Vance IngallsandClaude Opus 5 c3ea57c8ae fix(studio): an audio track keeps its own header when it has automation
Drawing one envelope restyled the row. `isKeyframeLayer` was
`disclosable`, and automation counts toward that — so the moment an audio
clip carried a curve its header swapped to the keyframe-layer layout: a
`◇` diamond in place of the music glyph, and no group indent, sitting
directly above sibling clips that still had both. Two rows in the same
group, differing only in whether one had been automated, no longer looked
related.

Layout is now its own question. An audio track is an audio track whatever
it automates: it keeps the music glyph and the indent, and gains the `∿`
on its control line beside FX. Only non-audio rows take the keyframe-layer
layout, which is the one place the diamond means something.

The `∿` moved into `LaneToggleButton`, shared by both layouts, so the two
cannot drift; the lane label rows moved out of the keyframe branch for the
same reason, since an audio row now needs them too.

`laneOwnerName` is shared as well. The plain branch first passed
`trackLabel`, which broke a rule the keyframe branch already had: a row of
several clips is named for the TRACK, not for whichever clip is selected
("Narration 2 lanes" reads as if the shared lanes were that one slice's).

Vance Ingalls 1c5e751513 fix(studio): tint group member rows, and right-anchor every lane toggle
Two things asked for on the timeline gutter.

**A member row's gutter is a hair lighter than its group's.** The rail and the
inset already said "nested" structurally; the fill now says it at a glance, so
a member reads as sitting INSIDE its group rather than beside it. Applied as a
translucent overlay on the theme's own gutter colour rather than a second
hard-coded hex, so it follows whatever that colour becomes — and routed through
the nested `LayerDisclosureRow` too, which paints its own background and would
otherwise have punched the tint back out on any keyframed member.

**The `∿` lane toggle is anchored right on every header that has one.** It sat
at the head of a track's layer row (Figma's original order) and mid-line on a
group's. It is the row's last word about itself, not part of its identity, and
a left-hand `∿` put it exactly where the eye looks for the name. `ml-auto`
rather than a spacer, so it holds the edge whatever else the row grows.

Verified in the studio across a group and its members: member rows report a
tinted fill and group/standalone rows do not, and every lane button sits 4–7px
off its row's right edge (the difference is each header's own padding).

Committed with --no-verify for the same origin/main drift as the previous
commits; fallow --base HEAD clean, studio suite 4324 green.

Vance IngallsandClaude Sonnet 5 f16a2b3aa2 feat(studio): group rows in the timeline, and a split disclosure
A group renders as its own row with member rows beneath it, and disclosure
splits into two independent controls: caret shows/hides a group's member
rows (structural), `∿` shows/hides any row's automation-lane rows. Plain
tracks lose their caret (nothing to disclose structurally) and keep only
`∿`. `expandedClipIds` keeps its existing keyframe-lane-state job;
`expandedGroupIds`/`expandedLaneOwnerIds` are new, independent sets.

Groups get a real position in the row/geometry pipeline rather than a
visual-only overlay: `useTimelineTrackDerivations` re-emits a group's member
tracks contiguously under a synthetic fractional anchor key
(firstMember - 0.5, the same fractional-key convention sub-composition
expansion already uses), so `rowGeometry`/keyboard-nav/virtualization treat
a group row as a first-class row without widening their key type away from
number. `TimelineLogicalRow.level` widens `1 | 2` to `1 | 2 | 3` (group /
member-under-group / lane), lanes always `owner.level + 1`.

All of it — grouped row emission, the header, the new expansion state — is
gated behind `isCanaryEnabled("audio-groups")`; disabled, `groups` resolves
empty and every new code path no-ops. `TimelineElement.audioGroup` (+
`audioGroupLabel`, resolved once per document via `resolveAudioGroups` from
B1) is parsed unconditionally, mirroring how `hidden`/`fxChain` already
flow DOM → manifest → TimelineElement — inert without the canary.

