fix(dx): unblock lint and the Claude pre-commit hook on Windows (#6619)
- .claude/settings.json: the typecheck step piped through grep inside single quotes, which cmd.exe splits into a broken pipeline, so the hook denied every commit on Windows. On every OS, `|| true` also made the step pass regardless of type errors. Test-file errors are now filtered in JS and any remaining `error TS` line fails the step. - scripts/check-studio-copy-dashes.mjs: report paths with forward slashes so EXEMPT entries match on Windows. feat(skills)!: publish seven knowledge skills aligned with Studio and retire the workflow skills (#5651)
* refactor(skills): fold six domain skills into hyperframes and media-use guides
hyperframes-core, -animation, -keyframes, -creative and -studio move to
skills/hyperframes/{core,animation,keyframes,creative,studio}/, and
hyperframes-audio moves to skills/media-use/mix/. Each moved SKILL.md becomes
a frontmatter-free GUIDE.md so installers that scan recursively for SKILL.md
no longer see them as skills; the published list goes from 21 to 15.
Relative links, code paths and skill-name mentions are rewritten to the new
locations, the catalog surfaces, marketplace core-skills list, fallback core
set, module-copy targets and skills-manifest.json follow, and
`hyperframes skills update` now removes the retired skills (RETIRED_SKILLS)
when they are still installed.

* feat(skills): slim the core entries and give media-use a HeyGen and a free path
The four entries every run opens are rewritten to what an agent cannot infer:
hyperframes 21.8 KB to 7.7 KB, hyperframes-cli 24.8 KB to 6.9 KB,
hyperframes-registry 9.9 KB to 4.3 KB, media-use 9.7 KB to 4.9 KB. Detail moved
whole into references (routing close calls and creator edits, CLI pin upgrades,
catalog search tiers, CLI conventions and feedback reports).
- hyperframes: state table, routing, the render contract, a terminal work loop
(check, snapshot, preview before render), the desktop-app hand-off, and a
table of the folded guides.
- media-use: one table of HeyGen versus free local tools per need; HeyGen
sign-in, credits and the CLI's video-agent, avatar, clone, lipsync, translate
and clipping commands; every free path works with no account.
- scripts/check-core-skills.mjs holds entries and descriptions to budget and
checks every taught `npx hyperframes` command and path; runs in lint.
- Core entries are exempt from the formatter: its table padding cost ~1.5 KB
per entry on every run.
- Content tests follow the text to its new home.

* fix(skills): plugin runs skip skills update; media-use explains HeyGen sign-in and TTS setup
The smoke eval showed a presenter request never reaching media-use and the
free voiceover failing on a missing kokoro-onnx; plugin runs also ran the
skills update the plugin rules forbid.

* chore(skills): drop a committed Python bytecode file and ignore bytecode
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* feat(skills): align the entry with the Studio skills and keep the workflows' measured facts
The entry drops routing and the intent interview and carries the contract, the
editable-project rules and the work loop. Studio's format, runtimes, motion,
look and captions references come over for terminal use, frame presets move to
assets/, media-use gains Studio's mixing and local-command references, and
film.md and overlays.md keep what the workflow skills measured.

* feat(skills)!: retire the workflow skills and folded guides; publish seven knowledge skills
The skill pack now publishes exactly seven skills - hyperframes,
hyperframes-cli, hyperframes-registry, media-use, figma, slideshow and
remotion-to-hyperframes - carrying knowledge, not process. The eight
workflow skills, the folded domain guides and the routing/interview
references are deleted; their measured facts already live in the
hyperframes references (format, runtimes, motion, look, captions, film,
overlays) and media-use's mixing reference.
- bake-basemap.mjs and locate.mjs move to skills/hyperframes/scripts/
(bake-basemap gains --help); extract-audio-data.py moves to
media-use/audio/scripts/ for the caption motion reference.
- skills update: the eight workflows join RETIRED_SKILLS so existing
installs prune them (by lock attribution only, since their names are
generic); naming a retired skill reports where its knowledge went and
succeeds instead of failing as unknown.
- Capture prompts point at the hyperframes skill's references/film.md;
the live-map warning names the new bake-basemap path.
- Content tests that pinned knowledge are retargeted to the kept
references; tests of deleted workflows, scripts and process go.
- Catalog surfaces, templates and docs describe the seven skills.

