docs: Studio app light palette, plus movable film rows and stacked remix shelves on Inspiration (#6414)
* docs: light mode in the studio app's palette Light mode takes the Studio app light palette (packages/desktop index.css) instead of the hyperframes.dev beige ground: paper, cards, ink levels and the light accent ink for links. Plain code text uses the page ink. Dark mode (Night) is unchanged. * docs(examples): film rows move by hand and remix shelves stack The Inspiration film rows drift by a script, as on the homepage (HyperFramesShowcase): drag, a sideways swipe or shift+wheel moves a row, and keyboard focus centres a card. Remix shelves are columns that each stack their cards, so cards of different shapes leave no holes. |

docs: an FAQ, a free-agents page, and 30 Days as a numbered list (#6382)
* docs: an FAQ, a free-agents page, and 30 Days as a numbered list The FAQ answers the questions people ask the docs assistant most, each linking to its page. Make videos with a free agent shows OpenCode's free models in the Studio app, local models through Ollama, and how open models scored in Code2Video. 30 Days of HyperFrames becomes one numbered row per lesson with its film on hover, and drops a link to a section that no longer exists. * docs: 30 Days previews honour reduced motion and have a play button Hovering a lesson started its film even with reduced motion on, and keyboard and touch visitors had no way to play it. Hover previews now follow the setting (read on the first render, and stopped if it turns on), and each film is a button that plays and pauses on purpose. * docs: 30 Days plays one chosen film at a time Choosing a lesson film pauses the one chosen before, so every button matches its film, and other rows do not preview while a film plays. * docs: one film at a time across the whole 30 Days page The page mounts three lesson lists, and each only paused its own films. A chosen film now plays with sound, and any unmuted start on the page makes every list stop its own films and drop its choice; previews stay muted and wait while a film with sound plays. * docs: 30 Days list in the docs palette The lesson list used fixed black and white tints; its rules, numbers, lines and film backgrounds now use the palette tokens, so they match the beige ground and the Night theme. |

* docs: one Troubleshooting page, four tabs, and the start pages folded * docs: keep how Studio app updates arrive on the help page Folding the Studio app troubleshooting page into /help dropped its "How updates arrive" section: the update button, Settings > Updates and the Mac menu route, the Automatic updates toggle, and what to do when an update stalls or cannot check. docs: the docs in hyperframes.dev's and the Studio app's colours (#6393)
* docs: the docs in hyperframes.dev's and the Studio app's colours Light mode takes hyperframes.dev's look: a still of its beige light ground, a frosted header, its ink, black pill buttons, heavy TT Norms headlines and a light-weight description. Every other colour comes from the Studio app: Mintlify's gray scale on the app's warm hue, article text and catalog greys on the same tokens, and code in the browser editor's own syntax colours. Dark mode is the app's Night palette. * docs: code in the browser editor's colours on the hosted build too Mintlify's hosted build ignores a custom code theme (the preview kept GitHub's colours), so the code-theme setting goes and each colour of the default themes (GitHub light, VS Code dark) is mapped by role to the browser editor's colour for that role. Code blocks and the fade under the copy button use the code token in both modes. * docs: map the dark control keywords to the editor keyword colour |

docs(studio): the browser editor in six pages, named the browser editor (#6379)
* docs(studio): the browser editor in six pages, named the browser editor * docs(studio): mute where the editor has it, and no solo control The audio pages still described a solo control and a group-row mute that the editor does not render. Muting is the speaker button on an audio track (Mute track / Unmute track), the same toggle on a selected clip, and the Muted switch; a group is silenced through its members' tracks. The audio reference drops its solo section for the same reason. |

The per-workflow guides now route through /hyperframes, so the sidebar group names what the reader wants to do rather than skills that no longer ship. feat(cli): HF_TOOL_CONTEXT artifact events and project lock for agent harnesses (#5520)
* feat(cli): HF_TOOL_CONTEXT artifact events and project lock for agent harnesses * fix(cli): serialize stale project lock takeover Use a short-lived break lock so only one waiter can remove a dead holder's lock. Cover the contention path with six real processes. * fix(cli): hold snapshot lock through finalization Keep the project lock while contact sheets, artifact events, and frame descriptions read captured files so another snapshot cannot replace them. * fix(cli): recover a project lock after the breaker crashes A killed takeover left project.lock.break in place, so later commands waited out the timeout even though both holders were dead. Reclaim that file only when its recorded process is dead, and compare artifact paths after the platform resolves them. * fix(cli): accept a killed breaker process with no signal name Windows ends the process without reporting SIGKILL, so the regression was failing before it checked that the leftover breaker can be reclaimed. * fix(cli): leave a killed project-lock breaker in place Reclaiming a dead breaker unlinks a name another process may just have created, so two commands can hold the lock. The timeout names that file and its pid and says to delete it to continue. |

docs: add Studio app pages for Mac and Linux (#5063)
* docs: add Studio app pages for getting started with the Mac app Six short pages in a new Studio app tab: get the app, connect Claude Code or Codex, make your first video, change it with the agent, export, and updates and troubleshooting. Screenshots come from a neutral fixture project. * docs: cover Linux in the Studio app pages The app ships a Linux AppImage beside the Mac app. Install steps get Mac and Linux tabs, platform labels name both, and troubleshooting lists where projects, settings and exports live. * docs: correct Studio app sign-in, install and edit details First launch asks for HeyGen sign-in on the first click; the Mac download is a disk image with an installer inside; Select shows Prompt to edit; the Connect screen sends the waiting request itself; billing, export quality and update wording match the app. Open Terminal is described for both systems. * docs: keep Studio app tables readable on phones Three-column tables scrolled sideways at 390 px and the data-folder table broke paths mid-word; they become two-column tables and a short list. * docs: quote Studio app messages without their periods Quoted UI text no longer carries its own period into a sentence or table cell, and the Mac install step says the HeyGen check can take a minute or two. * docs: match Studio app installer and update messages Quote the installer's HeyGen check, damaged-download and slow-check messages, and the stalled-update messages with Download it instead and Settings' Download the latest version. * docs: fix Studio app sign-in timeout and Codex setup wording * docs: name Framey's stuck-update line in Studio app troubleshooting * docs: use one Studio app message per update state A stalled update says 'The update is taking longer than it should' and a failed one 'The update didn't finish', in Framey's line and on the card alike; Try again starts the update over. * docs: say Try again starts a new update, not one from zero |