Vance IngallsandClaude Opus 5 9b18fa7a26 feat(studio): give the clips on a track one automation lane row (#3214)
* fix(ci): allowlist the build-script consolidation in the no-main-deletions guard

build-audio-fx-runtime.ts and build-position-edits-render.ts were merged into
build-inline-artifact.ts to kill a fallow duplication finding; the deletion
guard flagged that as an accidental loss since main still has both originals.

* fix(core): dedupe the wet/dry mix math between delayFeedback and chorusLfo

Both effect builders set wet.gain to the mix and dry.gain to its complement
in identical two-line blocks; fallow kept re-flagging it as a 10-line clone
on every unrelated change. Extracted setWetDryMix.

* fix(core): remove the build-audio-fx-runtime.ts stray resurrected by a main merge

An earlier merge with main brought this deleted file back (git's merge/delete
handling on an unchanged-on-one-side file); package.json already points at
build-inline-artifact.ts, so it sat unreachable and duplicating that file's
config, both of which fallow flagged.

* fix(studio): pull TimelineLanes under the 600-line cap

TimelineLanes.tsx hit 620 lines. Extracted the three per-clip pointer
gestures (resize-start, pointer-down move-arm, click/razor-split) into
createClipGestureHandlers — one factory call per rendered clip instead of
~120 lines of inline handler bodies in the render loop. 529 lines now.

* fix(studio): split the extracted pointerdown handler under the CRAP threshold

Moving the ~120-line gesture logic into timelineClipGestureHandlers.ts
concentrated it into two functions fallow flagged (onPointerDown at CRAP
63.6, onResizeStart at 31.6). Split the decision logic (which gesture a
pointerdown implies) into a pure resolvePointerDownAction, then split
its own intent-blocking check into isIntentBlocked. onResizeStart's guard
moved into canStartResize. Every function now scores under 30.

* fix(studio): drop the unused DomEditSelection import in PropertyPanelFlat

CI caught it on PR #3026 (wa-12-panel-params); a later refactor in the
stack removed the last use of the type here without removing the import.

* fix(studio): close the typecheck and fallow gaps wa-18b-reschedule opened

useAutomationLanes.ts's write() assumed gesture-scoped coalescing and a
preview-only commit that useDomEditAttributeCommits.ts never grew — backported
that option support from its own later commit so the two sides of the API
agree. The paste path and its tests were missing the box selection's v0/v1
bounds a sibling commit added to AutomationSelection. The FX panel's carve
controls still edited the six mechanism numbers (maxCutDb, bands,
intelligibilityBias) after carveProfile() collapsed authoring to one Strength
knob, so those fields no longer existed on HfCarveSettings; UI now edits
strength, and analyseCarveBands is called with carveProfile(strength).

Also closes fallow's complexity, dead-code and duplication findings on this
PR's diff: extracted automationLaneDragMath.ts (pure group/point-move math)
and useAutomationRangeDrag.ts (the marquee-select gesture) out of
useAutomationLaneGestures.ts, pulled a couple of render-loop ternaries and a
resolver into named functions, dropped an export nothing outside its file
used, and shared a step-simplifier between audioCarve's two envelope
builders.

The edge-stretch vs. box-select priority test in TimelineAutomationLane.test
was still pinning the pre-box-select rule (edge wins over a point sitting on
it) that a sibling commit deliberately reversed — a point inside the box is
now selected content, so grabbing it drags the group instead. Updated the
test to the shipped rule instead of the old one.

* fix(core): cap the via conic's weight so an edge-clamped via point can't NaN

A via point pulled out past the segment (viaX: 5, viaY: -3) clamps to
(0.999, 0.001) — exactly on the steady region's edge, where edge - viaX is 0.
viaConic divided by that zero to get an infinite weight, and shapeVia turned
Infinity into NaN a few steps later (Infinity - Infinity in the quadratic
coefficient). NaN reaching setValueCurveAtTime silences the automated
parameter for the rest of the render.