* fix(skills): resolve the local.md captions link and allow capture's output files in citations
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix(skills): regenerate the skills manifest from tracked files only
The committed media-use hash included an ignored __pycache__ bytecode file present
in the local checkout, so CI's clean checkout hashed differently.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix(docs): restore generated catalog pages and docs navigation to main
Catalog PRs commit item sources only; CI regenerates the pages from the edited
registry sources. docs/docs.json is catalog navigation, so its Workflows group
rename is left for a non-catalog PR.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* build(cli): raise the CLI size budget for the skill references it bundles
The CLI bundles skills/hyperframes, which now carries the folded domain guides and
frame presets (155 KB to 1.08 MB in git). Budgets are the CI-measured size plus 5%:
packed 7526634, unpacked 22593213.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* test: keep repo-sweep guards meaningful after the workflow skills left
The last shell ffprobe caller and most root index.html examples lived in retired
skills. The shell detector is now pinned on a literal command line, and the
structure-rule sweep needs more than 5 roots (11 remain) rather than 30.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* feat(skills): slim figma, slideshow and remotion to the Studio shape; restore the storyboard board
slideshow 33.5 KB to 4.9, figma 18.2 to 6.2, remotion-to-hyperframes 11.0 to
4.9, each keeping the facts only it holds (the figma motion helpers, verify gate,
storyboard decoding and usage beacons; present and hand-off; the Remotion lint,
SSIM check and API map). The board page format from the storyboard recipe comes
back as hyperframes/references/storyboard.md: the desktop app's Storyboard tab
reads boards/storyboard.html by its frame, title and time classes. The entry and
the init template now say to snapshot the moments an edit changed before
replying, which the terminal eval found skipped in 22 of 38 runs.

* fix(skills): manifest without local bytecode; Studio's edit prompt names kept files

* fix(skills): render when the person asks for the file or for no stops, not only after approval
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix(skills): keep the voiceover carve in media-use; presets stage their own fonts
Review follow-ups on #5651:
- carve.mjs and its tests move to skills/media-use/audio/scripts; the audio
docs, mixing.md and two Studio comments point there.
- code-editorial's FRAME.md says to copy its bundled WOFF2s and add the
@font-face blocks, instead of promising the retired build-frame.mjs.
- media-use states the host rule before the HeyGen sign-in steps.
- storyboard-format marks transition_in as a note the agent builds itself.
- Two stale citations (creator-editing-recipes.md, sub-compositions.md).

* feat(skills): films that tell a story start from three storylines; maps use real imagery
Opus 5.5 arm D read motion.md and applied it, but its launch film was a
feature list (pain, three feature cards, proof, logo): film.md left story
to the model. And the map case never opened film.md, so it drew Natural
Earth outlines instead of baking satellite tiles.
- references/story.md: the generic half of Studio's moment-film story and
craft (one thing, three storylines with world and device, the hook,
beats, worlds, copy, brand, tells of a generated film). The person picks
a storyline, or the agent takes its recommendation when asked for the
file or for no stops.
- The entry's work loop names the storyline step for films over ~15 s; the
references table routes stories to story.md and maps to film.md.
- film.md points at story.md and gives maps and real places a section.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix(skills): story.md follows the entry: no voiceover unless asked
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix(skills): bake-basemap starts from a globe and stops waiting out its idle timeout
The Opus 5.5 map run spent 13 of its 38 minutes on parallel bakes that
stalled and 15 more recording 300 frames, after rewriting the script because
it could only start on a flat map.
- PROJECTION=globe with a seeded starfield and atmosphere, and FROM/PAN to
turn the globe to CENTER before the dive.
- Each frame polls for loaded tiles instead of waiting for an "idle" event
that had often already fired: 30 frames went from 198-219 s to 10-13 s
locally with byte-identical frames.
- Progress prints seconds a frame and minutes left; film.md shows the globe
call and says to run one bake at a time.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix(skills): render in the foreground; wait on a detached render's log, never pgrep -f
Both Opus 5.5 explainer runs started a detached render, then waited with
`until ! pgrep -f "hyperframes render"`, which matches its own loop: each
render took 88-117 s and the wait sat for the tool's full 10 minutes.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* feat(skills): route each kind of film; storylines carry look and sound; add review and sound
The entry routes by request (launch, explainer, music, data, vertical, 3D,
character) to a self-contained file under references/types/, and a film
over ~15 s now gets music and sounds on its visible actions unless the
person asked for silence. Each storyline names its look and its sound, so
picking one picks both; STORYBOARD.md frames carry `reads` and `sound`.
review.md is the whole-film pass: the check warnings, the review sheets,
seven questions to look for, P0/P1/P2 notes and REVIEW.md. motion.md gains
eases by role, six title entrances, a reading-time rule and nine measured
transitions; look.md a design plan before the first scene, with presets
kept for decks and named picks. story.md adds the second default that
generated design falls into, with what to do instead.
The blank template and format.md no longer teach the fade-and-slide-up
entrance on a dark canvas.

