div>
```
Elastic root: no `data-width`/`data-height`; it fills whatever box the host clip gives it. Timeline registers under the literal `scramble-reveal` key.
## Notes
- Deterministic: fixed LCG seed `0x27c0ffee`, authored 30fps frame rows, monotonic left-to-right lock frames.
- The hold is a finite drift cycle followed by authored stillness, never a repeating tween.

<!--
scramble-reveal: HyperFrames video primitive (text effects / reveal)
A target string begins as deterministic wrong glyphs, then resolves one
character at a time from left to right. Every visible frame comes from one
fixed-seed LCG table built before the timeline is registered.
Variables:
- text (string, default "HYPERFRAMES"): the target string.
- accent (green | blue | violet, default "green"): text and frame color.
- style (terminal | clean, default "terminal"): optional terminal frame.
- exit (none | fade | up, default "none"): optional departure.
Envelope, fixed IN and OUT with elastic HOLD only:
IN_BASE = 1.65s, curved arrival and the complete left-to-right lock
HOLD = max(0, D - IN - OUT), subtle drift followed by 0.30s stillness
OUT_BASE = 0.45s departure when exit is fade or up, 0s when exit is
none (the default: the locked string holds until the cut)
If D is shorter than IN_BASE + OUT_BASE, IN and OUT compress together.
The timeline is never time-scaled.
Determinism: frameTable is computed exactly once during synchronous
timeline construction from fixed LCG seed 0x27c0ffee. Timeline sets only
read authored rows from that table, so repeated or reverse seeks produce
the same string for the same time.
Mount contract: the runtime clones only this template. #root fills the host
box, establishes the container query basis, has no data-width or data-height,
and registers one paused timeline under the literal scramble-reveal key.