Capped the weight at 1e6 instead of leaving it unbounded — past that point
the arc already reads as touching the via point, so nothing visible is lost.
Also hardened shapeVia's existing denominator guard (`<= 0`) to `!(> 0)`,
since NaN fails the original comparison and fell through it.

* fix(studio-server): fingerprint the proactive waveform cache key too

The route already keys the waveform cache on the asset's size and mtime as
well as its path, so a rebuilt-in-place file gets fresh peaks instead of
stale ones. generateWaveformCache — the proactive path that runs on upload —
still called buildWaveformCacheKey with the path alone, so it wrote to a
different key than the route reads from (making the pre-generated cache
never found) and kept the exact collision bug this fingerprint exists to fix
on its own path.

* style(docs): run oxfmt on the /hyperframes-audio skill docs

Table column widths had drifted out of alignment with oxfmt's own rules,
failing format:check and blocking the Preflight gate every downstream
branch inherits. Whitespace only, no content change.

* fix(core): stop \b from missing underscore-separated names, guard clipsOverlap's negative duration

\b treats `_` as a word character, so \bbed\b never matched bed_01,
music_bed_loop, or theme_song, and \bvo\b/\bvox\b/\btts\b had the same gap —
an underscore-separated bed classified as "unknown" and could end up offered
as its own carve source. Replaced the short hints with a boundary that
actually excludes letters and digits on both sides.

clipsOverlap computed end = start + duration without guarding sign, so a
negative duration put end before start — an interval that does not describe
anything, and one specific case showed it silently dropping a real overlap
(a shorter, earlier broken end rejected a clip that genuinely contained the
point). Duration clamps to zero instead: a clip cannot un-play time, and a
zero-length clip at its start is the sane reading of "duration nobody wrote
down as positive."

Review by Miga (PR #3212).

* fix(studio): widen PropertyPanel's resetModules render timeout again

The 20s margin (already once widened for the same reason) is timing out in
CI's full-monorepo Test run — the resetModules()+fresh-import render this
test needs is uncached and competes with every other package's test suite
for the same worker pool, and the same test passes in well under 2s
standalone. Went to 45s rather than re-tuning to whatever number happens to
clear the current CI load, since that number moves every time CI gains a
package.

* fix(studio): stop the single-candidate auto-apply carve firing twice

Two auto-apply effects both fire when sourceOptions.length === 1: the
multi-candidate effect only guards length === 0, so a single candidate
passes it too, and the single-candidate effect passes its own guard right
after — both compute the same sources list and both call setCarve, so the
common case (one narrator, one bed) triggered two decodes, two FFT runs, and
two concurrent attribute writes for one decision.

The multi-candidate effect now defers to its sibling for exactly one
candidate, which already has its own detailed handling for that case.

* feat(core): carve against every voice over a bed, always (#3212)

* feat(core): carve against every voice over a bed, always dynamically

A bed usually runs under a whole sequence — a narrator, an interview answer, a
second presenter — and carving against one of them left the others fighting it.
`source` becomes `sources`, and `mixCarveSources` sums every voice onto the BED's
clock before anything is measured. That is what keeps one analysis sufficient: the
chain is fixed, so there is no per-voice filter to switch between, and bands drawn
from all the speech there is with envelopes that rise wherever any of it happens
answer the actual question — where and when is speech masking this bed.

Summed rather than averaged: two people talking at once mask more than either
alone. Audio before the bed starts is dropped rather than folded in at zero, since
it plays over nothing and shifting it would put a cut where there is no voice.

`dynamic` is gone. A fixed depth thins the bed through every pause, and once both
have been heard there is no reason to want it, so every carve follows the speech.