* feat(cli): check warns on unread lines, dead stretches, small type, empty frame 0 and silence
A coding agent cannot watch its film, so check now measures what a viewer
notices over time. A new `craft` section holds warnings only (exit 0
unless --strict), sampled on the dense 8 fps grid the overlap pass
already seeks, skipped for --range checks:
- line_unread: a reading-size line (>= 30 px tall at 1080) on screen
under 0.4 s for 1-2 words, else under 3/4 of 0.5 s + 0.3 s a word;
the film's last line needs 2 s. Short lines are re-measured between
samples to ~0.01 s before judging. Captions-track and
data-layout-ignore text are exempt.
- dead_stretch: more than 3 s where the keepsMoving liveness signature
does not change, outside the final 3 s and any data-hold element;
quiet when sweep_static fires or a whole-composition keepsMoving
assertion owns the limit.
- text_below_floor: text under 2.6% of the short side (28 px on 1080)
held 0.5 s, one finding per file listing every element.
- first_frame_empty: frame 0 paints only the background.
- film_silent: over 15 s with no unmuted audio or audible video.
Each message names the fix and the skill reference to read. keepsMoving
now also leaves the film's last 3 s (a still end card) out of its
static runs, so the two agree.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* feat(cli): snapshot --review captures a beat sheet, seam strips and a phone sheet
snapshot --review picks the frames that show a film over time instead of
evenly spaced ones, in the same single browser session:
- review-beats.jpg: one settled frame per scene at its start + 0.3 s,
plus one per timed data-beat="name" element, labelled time and id.
Scenes are the composition's top-level timed clips and sub-composition
hosts, read like `timeline` reads rows (captions and audio excluded)
and timed by the runtime's start resolver over the live page.
- review-seam-NN.jpg: frames at -0.2, -0.1, 0, +0.1, +0.2 s around
every cut (each scene start, and any scene end no scene starts at).
- review-phone.jpg: the beat frames at 360 px wide.
--composition scopes the review to one sub-composition; with fewer than
two scenes the beats spread evenly and a note says so. snapshot also
gains --json: one envelope with every frame's path and time and, under
--review, the scenes, beats and seams behind the sheets; progress moves
to stderr.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix(cli): craft warnings stay out of --strict; a hold gets a real next action, not a caret
Craft findings (unread lines, dead stretches, small type, an empty first
frame, silence) are judgment calls a film may break on purpose, so
--strict keeps gating defects only. The check reference no longer
suggests a blinking caret to keep a still frame moving.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix(cli): review spreads beats when every scene starts together; map credits skip the type floor
A map film whose basemap and overlay both start at 0 s got one beat
frame; the even spread now keys on distinct scene starts. film.md tells
agents to mark the imagery credit data-layout-ignore and back it, since
the new type floor flagged it on the first real run.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix(cli): review frames each scene at its middle too, not only 0.3 s in
On the first real explainer, 0.3 s into a scene showed a bare colour
field before its title entered. Each scene longer than about a second
and a half now adds a frame at its middle, so the sheet shows what the
scene builds.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* feat(skills): a film is built from a numeric SPEC.md, with defaults banned by name and a look test
Studied in full: flxrnc's Motion Lab (vague vs directed prompt), 0xMovez's
course, EianLu's riso skill, agentchengfeng's style samples and the two
Opus 5.5 guides. Their common point: adjectives are where the default look
lives, so the agent now writes SPEC.md before any scene (GOAL, OUTPUT,
TIME, LOOK, MOTION, SHOTS, BANNED, QA), with a number for every adjective.
spec.md bans the defaults by name, unless the brand or reference uses
them (a dark void with small things floating, glow and particles, the
cream-serif-mono-label look, fade-and-slide-up, corner brackets), and
grows that list after the first render. Each storyline gets a 3 s test of
its hero shot before the pick; a look is written as the rules of one
medium. Composition numbers: the hero fills 40% of the frame, one hero
move per shot, the shot's information in within 2.5 s then a held poster.
motion.md adds springs by damping ratio, shorter exits, overlap, stagger
and the beat grid; review.md reviews as a harsh director and grows BANNED;
vertical.md takes the riso skill's measured safe band; explainer.md the
shapes of information.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix(skills): story before look; every object reads as itself; posters only for info cards
The first spec-driven C02 swapped the dark default for a flat Swiss
poster, and the story went with it: two black bars nobody read as mirrors,
slogans instead of cause and effect, a storyline picked for its picture.
The spec now serves the story: a storyline is picked for the story a
stranger would follow, the look test asks first whether a stranger
understands what they see, and SPEC.md gains an OBJECTS line giving each
thing the material and details that make it read without a label. The
2.5 s held-poster rule is limited to information cards; in a story film
every shot causes the next. Explainers start from a person or situation
the viewer knows. Review names every object as a stranger would and
treats one that needs explaining as a P0.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix(skills): storylines are three films in words, each with a device and a form
The three storylines are pitched as text and the person picks from them;
nothing is built for a storyline before the pick, so the 3 s hero-shot
look test is gone. Ideas pair a device with a form, five or more first,
keeping the three that differ most, and the one stop states the rest in
an assumption line that names every paid item beside its free option.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* ci: list main's new embedded-captions hf-cli test among the retired workflow files
The merge with main removed it with the rest of the retired skill, and the
deletion guard rejects any removal it has not been told about.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix(core): keep the audio preset comment within core's size budget
The comment's new citation to media-use's mixing reference made the published
package 14 bytes larger than its budget, which sits at main's exact size.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix(cli): craft keeps its own 8 fps grid; comments back within the checks
Review on #5651 found that the merge moved craft onto the overlap pass's
times, which main caps at 180, so a brief line in a long film fell between
samples and line_unread missed it. Craft now builds its own grid at 8 fps up to
600 samples, as before the merge, and a 60 s film with a line shown for 0.2 s
pins it.
The Comments check passes again: REVIEW.md and STORYLINES.md join the files a
skill writes into a project, the comment lines this branch added come back
under each file's share at the merge-base, and the audio preset comment drops
a word the check reads as history.