feat(runtime): data-vfx-chain — a seek-deterministic per-pixel effect element (#4306)
* feat(core): data-vfx-chain defs and chain parsing (mirrors data-fx-chain)
Mirrors audioFx.ts's shape for the per-pixel VFX chain: a versioned
JSON chain attribute (data-vfx-chain), a def registry with typed
params (number/enum/bool/ref), and parse/serialize/normalize helpers.
HF_VFX holds one def, fractal-noise, with a placeholder frag; the
kernel and its consumers (packages/core/src/runtime/vfx.ts) land in
Task 1.2/1.3 of the vfx-chain-runtime plan, so vfx.ts is added to
.fallowrc.jsonc's entry list for now.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* feat(vfx): displacement-map kernel (self-referential map)

* test(vfx): chain order is nesting order; preceding CSS effects are captured
...and following ones apply outside. The plan's one-line message for Task 2.4
is 105 characters; commitlint caps the header at 100, so the tail moved here.

* test(vfx): seek determinism and CPU-reference PSNR for fractal-noise
Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix(vfx): size the output canvas from the host's layout box, not its transformed AABB
Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
* feat(telemetry): vfx node count, capture class and types on render_complete
Threads vfxNodeCount, vfxCapture and vfxTypes from a static scan of the
compiled composition's data-vfx-chain hosts (mirrors the existing
compositionElementCount/colorGradingCount scan) through
RenderPerfSummary.drawElement into the render_complete event, next to
de_capture_mode. Exports chainCapture/parseVfxChain/HfVfxCapture from
@hyperframes/core's index for the producer to consume. The PostHog
dashboard tile is not created here — left for the coordinator.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
* docs(vfx): data-vfx-chain guide — element shape, capture table, Studio flag, known constraints
Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix(vfx): register chain hosts that arrive with a sub-composition mount
`initVfx(document.body, fps)` ran once, synchronously, three lines after
`void loadExternalCompositions(...)` — so every `data-vfx-chain` host that
enters the DOM only when a `data-composition-src` mount resolves was never
registered. An unregistered host paints nothing and reports nothing: no
`[HyperFrames] composition script error`, the `.hf-vfx-out` canvas keeps its
300x150 default, and `paintVfx` never even arms the page-composite flag.
Measured on a real multi-file export served raw: `#main-l5-text`'s output
canvas stayed 300x150 and `window.__timelines` never gained the sub-comp.
Re-scan in the loader's `.finally`, before `maybePublishRenderReady()`, so
registration precedes readiness. `initVfx` now releases the outgoing
registry's programs, capture textures and ping-pong targets first — the
output canvas hands back the same WebGL2 context on a re-scan, so the
previous pass's GL objects would otherwise leak.
Two browser cases in `vfxDeterminism.test.ts`, both against the real runtime
bundle: a host whose `.hf-vfx-in` IS the mount (already worked — the mount
replaces the wrapper's children, not the wrapper, so the registered source
node survives), and a host that arrives INSIDE a mounted sub-composition
(failed with `armed: false` and no error; passes now).
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix(vfx): runtime tsconfig typecheck passes
Under noUncheckedIndexedAccess, resolveCaptureSource's null return
widened VfxEntry.src past its VfxCaptureSource | undefined type; the
function is internal-only, so its return type moves to
VfxCaptureSource | undefined instead. Indexing PingPong.framebuffers
by a non-literal index produced | undefined against
WebGLFramebuffer | null, coalesced to null. No behavior change.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix(vfx): structural DOM predicates instead of realm-bound instanceof
vfx.ts checked `instanceof HTMLCanvasElement`/`HTMLElement` directly, which
returns false for inner-realm nodes when the Studio previews across an
iframe realm. domRealm.ts had no canvas predicate yet, so this adds
isCanvasElement mirroring the existing isImageElement pattern, then swaps
all three vfx.ts checks to the structural predicates the lint guard requires.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix(vfx): paint self-capture hosts under hyperframes snapshot, not only the engine path
`paintVfx(t, { engineMode: true })` armed the page-composite protocol and
returned, betting that every capturing chain runs under `frameCapture.ts`.
`hyperframes snapshot` (and check/compare/validate/layout, and Studio's
thumbnail capture) seek through the same `renderSeek`, never read
`__hf_page_composite_pending` and never call `__hf_page_composite_resolve` —
so a `self` chain painted nothing there, in silence, because its content
lives in a `layoutsubtree` canvas the browser never paints directly.
Engine mode now arms the preview-side capture as well and paints on whichever
completes first. A seek token stops a superseded async capture from repainting
a newer frame, and a registry-identity check stops it painting an entry
`initVfx` already released. `resolveVfxCapture` stays non-idempotent on
purpose: the engine resolves only after its own before-capture hooks have
mutated the DOM, so its capture is still the authoritative one.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix(vfx): an exporter-emitted .hf-vfx-out gets the box the spec fixes for it
findOrCreateOut adopted a canvas the exporter had already emitted without
applying the layout cssText, so it kept the default position:static;
display:inline and wrapped to the line AFTER the layer-wide .hf-vfx-src
canvas — painting a second, misplaced copy of the layer one full layer
height below the host. Measured on retro-wave #main-l6-text: .hf-vfx-src
rect top 315.1 h 93.0, .hf-vfx-out rect top 409.2, both style=null,
position static (ae-mcp findings Task 3.5b). Hosts with no emitted
out-canvas were never affected, which is why only this one host moved.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
* refactor(telemetry): vfx_node_count counts hosts, not chain nodes — rename to vfx_host_count
The field increments once per `data-vfx-chain` attribute occurrence, never
per node inside a chain's JSON, so the name promised something the scan does
not measure. Renames the internal `vfxNodeCount` and the wire property
`vfx_node_count` to `vfxHostCount`/`vfx_host_count` across the orchestrator
scan, the perf summary, the CLI render path and the telemetry event. No
dashboard consumes the field yet, so the wire rename costs nothing now and
would cost a migration later.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix(vfx): join the preview capture to the seek-completion barrier, not race it
`paintVfx` fired `capturePreviewThenPaint` and forgot it, so nothing the CLI
awaits waited for a `self` chain's paint. Every snapshot-family command
(`snapshot`, `check`, `compare`, `validate`, `layout`) seeks through
`seekCompositionTimeline`, which drains `window.__hfWaitForSeekCompletion`
and then allows one settle race before screenshotting — and only the
`"hf-seek"` event's `waitUntil()` could put anything in that barrier. The
screenshot therefore landed on however many hosts happened to have finished,
which varied with host count and machine speed.
Extracts the "track, untrack on settle, retain the first rejection" block
`dispatch()` built inline into an exported `registerSeekCompletion`, and has
`paintVfx` register the preview capture through it. Also awaits the per-host
paints with `Promise.all` instead of sequentially: N hosts cost about two
animation frames now, not 2N.
Measured on the pre-fix bundle with two `self` hosts, both output canvases
read `[0,0,0,0]` at the moment the barrier returned; they painted only
because the settle race that follows happened to be long enough. Both tests
added here fail on that bundle.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix(vfx): report WebGL context loss loudly instead of silently no-op painting
One WebGL2 context per `data-vfx-chain` host, against a browser cap that is
commonly 16 and shared with `colorGrading.ts`'s per-element contexts. A lost
context makes every later call on it do nothing, per spec — so the chain kept
"painting" a blank canvas with no error, which is exactly what the module's
loud-failure contract exists to prevent.
Adds the `webglcontextlost` listener pair's first half, following
`colorGrading.ts`'s precedent: `preventDefault()`, mark the entry, report
once through `reportVfxError`. The entry is then skipped by `paintVfx`,
`capturePreviewThenPaint` and `resolveVfxCapture` — silently, since the one
loud report already happened and repeating it per frame is spam.
Restore is left unhandled on purpose, with the reasoning in the doc comment:
`initVfx`'s existing re-scan already rebuilds every GL object, and a second
narrower rebuild path for `webglcontextrestored` would duplicate it. The
shared-context redesign the review floated is likewise out of scope here.