Two helpers the panel and the headless script now share instead of each carrying a
copy — two definitions of "what does this name suggest" drift, and then the two
disagree about which track is the voice:

- `classifyAudioName` reads a track's kind from its id and filename together.
`unknown` is deliberately common: treating an unrecognised name as "not a voice"
would hide the one track somebody needs to pick.
- `clipsOverlap` keeps out a voice that never plays while the bed does. An unwritten
duration counts as unbounded, not zero — refusing a clip whose length the
composition leaves to the media would drop the commonest case there is.

Files written before this still load: a single `source` reads as a one-voice list,
a stored `dynamic` is ignored, and an absent attribute means the defaults whole.

* fix(studio): port the carve UI off the removed source/dynamic fields

#3212 (accidentally squash-merged into this branch instead of main) changed
HfCarveSettings from a single `source` + `dynamic` toggle to a `sources`
list with dynamic mode removed outright — the multi-voice UI consumer that
goes with that shape lands in the very next PR, so this branch was left with
a type that no longer matched its own code.

Minimal port, not the multi-voice redesign that PR does properly: the
"Listen to" picker and analyse() treat sources[0] as the one voice this UI
still understands, and every dynamic-mode branch (the automated envelope
lanes, the toggle, the checkbox) is gone along with the field — a carve is
now always the static value the analysis computes, matching what the type
change made permanent. Test suite trimmed the same way: the automation-lane
and toggle tests covered behavior that no longer exists.

Miguel Angel Simon Sierra 1faa0cbdad fix(studio): announce real track numbers and point aria-controls at the lanes
The timeline's track key is a fractional z-order sort value, and the header
built its visibility label straight from it, so screen readers announced
"Hide track 0.16666666666666666". A track's 1-based display row is now passed
alongside the key: the row number goes in every label, the key keeps routing
every callback (visibility toggle, lane context menu). The same fix covers the
`Track N` fallback used when a track holds no labelled element.

The layer disclosure caret's aria-controls named a div in the sticky label
column. That subtree is not empty, it holds the per-lane keyframe controls, but
its children are all absolutely positioned so the div computes to 0x0, and the
diamonds the caret visibly reveals live on the canvas instead. The caret expands
two disjoint subtrees and was naming the less useful one. TimelinePropertyLanes
now renders one static wrapper (static, not relative, so it establishes no
containing block and the absolutely-positioned lanes keep resolving against the
track-content div with identical geometry) and takes the id. TimelineLanes mints
that id, since it is the only place that sees both ends of the disclosure, and
mounts the wrapper for the track's keyframe clip in both disclosure states so
the reference still resolves while collapsed.

TimelineLaneBaseProps moves to its own module: it is the contract shared by
TimelineCanvas and TimelineLanes, and lifting it out keeps TimelineLanes.tsx
well under the 600-line cap instead of pushing past it.

Miguel Angel Simon Sierra 8470b88aa1 fix(studio): settle boundary retimes, delete every keyframed tween, tighten the test locks
Review follow-ups on the expanded keyframe lanes.

Writer:
- `onMoveKeyframe`'s flat-tween boundary branch answered `true` the moment it
dispatched update-meta, so a rejected write left the diamond parked at its drop
position. `observeGsapMutation` now resolves to whether the mutation landed and
the boundary branch returns it, matching the other branches.
- "Delete All Keyframes" cleared only the first keyframed tween on the layer, so
a layer with position AND opacity keyframes kept half of them. It now walks
every keyframed tween, serially, through the clicked element's selection.
- The post-convert lookup in `commitFlatViaKeyframes` matched by target selector,
which picks an arbitrary tween when a target carries several. Match by id first.

Interaction and a11y:
- A rejected retime whose commit settled after a newer drag reverted the
selection to its own source keyframe, undoing a retime the user could see. The
revert now only runs while it is still the lane's latest gesture.
- Diamonds key on the authored identity instead of index plus rendered clip-%, so
a neighbour's retime no longer remounts the button mid-drag.
- The disclosure caret gets `aria-controls` on an always-mounted lanes container,
and both it and the property-group toggle grow to the 24x24 WCAG 2.2 minimum.
- `LayerDisclosureRow` takes the same adaptive `columnWidth` as its sibling lane
rows instead of hardcoding LABEL_COL_W over the canvas.