fix(skills): keep changelog-video's stamped seams off the clip elements (#3946)
The committed changelog-video scaffold no longer survives its own gate. Three independent breaks, all reproduced against origin/main: 1. `gsap_animates_clip_element` (error severity, shipped this week) flags visibility/display/autoAlpha on any clip element. The skeleton's slides are `class="slide clip"` and every seam seam-stamp emits writes `autoAlpha` onto the ledger's selectors, so a film built from the scaffold fails `hyperframes check` before a scene is authored. Per the rule's own fixHint, each slide now holds an inner `<div class="swrap">`; the `opacity: 0` base moves off `.slide` onto `.swrap`, and the ledger names `#w-*`. 2. The title seam then fails as `exit-visible … op 0.00` while `exit-vector` PASSES. seam-stamp emits a zero-duration `tl.set(autoAlpha: 0)` at the cut, which immediate-renders at build time, so the exit `.to()` captures 0 as its start and tweens 0 → 0. Every other wrapper is saved by its stamped entry `fromTo(..., immediateRender: false)`; the title has no stamped entry. The scaffold now ships that entry, and build-spec says why the flag is required. 3. `seam-gate.mjs` defaulted `--server-cmd` to `npx --yes hyperframes preview` — the published package — while SKILL.md forbids `npx hyperframes@latest` for gate 1 and calls the repo-local CLI the contract. The two gates could measure different runtimes. It now prefers the repo-local bin, falling back to npx only for a copy of the skill living outside the repo. Also fixes gate 1's own command: `bun run --cwd packages/cli hyperframes` exits "Script not found" because `hyperframes` is a bin, not a script. Both mirror dirs updated; `check-skill-mirror` confirms byte-identity. Reported by the hyperframes session after the Sep 07-14 weekly build. fix(skills): keep the seam gate's preview attached so --project works again (#3463)
seam-gate verify --project has failed with "preview server exited early" since #3310, which made `hyperframes preview` pick its launch mode from the TTY. The gate spawns with stdio [ignore, pipe, pipe], so interactive is false and it silently took the background path: the launcher exits 0 before the server is serving (read as a dead server), and the detached server escapes the gate's process-group cleanup (leaking a preview per run). Pass the CLI's own --foreground opt-out in the default --server-cmd. Both skill mirrors updated. — Rames |