* perf(vfx): cache uniform locations at pass-build time instead of querying every paint
`setPassUniforms` asked the driver for `u_size`, `u_t`, `u_fps` and every
param's location on every paint of every pass, and `bindPass` did the same
for `u_src` on every bind. `buildPasses` already constructs each `VfxPass`
once at init, right after the program links, and a linked program's
locations never change — so they are resolved there now and read from
`pass.locations` in the hot path.
Same values, same `null`-means-optimised-out semantics (`gl.uniform*(null,
…)` is a defined no-op, which is what the per-frame query produced too), so
the existing vfx.test.ts and the browser determinism suite cover it
unchanged — both still green, the latter against a rebuilt runtime bundle.

feat(registry): text-match-cut (#4288)
* feat(registry): add text-match-cut — one text becomes another mid-move on a single 85 % curve Video primitive reversed from an After Effects tutorial (Editing Snapped, "The Match Cut Technique Every After Effects User Needs"), measured per frame at 60 fps. Both texts ride one keyframe pair, cubic-bezier(.85, 0, .15, 1) over 2 s, and hard-swap at the speed peak (1.0 s). A `mode` variable picks the property that carries the cut: scale down (the tutorial), scale up, tracking in, or a same-direction slide in four directions. Optional cyan-to-blue gradient sweep on its own 87 % curve, navy or transparent background. * chore(registry): integrate text-match-cut with current main --------- Co-authored-by: Jake Moran <jakemoran2011@gmail.com> |

feat(registry): extended-keyframe (#4281)
* feat(registry): add extended-keyframe, the never-fully-lands arrival with motion blur
A hyperframes:component. An element covers most of its move in the first fifth of the
duration and creeps the rest to the last frame (After Effects' extended-last-keyframe
technique), exits along the vector it arrived on, and carries shutter motion blur:
slides via the bundled feOffset filter smear, scale beats via a velocity-driven blur.
var a = attachExtendedArrival("#word", tl, { at: 0.3, from: { x: -1400 } });
attachExtendedArrival("#next", tl, { at: a.end, from: { scale: 0.35 } });
Direction and property agnostic (x / y / scale). The ease is exposed on its own as
EK.ease() for any tween, with EK.next() for sequencing and EK.gate() as a numeric check
(single velocity peak, no rises after it, tail above zero to the last frame).
registry/registry.json, docs/docs.json and docs/public/catalog-index.json regenerated
with the two generator scripts; they also pick up drift already present on main.

feat(registry): colorama-wipe (#4277)
* feat(registry): add colorama-wipe, a colour-mapped feathered wipe reveal for headlines
A hyperframes:component recreating the After Effects "shiny wipe": masked text +
Compound Blur + Colorama over a moving gradient, with a crisp duplicate fading on top.
One call per text element:
attachColoramaWipe("#headline", tl, { at, in, hold, out, cycle, feather, tilt, blur })
adds a single linear clock tween to the host timeline and paints the effect on two
canvases over the element's box; the element is hidden (visibility) with its layout
kept. All sizes scale from the element's font size. Deterministic: hash noise keyed by
frame, no Math.random, no clocks; seeks outside the window paint an empty stage.
registry/registry.json, docs/docs.json and docs/public/catalog-index.json were
regenerated with the two generator scripts as the contributing guide asks; they also
pick up drift already present on main.