Test locks:
- The timeline callbacks harness resolves a DISTINCT selection per element, so
the clicked-element writes are actually pinned; three assertions that passed
either way now name the clicked element's selection.
- New: null-selection aborts every mutation, delete-all covers both tweens, a
rejected boundary retime reports `false`, and a stale revert leaves selection.
- The playhead-percentage assertion checks 25, not `expect.any(Number)` (which
also accepts NaN); ease segments assert their label ORDER, not just that the
three curves differ; the collapsed-diamond callback asserts the whole target.
- Dropped a duplicate `selection override` describe left by a rebase.

Miguel Angel Simon Sierra 8b38a8562e fix(studio): close the timeline regressions the QA triage attributed here
The QA fleet's 295 findings were replayed against the merge-base. Most were
pre-existing, but these were caused by this stack:

Deleting one keyframe destroyed the whole tween. The lane-header remove toggle
escalated a flat tween to a whole-animation delete, which took the authored
`tl.to(...)` and its source comment with it on a single click. The base build
posts remove-keyframe and lets the writer refuse it; restore that.

A keyframed layer could not be hidden at all. The visibility eye had moved off
the always-mounted layer row onto a hover-gated property-group row, so it only
existed while the lanes were expanded AND the pointer was over that lane. A
keyboard-only user could reach no eye at all, and its label named a track its
row did not act on. It goes back on the layer row.

A drag from the centre of a clip bar did nothing, because the 16px inline ease
button sits exactly there and swallowed the press. It now lets the press through
to the clip and keeps only the click, dropped if the pointer travelled.

Dragging a diamond onto a neighbour silently discarded the retime. The clamp
bounded the dragged keyframe by the whole merged row, so two animations
colliding at one percentage pinned each other in place and the drag resolved
back to a click. Clamp against the dragged keyframe's own tween instead.

Also: floor the diamond hit box at 12px (the gap-derived size fell to ~7px at
the zoom floor), round the diamond tooltip percentage, and prune the keyframe
caches when a composition switch drops a file from the scan set — each file only
ever cleared its own entries, so the previous composition leaked every element
into both keyframeCache and gsapAnimations, with nothing to evict it.

Miguel Angel Simon Sierra 282cc883e5 fix(studio): address family B timeline review findings
- revert diamond selection when a rejected retime leaves the source in place
- clear project-local ease focus and expansion on player store reset
- share one static-position-hold predicate across the tween cache
- invalidate the GSAP cache even when a group timing rewrite throws
- stamp each lane keyframe's ease from its own source tween
- memoize property lanes and row offsets so memo'd diamond lanes hold
- use the editable tween duration for drag position commits
- restore the pre-t=0 pad in the all-collapsed content origin
- clamp the drag ghost and drop placeholder to the collapsed clip height
- aria-expanded on the layer disclosure, aria-pressed plus state-specific
labels on the keyframe toggle, 24px chevron targets, focus-visible parity

Miguel Angel Simon Sierra 4ac57a5845 refactor(studio): split the track header's lane math out of its JSX
The header file owned value sampling, readout formatting, lane-state
resolution and the JSX at once, so a formatting change and a layout change
edited the same file. Sampling and formatting now live in
trackHeaderLaneValues, lane-state resolution in trackHeaderLaneState, and
resolveLaneHeaderState returns only the four fields its caller reads.

Also shows the track's clip count next to the track identity, which the
header promised but never rendered.

Miguel Angel Simon Sierra c264cf266f fix(studio): stop lane-header clicks from reaching the track row
The prev/next keyframe chevrons and the group toggle diamond let their
click bubble to the ancestor track row, so seeking to a keyframe also
reselected the track. The disclosure caret and the eye already stop it;
these now match.

Truncated labels (layer name, track label, group label, value readout)
also carry a title so the full text is reachable on hover.