fix(hooks): pre-commit gate denies commit instead of ending the turn
The pre-commit build/lint/typecheck PreToolUse hook emitted {continue:false,
stopReason}, which halts the agent's turn — the dev had to type 'continue'
after every failed gate. Switch to a PreToolUse deny decision so the failing
commit is still blocked but the failure text is fed back to the agent as tool
feedback, letting it fix and retry without a manual nudge.

docs(skills): make captions non-optional in changelog-video (#2729)
* docs(skills): make captions non-optional in changelog-video The Jul 13-20 build shipped without captions because the pipeline had two soft failure modes: - Empty vo-words.json from the TTS provider was silently accepted, so align-captions.mjs had nothing to align. captions.json was never produced. - Step 5 tolerated the master-skeleton's LINES array staying empty. The build lint-checked and validated clean, but the caption rail rendered no text. This adds three hard gates on top of the existing scaffold: - Step 4 adds a whisper forced-alignment fallback so a missing TTS timestamp payload no longer breaks the caption pipeline. Whisper only supplies timings; captions still use the DISPLAY layer from script-tokens.json. - Step 5 flags an empty LINES array as a shipped bug and shows the exact IIFE-input shape it expects. - Step 6 adds gate 5: sample 3-4 frames across the VO window and confirm visible caption text on each. If any spoken window renders no caption, the build is red. Anti-patterns table gets two rows covering the empty-LINES and missing-word-timings failure modes. .claude and .agents mirrors stay byte-identical. Follow-up to #2669 (pre-build gate); paired with the v5 rebuild that retrofitted captions onto the shipped Jul 13-20 video. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 <noreply@anthropic.com> * docs(skills): bump changelog caption size to 32px for phone-screen legibility 25px reads too small at 1080² when the video is viewed on a phone without zoom. Bumped to 32px (font-size 25→32, top 1002→990, height 40→52, alpha .92→.94) so captions carry across small-screen playback. Change is CSS-only on the master-skeleton; existing per-scene chrome and layouts are untouched. Retrofitted the Jul 13-20 v6 build with the same values (identical CSS block) so the shipped video and the future default match. .claude and .agents mirrors stay byte-identical. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 <noreply@anthropic.com> * docs(skills): sync caption position refs to top: 990 across SKILL.md + build-spec Miga caught: the master-skeleton bump to top: 990 / 32px / height: 52 was not reflected in the SKILL.md prose or build-spec.md. All three files now name the same values so the doc, gate, and code stay consistent. Also clarifies build-spec.md's caption-rail line to point at SKILL.md step 5 as the source of the LINES-populated requirement. .claude and .agents mirrors byte-identical. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 <noreply@anthropic.com> * docs(skills): sync script-voice.md caption rail to top: 990 / 32px Third and final stale reference to top: 1002 / 25px — script-voice.md was still stating the pre-bump values. Now matches master-skeleton.html, build-spec.md, and SKILL.md. Also bumps the 'keep critical small text out' guidance from ~80px to ~100px to reflect the slightly taller caption rail. Full-directory sweep confirms zero remaining occurrences of 1002 or 25px across .claude/ and .agents/ skill mirrors. docs(skills): add pre-build gate to changelog-video SKILL.md
Adds an explicit Step 0 above the pipeline that spells out the concrete file copies (fonts, bgm, ffmpeg-encoded bg-pattern, master-skeleton.html) before any composition HTML is written. Extends the anti-patterns table with the three failure modes James caught on the Jul 13-20 weekly run: starting from a prior video's index.html, hand-crafting @font-face / WebGL shader / custom BGM, and shipping without a CloudFront invalidation after the S3 replace. Why: the previous SKILL.md said "follow references/build-spec.md exactly" in step 5, but that lets an agent read the build-spec after already writing composition HTML on the wrong scaffold. Ships of the Jul 13-20 video went through three off-brand iterations before I finally started from master-skeleton.html (Jake called v3 "trash" — the skill's assets, fonts, and scaffold ARE the brand, not the SKILL.md prompt on its own). The three added anti-patterns are the concrete traps: agents will keep starting from prior-project templates unless the skill explicitly bans it. Mirrors to .agents/skills/ (Codex CLI) and .claude/skills/ (Claude Code) byte-identical, per the skill-mirror gate. |