feat(registry): week in merges leaderboard block (#4264)
* feat(registry): add a week-in-merges leaderboard block Authors race across the row at a speed set by their merge count, bouncing at both edges. * chore(registry): cover week-in-merges in the catalog search index * style(registry): format the week-in-merges block Wrap the lines oxfmt rejects so the format check passes. * fix(registry): regenerate the week-in-merges catalog payload The format pass left the committed payload off the generator output. * feat(registry): cap week-in-merges at twelve rows The block races at most rows_max authors, highest merge count first, and writes one line for everyone left out. feat(studio): edit a clip's speed ramp with a rate lane and presets (#4153)
* feat(studio): edit a clip's speed ramp with a rate lane and presets * fix(studio): keep the live preview attribute in sync with what gets persisted * fix(cli): snapshot picks the source frame through a rate lane and up to 10x hyperframes snapshot clamped the constant playback rate at 5 and ignored a rate lane in data-automation, so a sped-up or ramped clip showed the wrong frame. feat(catalog): add the seven 3D-motion pieces as installable registry blocks (#4056)
* feat(catalog): add the seven 3D-motion pieces as installable registry blocks Each piece ships as a registry block with a CDN poster and preview, a live catalog detail page and its source. Scripts travel inside the catalog payload (shared vendor libraries fetched once, item scripts inline, the one HDR as a data URI) because the docs host only serves fonts, images and JSON. NO_ESSAY_COMMENTS_OK: the long comment blocks are in vendored libraries and the ported frost source under registry/blocks, not hand-written here. HF_MAX_NONLFS_KB=6000: four hosted texture PNGs under docs/public/catalog/items are runtime assets the docs host must serve as files. fallow skipped locally: it audits against origin/main and this branch is stacked on an older main. * chore(catalog): regenerate gallery data and nav after rebasing onto main * fix(catalog): read the install manifest through the bounded project reader * fix(catalog): a script the inliner missed fails the payload instead of shipping a dead URL * refactor(catalog): the leftover-script check reuses the reference finder * fix(catalog): frost and glass textures load from the CDN and the iteration presets are gone * chore(catalog): regenerate the frost and glass payloads and nav * fix(catalog): frost and glass textures are hosted through the registry url field, not hardcoded * chore(catalog): regenerate the frost and glass payloads against the hosted texture URLs * fix(catalog): the hosted-reference rewrite refuses a bare name it cannot safely replace * ci(catalog): verify changed catalog payloads in headless Chrome and check the docs catalog * feat(catalog): every item page follows the shared layout with a Tune panel and tabs * fix(catalog): let the texture-mask item host its masks so its tile plays live * chore(catalog): regenerate item pages, gallery data and the texture-mask payload * chore(catalog): regenerate item pages after merging main * fix(catalog): declared-only variables get the Tune panel, Code and Docs tabs capped * feat(catalog): give the blend-difference caption a demo scene so its tile plays live * chore(catalog): live payload for the blend-difference caption * perf(catalog): heavy 3d pieces compile and draw before ready, not on the first visible frame * feat(catalog): the avatar promo card hosts its videos, audio and fonts on the CDN * feat(catalog): the avatar promo card tile plays live from its CDN-hosted media * chore(catalog): the avatar promo card plays live, no allowlist left * chore(catalog): shorten two comment blocks * chore(catalog): trim first-party comment blocks to the comment-check limits * chore(catalog): shorten two frost source comments * fix(catalog): the Docs tab renders as prose again, and the detail page honours reduced motion Frame-mode pages carry no prose wrapper, and the detail component sat inside not-prose, so the Docs slot's headings, paragraphs, links and lists had no styling at all. The slots now carry their own prose classes and the chrome around them keeps not-prose. The recorded clip also gets the reduced-motion guard the docs-snippet check requires, and the generator reads stability from the source metadata type so the scripts typecheck passes. * fix(catalog): docs-tab paragraphs render as blocks Mintlify emits paragraphs as inline spans, so two paragraphs in the Docs slot ran together. * fix(ci): drop the duplicate docs_catalog job output git's line-based auto-merge silently duplicated the outputs key when main and this branch each added it on non-adjacent lines during the rebase; oxfmt's yaml parser rejects the repeated map key. * fix(catalog): close four CodeQL alerts in the frost source * chore(catalog): allowlist the avatar-promo-card CDN asset deletions, format sync-docs-catalog check-no-main-deletions.mjs was rejecting 11 local mp4/font files this branch already deleted in favor of CDN hosting; scripts/sync-docs-catalog.mjs had one line over the 100-col print width from an earlier edit in this branch. * fix(catalog): detail tabs use docs prose spacing, Install first; previews skip no-WebGPU runners * fix(catalog): the docs tab scrolls with the page instead of a capped inner box * refactor(catalog): split the payload asset and verify scripts into single-purpose helpers * refactor(catalog): split the preview generator into single-purpose helpers * ci(catalog): fail when the committed catalog differs from generator output The docs host serves the committed catalog and nothing regenerates it, so a stale copy shipped silently. The catalog payloads job now generates into a temp dir and compares it with the committed tree. * chore(catalog): regenerate docs/public/catalog with the refactored scripts One full regeneration from an empty output tree with the current scripts. The tree grows from 58.4 MB to 65.1 MB. Two hosted assets are about 2 MB each (an avatar png and a wav); the same bytes are already committed under assets/, so HF_MAX_NONLFS_KB is raised for this commit only. * fix(catalog): run the catalog script tests under the runner they are written for The rebase put three node:test files in the vitest half of test:scripts, where they report "No test suite found". They now sit in the node --test list. * fix(catalog): a WebGPU item without an adapter shows its recorded clip and says why * ci(catalog): the drift check runs from a committed fetch mirror with no network Generation now serves every font and CDN script fetch from scripts/catalog-fetch-mirror and fails when a fetch is not in it, even if the caller swallowed the error. CATALOG_FETCH_MIRROR=record refreshes the mirror from the live network. The docs_catalog filter also watches packages/core, packages/producer and the mirror, and the 13 re-hashed font files are listed in ALLOWED_DELETIONS. * chore(catalog): clean up the temp font cache and sort the mirror index without a locale * fix(catalog): hide Tune when the clip stands in, time out the adapter request, share one check * fix(catalog): the adapter probe survives a sync throw and a hang; test the clip guard * fix(catalog): keep the adapter probe inside the component, Mintlify evaluates only exports * fix(catalog): run the detail and page generator tests in CI; no Tune flash while probing WebGPU * docs(catalog): credit vendored libraries and make each SKILL.md list what the block installs CREDITS.md names every vendored dependency with its upstream and licence, and flags the two leaf textures whose origin is still to be confirmed. Each SKILL.md Files table now comes from the block manifest and its install and render paths point at compositions/<name>/. A test checks that every path a SKILL.md names is a manifest file that exists. * fix(catalog): a declared WebGPU item passes verify by its manifest tag, not by console wording verify-catalog-payloads forgave a missing adapter only by matching the markup and the message, which library-reported errors and widgets never satisfy. The webgpu tag in the item manifest is now the owner: a tagged item ignores its page and console errors, an untagged one gets no forgiveness, and a marker payload with no html is listed instead of crashing the run. * docs(catalog): correct the credits per block and guard the mount and render paths CREDITS.md states the three.js version and vendored-or-CDN status per block, adds d3-delaunay, Clipper on the CDN and the Google Fonts loads, and lists every texture with no known origin. The SKILL.md test now also checks the mount and render paths against the manifest composition. * test(catalog): read each block manifest once in the SKILL.md file test The two checks shared a copied manifest read, which fallow flagged as a clone with a high score. * fix(catalog): commit the hosted item files a gitignore rule kept out, and check git not the disk The compositions/ and *-ad/ ignore rules matched folder names under docs/public/catalog/items, so 33 hosted fonts, textures and marks were generated but never committed and would 404 on the docs host. The rules now have a negation for that tree and the files are added. The drift check read the checkout, where git-ignored files still exist, so it passed locally and failed only in CI. It now unpacks HEAD with git archive and compares that. * fix(catalog): a tile keeps its poster until the composition has painted * fix(catalog): a tagged WebGPU item forgives only the adapter-absent error, and test the wiring The manifest webgpu tag now decides whether an item may lack an adapter, and the error wording decides which lines are that absence. Any other page or console error on the item, and every failed request, still fails. The per-item decision is one exported function the tests drive, marker payloads are parsed by a tested helper, and the SKILL.md variable counts are checked against their tables (cuboid-carousel said forty-nine for forty). * fix(catalog): the pinned group's posters load eagerly at high priority * fix(catalog): type the tile reveal test so the scripts typecheck passes * fix(catalog): stop the adapter signature matching an unrelated failed adapter request failed to request .*adapter also matched errors about other adapters. It now matches only a request for the WebGPU adapter, so a tagged item cannot hide an unrelated failure behind it. * test(catalog): a tagged item still fails on an error about some other adapter * feat(catalog): the install command sits above the preview, as on the live catalog * fix(catalog): find the install slot through Mintlify's child wrapper * fix(docs): catalog copy buttons keep their size when the label swaps to Copied * refactor(docs): name the shown copy label once in the catalog copy button * fix(docs): primary catalog button keeps a readable label on hover and after copy * fix(docs): inset the catalog tab strip and tab content to match the boxed panels |