feat(skills): add changelog-video skill for repo-native CC + Codex discovery (#2552)
Packages Jake Moran's changelog-video pipeline (v1, validated end-to-end
by Home on the Jun 23-29 range) as a repo-native skill set that Claude
Code (.claude/skills/) and Codex CLI (.agents/skills/) auto-discover the
moment the repo is opened. No install step; run the skill against a
changelog markdown for a given git range and it produces a lint-clean,
seam-gate-green 1080x1080 MP4 (~45-60s, Annie VO, mock-UI visualizations,
caption rail) end-to-end.
Six skills added byte-identical in both mirror dirs:
- changelog-video (pipeline entry point)
- motion-doctrine (carries seam-stamp.mjs + seam-gate.mjs)
- cut-the-curve, captions-overlay, seam-craft, oversized-cursor
Layout:
- .claude/skills/ - Claude Code project-local auto-discover
- .agents/skills/ - Codex CLI project-local auto-discover (verified via
Magi's clean-home Codex 0.144.3 repro; NOT .codex/skills/)
Fonts, animated background (12 MB), house BGM (5 MB), lexicon, and
align-captions ship inside the skill dirs. .gitattributes routes only
.claude/skills/**/*.{mp4,mp3} + .agents/skills/**/*.{mp4,mp3} through
LFS — narrowly scoped so unrelated Player, Studio, registry, and
marketplace media stay put. HeyGen CLI auth is the one credential the
skill needs; Node >= 22, ffmpeg, and headless Chrome are documented
alongside in both READMEs.
.gitignore: rewrites .claude/ and .agents/ blocks to keep agent-installed
skill hygiene while re-including the six repo-native skill dirs plus
README.md.
CI:
- Extends changes.skills filter to match .claude/skills/**,
.agents/skills/**, scripts/lint-skills.ts, and scripts/check-skill-mirror.mjs.
- New 'Skills: project-native lint + mirror' job runs the extended
lint-skills.ts (schema-driven; required { name, description } + optional
{ license, allowed-tools, metadata }, name pattern check, description
length check) plus a new check-skill-mirror.mjs byte-integrity script
(24 mirrored files must match; README.md deliberately per-CLI).
- Wired into 'bun run lint' locally.
Frontmatter validator:
- Rejects unsupported top-level keys (catches category:-style drift).
- Requires name + description.
- Validates name pattern (^[a-z][a-z0-9-]{0,63}$) and description shape
(non-empty, <=1024 chars).
- Missing frontmatter block itself is a first-class error.
Also strips unsupported top-level 'category:' frontmatter from Jake's
motion-doctrine and cut-the-curve SKILL.mds (both mirrors), rewrites the
TTS invocation from ~/.claude/skills/media-use/... to the tracked
skills/hyperframes-media/scripts/heygen-tts.mjs, swaps npx hyperframes@latest
for the repo-local CLI in the gate step, and fixes a lint issue in Jake's
seam-gate.mjs (ternary-for-side-effect -> if/else).
Validated end-to-end by Home on Jun 23-29 (MP4 posted in C0ACCNHLG3U
thread 1784181166.041319). Independently reviewed R1/R2/R3 by Magi.

fix(hooks): scope pre-commit build check to target repo, fix stale symlinks (#2175)
* fix(hooks): scope pre-commit build check to the actual target repo
The PreToolUse hook matched any Bash command containing "git commit" and
always ran this repo's bun build/lint/typecheck from its own process cwd,
even when the command targeted a different repo (e.g. a sibling worktree
reached via a leading `cd`). Resolve the real target directory from the
command text first, and skip silently for any repo that isn't this one.
* fix(lefthook): force-add already-tracked files under gitignored paths
The format hook's auto-restage (`git add {staged_files}`) exits non-zero
for any staged file that lives under a gitignored directory (e.g.
.claude/settings.json, tracked despite .claude/ being ignored for worktree
noise), silently aborting the whole commit even though the file was
already correctly staged.
* fix(producer): repoint stale puppeteer symlinks to the pinned 25.x install
packages/producer's tracked node_modules symlinks still pointed at
puppeteer@24.43.1, which no longer exists after a fresh install resolves
package.json's ^25.2.1 range to 25.3.0 — breaking the producer TypeScript
build with a missing puppeteer-core module error.
* fix(producer): stop tracking node_modules symlinks
packages/producer/node_modules was accidentally swept into a prior commit
despite the repo-wide node_modules/ gitignore rule, and its ~30 tracked
symlinks silently drift from whatever bun install actually resolves —
the exact cause of the stale puppeteer symlinks fixed earlier in this
branch. CI always runs bun install --frozen-lockfile before building, so
nothing depends on these being pre-committed.