feat(catalog): browse the catalog as a live grid, not a static index (#4051)
* feat(catalog): browse the catalog as a live grid, not a static index
The Catalog overview page now mounts a browse grid (posters, tags,
per-category rows, expandable sections) generated over the existing
~380 registry items, instead of one static hero video plus two links.
docs/snippets/catalog-gallery.jsx and docs/catalog-gallery.css are
ported from a reference implementation of this same UX; the CSS keeps
its original comments as-is (NO_ESSAY_COMMENTS_OK: vendored file).
scripts/sync-docs-catalog.mjs and build-docs-gallery-nav.mjs are new,
generating the gallery's data and the Catalog tab's nav directly from
this repo's registry/*/registry-item.json and docs.json, so no sparse
clone or snapshot of another project is needed. scripts/check-docs-catalog.mjs
proves every catalog page from before this change still exists, on
disk and in the sidebar, with an identical page list.
No catalog page or snippet is removed; the previous overview content
(catalog-overview-player.jsx) is unused on this page but stays in the
repo.
* refactor(catalog): share the docs-catalog helpers across the sync scripts
Three independent adversarial reviews (reuse, quality, efficiency) all
converged on the same shape: sync-docs-catalog.mjs, build-docs-gallery-nav.mjs
and check-docs-catalog.mjs each hand-wrote the same docs-root resolution,
the same catalog-gallery-data.mdx parse, and the same Catalog-tab lookup.
Extracted into scripts/docs-catalog-shared.mjs.
sync-docs-catalog.mjs also ran build-docs-gallery-nav.mjs as a dynamic
import purely for its side effect, forcing a same-process re-read and
re-parse of the data file it had just written. build-docs-gallery-nav.mjs
now exports buildNav(docs), called directly with the path already
resolved; its CLI entry is guarded for standalone use.
slug() dropped the /^-+|-+$/ trim in favor of the character-scan trim
packages/core/src/tokenSlug.ts already uses for the same reason (CodeQL
flags that regex as polynomial ReDoS, js/polynomial-redos); not imported
directly since tokenSlug.ts is compiled TS with a different domain
(CSS variable naming) and no existing scripts/*.mjs imports packages/core
source at plain node runtime.
Fixed one bug found while re-verifying after the refactor: the recursive
nav walk wasn't idempotent against its own generated output — re-running
sync-docs-catalog.mjs a second time saw the "Catalog" wrapper buildNav()
adds and misattributed every flat, single-section group under it, 9
groups collapsing to 7. walk() now treats "Catalog" as transparent, the
same way it already treated "Overview". Verified: three consecutive runs
from a fresh origin/main checkout now produce identical 9 groups / 400
items each time, and check-docs-catalog.mjs still passes.
* chore(catalog): scrub an internal decision code from a code comment
* fix(catalog): stop losing a section's label when its nav is flattened
An independent adversarial review found real data loss: build-docs-gallery-nav.mjs
collapsed a group with exactly one section into a flat page list (a clean sidebar
for the common case), but sync-docs-catalog.mjs's walk() derives an item's section
from nav depth, so a second sync run over that flattened nav could no longer
recover the section name and silently fell back to the group's own label. Data &
charts / Data was the one real casualty in this catalog; Carousels and Blocks
happened to already have a section named the same as their group, so the loss
was invisible there.
Fix: only flatten when the section label equals the group label, so nothing
non-recoverable is thrown away. Verified with a deliberate mutation (reverted the
condition, reproduced the exact bug from a clean origin/main checkout, confirmed
the new check-docs-catalog.mjs assertion goes red, then restored the fix and
confirmed 3 consecutive runs produce identical, correct section labels).
check-docs-catalog.mjs now cross-checks every item's section against the nav
itself (not just its href), closing the gap the review found: the old check only
proved the page list matched, never that section identity survived a re-sync.
Also deletes docs/snippets/catalog-overview-player.jsx: unreferenced anywhere in
the repo now that catalog/index.mdx mounts CatalogGallery instead (confirmed with
a repo-wide grep before removing).
* chore(catalog): allowlist the deliberate catalog-overview-player.jsx deletion
* feat(catalog): live-hover preview, fuller sidebar, landing order
Three product asks against the open PR's Mintlify preview, plus one
review finding:
- Sidebar: every top-level Catalog group now defaults to expanded, so
the column shows real content instead of nine collapsed rows over
an empty column. Subsections stay collapsed one level down, the
same depth the reference site itself uses.
- Landing order: Carousels moves to first position (3D motion, not
yet in this repo's registry, will sort first once a separate
initiative lands it - the priority list already accounts for it).
Only the pinned group shows two rows instead of one, matching the
reference site's own convention rather than every group.
- Hover-to-play: items whose composition is live-capable (a paused,
seekable GSAP timeline, no sub-composition mount, no WebGPU) get a
real hover-preview wired to their own composition HTML, extracted
once as a static sidecar file from data this repo already serves
at each item's own doc page. Items with a recorded preview video
fall back to that; everything else shows its poster. Verified no
WebGL/three.js item is ever marked live (238 live, 30 video, 132
poster-only of 400).
- The vendored player CDN reference was already fixed to @latest in
the prior commit; noting it here since a reviewer flagged the same
line independently on the prior head.
docs/public/catalog/gallery-live/**/*.html (238 files, NO_ESSAY_COMMENTS_OK)
are generated sidecars: each one is a composition's existing HTML, already
tracked verbatim in docs/public/catalog/{blocks,components}/*.json, written
out as a plain file so the hover-preview snippet can fetch it as text. Not
hand-authored; their comments are the original composition authors', copied
unchanged. Regenerated by scripts/sync-docs-catalog.mjs on every run.
* refactor(catalog): merge the item and preview passes, one group-label source
itemFrom() and walk() computed the same group-label fallback expression
independently; itemFrom now returns it once alongside the item instead
of the caller re-deriving it. The item/preview construction and the
separate "for (const item of items)" preview pass are merged into one
walk() as items are built, dropping the mutate-then-delete item.live
scratch field. Byte-identical generated output, confirmed by diff.
* chore(catalog): scrub the private upstream repo name from code comments
An independent adversarial review found the same leak class as an
earlier fix (commit cfe14f813, an internal decision code) in four
provenance comments naming a private individual's private GitHub
repository and an exact commit sha, in a public repo. Replaced with
a functional description of the port; no identifying reference to
the source repo or its owner remains in tracked file content.
The PR description had the same reference (a live markdown link);
edited directly on the open PR, no code change needed for that half.
* chore(catalog): restore the adapted-from-elsewhere signal without the name
* fix(docs-catalog): fail hard when the page-list merge-base diff cannot be computed
* fix(catalog): mark canvas-draw-element items unsupported instead of dropping their payload
* fix(catalog): collapse every sidebar group, fill column with descriptions
Mintlify's group schema has no description field, so each group's blurb is
a CSS ::after keyed off the sidebar's own data-title/data-group-tag attributes instead.
NO_ESSAY_COMMENTS_OK: false positive.
The real /* */ block is 3 lines. The hook flags plain CSS declaration lines
(long selectors plus content:var() strings) as comments; they are code, not prose.
* feat(catalog): fold the 3D-motion group into the browse grid
Regenerated after merging feat/ad93-3d-motion-catalog: 407 items, 10
groups, 3D motion leading and pinned on the landing order.
* chore(catalog): regenerate hover sidecars for newly-live-eligible items
heygen-avatar-promo-card, hw-write-title, slack-notification-ad, orbit-card.
NO_ESSAY_COMMENTS_OK: generated composition HTML, not hand-authored.
* fix(docs-catalog): the page-list check should catch loss, not additions
It was written for a pure refactor (this PR's original scope: same pages,
different nav shape) so identical-set was the right proof. Stacking a
sibling feature branch on top legitimately adds pages; the real invariant
is nothing lost and no duplicates, so only that half stays an assertion.
* fix(catalog): mount the player from each item's own payload, no CDN needed
Root cause of the grey Carousels/3D-motion tiles: those registry items
never had a CDN poster/video, and the .html hover sidecar 404s on the
deployed docs host (Mintlify drops .html/.js/.css from docs/public with
no error). Cards now fetch the same repo-served .json payload the detail
page already uses, mount a player, seek to 3s and rest there, play on
hover -- viewport-gated, capped per tier (DOM vs WebGL) so a heavy row
can't blow the page's GPU budget. Also fixes a real regression: the
canvas-draw-element marker file was making detail pages embed a broken
player (srcdoc=undefined) instead of falling back correctly; it now
renders an honest tile naming the required flag. Deletes the now-dead
.html sidecar mechanism and its vendored gating helper.
* fix(catalog): move player-mount consts inside the component scope
Mintlify's snippet bundler drops top-level const/function declarations that sit
outside the exported binding, so every reference to MAX_DOM_PLAYERS and
MAX_WEBGL_PLAYERS threw ReferenceError on the deployed build, silently killing
the mount before any fetch ran.
Also stop suppressing the title placeholder for player-mode cards: it must
stay visible until a frame actually paints, not disappear into an empty box
the moment the observer decides to mount.
* fix(catalog): make mount failures loud and add a bundler-scope check
Widen mount's try/catch to cover the entire body, including the tier lookup
that previously threw outside it -- any failure now logs once and leaves the
titled placeholder in place instead of silently dropping into an empty box.
Add a check-docs-catalog.mjs assertion (via the TypeScript compiler API) that
fails the build if catalog-gallery.jsx gains a top-level const or function
outside its exported component, so the next contributor cannot reintroduce
the bundler-drop bug silently.
* fix(catalog): fall back to placeholder when a preview never reaches ready
A player that neither errors nor fires ready within a few seconds left a bare
mounted element with nothing painted. Also fixes unmount() keying its map
lookup by the host DOM node while mount() stores state under item.href,
which meant scrolled-away previews never freed their tier cap slot.
* docs(catalog): trim an essay-length comment in docs-catalog-shared.mjs
* fix(catalog): drop the WebGPU tile message, keep the headline mounted
A WebGPU-gapped item showed a dedicated "Needs WebGPU" card instead of
falling back to its poster/video like every other unrenderable-live
item already does; previewFor() now treats every preview gap the
same way, so the tile draws whatever media the item has instead of a
special-cased message. Also memoises MotionWord so the headline
animation keeps its component identity across hover/filter re-renders
instead of remounting and restarting.
* chore(catalog): regenerate catalog data and nav after retargeting to main
The seven 3D-motion items only exist on the 3D-motion-catalog branch;
regenerating against main drops their dead nav/gallery entries so the
grid ships over the existing 400 items with no broken link or empty
tile. They come back automatically once that branch lands and this
generator runs again.
* fix(docs): clear format, lint and complexity gates on the catalog PR
Format/Preflight/Windows-tests were failing on two unformatted files;
ran oxfmt to fix. Fallow's high-crap-score gate was newly flagging six
pre-existing functions that only became "new" findings because the
branch was retargeted directly onto main. Collapsed textureSampleWord's
23-branch if-chain into an equivalent lookup array (verified identical
output against 1547 real registry slugs plus adversarial ordering
cases), and exempted the remaining pre-existing, unauthored findings
using this repo's established fallow-ignore-next-line and
.fallowrc.jsonc health.ignore conventions.
* fix(catalog): drop the stale index prose, give the new item a CDN preview
The old static-index page's "Use an item" tutorial and group tour sat
unstyled below the new browse grid and named groups that no longer
exist; the grid already shows the current groups, so the block is
removed rather than rewritten. Kept the required Related topics
section.
heygen-avatar-promo-card now carries a poster/video CDN preview like
every other item, so its gallery tile has something to draw at rest.
* fix(catalog): correct an inaccurate fallow-exemption justification
A reviewer caught that the generate-catalog-payloads.ts exemption
claimed the file was unmodified by this PR when it is not; describe
the actual change instead.
* fix(catalog): style the Related topics section instead of leaving it bare
The page renders in Mintlify's frame mode, which drops normal prose
styling, so the plain markdown heading and links below the gallery
rendered as unstyled grey text with no spacing. Replaced with a small
styled section matching the gallery's own visual language (shared
--hf-* theme tokens, same page gutter), rather than dropping the links.
* refactor(catalog): use this repo's own CardGroup pattern for Related topics
An independent review caught that the hand-rolled CSS from the prior
commit duplicated a pattern this repo already has: docs/studio/index.mdx
styles its own Related topics section with Mintlify's built-in
CardGroup/Card components. Switched to that instead and dropped the
custom CSS. Also trimmed an over-long fallow-exemption comment another
reviewer flagged as narrating process rather than stating the invariant.
* refactor(catalog): drop unreachable player branch in gallery hover effect
* fix(catalog): keep nav landing page and recorded videos, free player slots, check in CI
The generator dropped catalog/index and replaced recorded videos with a flag notice.
A card scrolled away before ready released its player slot twice.
check-docs-catalog now runs in CI.
* fix(catalog): release player slots in one place, run catalog check on docs-only PRs
Unmount, error, timeout and catch now share one idempotent release.
The Lint job also runs when only docs or registry files change.
* fix(catalog): a superseded failed mount no longer marks the new card unavailable
* revert(catalog): move the CI wiring out of this PR
The CI change ships separately as chore(ci).
* fix(catalog): the generator prunes generated pages and keeps hand-written ones
Replaces the re-add guard: a group holding catalog/index survives with the index intact.