feat(capture): write AGENTS.md alongside CLAUDE.md + skill refinements from regression tests
Capture pipeline:
- agentPromptGenerator now writes AGENTS.md + CLAUDE.md (drop legacy
.cursorrules), matching the dual-file convention already used by the
_shared templates in hyperframes init. AGENTS.md is picked up natively by
Cursor, Codex, Gemini CLI, Windsurf, Aider, and Jules; CLAUDE.md covers
Claude Code. Both files share the same content — a capture data inventory
that points agents to the website-to-hyperframes skill.
website-to-hyperframes skill refinements (derived from 8-site regression test):
- Drop slash-command phrasing throughout SKILL.md and step-6-build.md so the
skill works identically across Claude Code (slash), Cursor (auto-discover
by description), and other agents.
- Remove stale HANDOFF.md references from SKILL.md step-7 summary and
reference table — matches the intent of the prior step-7 cleanup.
- step-5-vo: specify narration.txt filename convention (pronunciation-
substituted spoken text; distinct from SCRIPT.md the creative doc).
- step-6 self-review adds three rules derived from actual lint warnings
observed across the 8 regression runs:
- Every <template> root needs data-start + data-duration (catches
root_composition_missing_data_start/duration, seen in 4/8 runs).
- Caption exits need a hard tl.set kill after tl.to(opacity:0), or
per-word karaoke tweens can leave captions stuck on screen
(caption_exit_missing_hard_kill).
- No duplicate media nodes with identical src + start + duration, or
the compiler discovers them twice (duplicate_media_discovery_risk).
Housekeeping:
- .gitignore: add cursor-tests/, basecamp-video/, projects/, videos/ —
local regression-test scratch dirs that should never be committed.
- Remove two broken symlinks from .claude/skills/ that pointed to paths
which never existed in the repo (.claude/skills/ is already gitignored).

refactor(core): replace cheerio with linkedom to drop deprecated whatwg-encoding (#187)
## Summary - `cheerio` pulls `encoding-sniffer` → `whatwg-encoding@3.1.1` (deprecated), causing a warning on every `npm install -g hyperframes` - `linkedom` was already bundled into the CLI via tsup `noExternal` and has zero deprecated transitive deps - Rewrote `htmlBundler.ts` and `subComposition.ts` to use standard DOM APIs via `linkedom` - Added a `parseHTMLContent` helper that wraps HTML fragments in a full document structure (required for `linkedom` to populate `document.body`) - Removed `cheerio` from `cli` dependencies and tsup `external` list - Replaced `cheerio` with `linkedom` in `core` `optionalDependencies` ## Test plan - [x] All 411 tests pass (`bun run test` in `packages/core`) - [x] Full monorepo build succeeds (`bun run build`) - [x] TypeScript typecheck passes |

fix(studio): address caption designer PR feedback (#200)
* fix(studio): address caption designer PR feedback Fixes from review comments on feature/caption-designer (#180): - fix(generator): guard named colors in hexToRgba — "red", "transparent" no longer produce NaN rgba values - fix(sync): log auto-save failures instead of silently swallowing them - fix(sync): check res.ok before parsing caption-overrides response - refactor(components): extract Section, Row, inputCls into shared.tsx to eliminate duplication between CaptionPropertyPanel and CaptionAnimationPanel - fix(store): replace non-deterministic Date.now()+Math.random() ID with counter-based group IDs - fix(store): read selectedGroupId from state param instead of get() to avoid stale reads in batched set() calls - fix(overlay): remove cssScale multiplier from getBoundingClientRect coords — the browser already accounts for CSS transforms - docs(parser): add comment explaining the lazy ]; regex assumption Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.6 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(studio): address remaining caption designer feedback Overlay: handle both per-word spans (generator output) and grouped text nodes (existing templates). Wraps text nodes into individual spans on demand so the overlay can target words in any caption format. Property panel: add Typography (font, size, weight, spacing) and Color (color, active, dim, opacity) sections alongside existing Position and Transform controls. Timeline: move caption timeline into a dedicated flex-shrink-0 section below the main timeline tracks instead of inside the scrollable area. Gives it fixed 60px height that's always visible. Caption overrides: classify color tweens by comparing target color to the dim baseline instead of relying on timeline position order. This handles compositions with custom color tweens correctly. App.tsx: remove polling interval, rely on runtime postMessage events for caption detection. Add clarifying comment on why useEffect is appropriate (external event subscription). Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.6 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(studio): restore cssScale in overlay coordinate conversion getBoundingClientRect() on iframe-internal elements returns coordinates in the iframe's native resolution (1920x1080), not the CSS-scaled display size. The cssScale multiplier is needed to convert to parent window coordinates. The earlier removal was incorrect — it only worked at 1:1 scale. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.6 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(studio): fix reversed scaling on left-side corner handles Scale interaction used horizontal dx from start position, which goes negative when dragging left handles outward. Now uses distance from box center — dragging away from center increases scale regardless of which corner handle is used. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.6 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(studio): make rotation respond to horizontal drag only Rotation handle sits directly above the word, so atan2-based rotation barely responds to left/right movement. Replace with linear horizontal mapping: drag right = clockwise, drag left = counter-clockwise, 200px = 90 degrees. Vertical movement is ignored. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.6 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(studio): remove animation tab and typography/color from property panel Keep only Position (X, Y) and Transform (Scale, Rotation) controls. Remove tab switcher UI since there's only one view now. fix(studio, runtime, engine, compiler): 8 bug fixes — audio, render, timeline, Lottie, thumbnails, video render (#133)
## Summary
**Original 5 bugs fixed:**
- **Bug 1 — Audio silent after seek**: Added `Accept-Ranges` / `Content-Length` + `206 Partial Content` to the static asset server for byte-range seeking.
- **Bug 2 — Download 404 after restart**: Render list endpoint now registers on-disk renders into the in-memory job map.
- **Bug 3 — Timeline stops at GSAP end**: `resolveRootTimelineFromDocument` pads the GSAP timeline to match `data-duration` when the composition declares longer.
- **Bug 4 — Render stuck at 0%**: Store `jobState` reference (not spread copy) so async progress mutations reach the SSE stream.
- **Bug 5 — Lottie missing in preview/render**: Two fixes — (a) moved Lottie adapter before GSAP so `onUpdate` wins; (b) fixed bundler silently dropping external CDN `\<script src>` tags from sub-compositions (root cause: `$content(s).html()` returns `""` for external scripts).
**3 additional bugs fixed:**
- **Bug 6 — Blank thumbnails outside monorepo**: Implemented `generateThumbnail` in the CLI adapter using Puppeteer.
- **Bug 7 — Video empty in rendered sub-compositions**: Fixed `parseVideoElements` selector from `video[id][src]` to `video[src][data-start]` + auto-assign IDs.
- **Render errors**: Failed renders now show their error message in the renders panel.

## Test plan
- [x] `golden-lyric-video`: seek → audio plays from seeked position
- [x] Any project: render → progress advances past 0%, reaches 100%
- [x] Any project: complete render, restart `hyperframes dev`, Download → works
- [x] `intro-vid`: play → runs full 5s (not stopping at 3s)
- [x] `hyperframe-build-up-demo`: play → rocket Lottie visible during 0-2s ✅ verified
- [x] Outside monorepo: Compositions sidebar shows thumbnail images (not blank)
- [x] `bug.zip` project: render → video in polaroid sub-composition appears in output
- [x] Trigger a failed render → error message shown

feat(cli): scaffold CLAUDE.md and project-level skills into init
New HyperFrames projects created via `hyperframes init` now include:
- CLAUDE.md + AGENTS.md — teaches AI agents about skills, commands,
project structure, and framework rules (class="clip", timeline
registration, determinism). Agents know to invoke /compose-video
before writing compositions.
- .claude/skills/{compose-video,captions} — project-level skills for
immediate availability in the current agent session (global skills
require a session restart to discover).
- Updated next-steps output with `hyperframes docs <topic>` and a
link to hyperframes.heygen.com.
- Updated README with "AI Agent Skills" section documenting
`npx hyperframes skills` and `npx skills add` install paths.
- Repo-level CLAUDE.md for framework contributors.