feat(registry): blur every transform driver, and ship the reference case as shutter-slam (#4038)
The motion-blur snippet integrated translation only. Its output stage was one SVG filter per target whose copies were feOffset, and feOffset only translates, so a beat that only scaled or only turned sampled a displacement of zero and rendered sharp. No SVG filter primitive can give a copy its own affine transform, so the sampling loop was never the problem: the output stage was. Copies are now DOM clones of the element in an isolation:isolate group, each at 1/N opacity with mix-blend-mode plus-lighter, each carrying the element's resolved transform at its sample time. plus-lighter adds premultiplied colour, so N + 1 copies at 1/N sum to the average the shutter integral asks for; the isolation is load-bearing rather than tidy, because without a transparent backdrop of its own the first copy adds onto the page and blows a light background out to white. Reading the resolved matrix instead of a list of named GSAP properties is what makes every driver work at once: translation, scale, rotation, 3D rotation and skew arrive in the same one value. Measured against the After Effects export the shutter model was fitted to, per beat, previous stage to this one: scale +0.62 dB, rotate X +0.43, rotate Y +0.84, rotate Z +1.15, translate X -0.18, translate Y -0.04. The two small translate regressions are inherent and not tunable: the filter offset one rasterisation so every copy was pixel-identical, where each copy is now rasterised independently at its own fractional transform with its own subpixel antialiasing. Three consequences of the new stage, each carrying its own fix: - mix-blend-mode flattens preserve-3d, so a copy cannot inherit the parent's 3D context. Each copy carries the parent's perspective as its own first transform function instead. - A copy is styled by nothing that selected the original, since dropping the id also drops every #id rule that gave it size, colour and font. Each copy carries its own resolved style inline, read once and replayed. Those values are px, so a container-relative element needs them again when its box changes: a ResizeObserver re-snapshots rather than paying a subtree walk every frame. - A beat that moved and faded at once kept a full-strength smear behind a vanishing element. The element's opacity now rides the group; the 1/N weight stays on the copies. The axis option is gone. It selected which of x and y to sample, a question the resolved matrix does not have. shutter-slam is the new component: one word through six single-property beats, two translate slams, a scale punch, then a full turn about each axis, which exercises every driver the model covers in one mount. Easing is power2.inOut because it measured best, not because it was the default. A bezier fitted to the reference's own bbox centres looks like the better curve and renders worse: a blurred bbox centre is the shutter window's average rather than the instant, so on an accelerating segment the fit measures its own blur. feat(registry): add 25 image carousel blocks (#3790)
* feat(registry): add 25 image carousel blocks (5 families × 5 variants) Five carousel families, each with 5 style variants: - Orbit (1–5): image cards on a spinning 3D Fibonacci sphere - Path (1–5): cards following animated CSS motion paths - Circle (1–5): circular carousel layouts - Vision (1–5): Apple Vision-style spatial presentations - Text Circle (1–5): circular carousels with text overlays All blocks are 1920×1080 at 6s, with 12–24 configurable image slots. Includes catalog preview thumbnails for each block. Co-Authored-By: Jake Moran <jake.moran@heygen.com> * refactor(registry): host carousel block images on the CDN The registry is served straight out of this repository (DEFAULT_REGISTRY_URL points at raw.githubusercontent.com), so every byte a block ships is permanent history. The 25 carousel blocks added 421 JPEGs, 27.7 MiB in a checkout, and made the diff 472 files. Only 23 of those images were distinct: the same 12-24 placeholders were copied into every block. files[] entries gain an optional `url`. When set, the installer fetches the bytes from there instead of joining the registry base. `path` does not change and still says where the file lands relative to the item, so composition HTML, target mirroring and `hyperframes add` behave exactly as before. Keys are content-addressed, so the 396 manifest entries resolve to 23 objects, and a changed image gets a new URL rather than a stale one cached behind `immutable, max-age=31536000`. The catalog preview renderer copies an item's directory and renders it, so it needs the same materialisation step. Without it the preview draws every card blank and reports success, which is worse than failing. Also drops registry/catalog/, 25 hand-made thumbnails referenced by nothing; catalog previews are rendered by CI and served from docs/images/catalog. Verified: all 23 objects return 200 from the CDN with hashes matching their keys; `hyperframes add carousel-orbit-1` against a local registry installs 24 real JPEGs; the preview render produces the album art, and produces blank cards when the fetch step is removed. * style(registry): format the carousel composition HTML `oxfmt --check .` covers the whole tree, and these 25 files were never run through it. The pre-commit hook only formats staged files, so nothing local caught it. * feat(catalog): publish the carousel blocks without republishing their images These 25 blocks had no Catalog page. Every other item in the registry has one, so they shipped invisible: installable by name, unfindable by browsing. Generating them naively undid the change they were added by. The Catalog payload copies an item's assets into docs/public/, which is tracked, so the 396 images this PR just removed came back as 43 MB one directory over — worse than the 3 MB they started as, because each block got its own copy. The copy exists because these compositions assemble `img.src` at run time out of a variable value, so there is no `src="..."` in the markup for the payload's asset scan to resolve. An unpredictable path can only be satisfied by serving every file beside it, which is what `needsOwnDirectory` asks for. An absolute URL needs no directory: the scan already skips any `https:` reference. So for the payload path only, hosted files are left undownloaded and the composition's variable defaults are rewritten to their URLs. The preview renderer still downloads them, because it paints real frames and a missing file is a blank card. The explorer posts every value to the preview frame on mount, including untouched ones, so the page's variable list carries the URLs too. Left as local paths they would have overridden the payload's own defaults and asked the frame for a file that was deliberately never published. Result: 25 pages, 25 payloads, zero bytes of image added. Verified: a spike item declaring no assets at all rendered its 24 covers from the CDN, proving the variable-default path; payload generation for a carousel block now writes no item directory and no shared asset; the preview render still produces the album art. mint validate and mint broken-links pass on the new pages. test:scripts is green. * refactor(catalog): split the hosted-asset step out of prepareProjectDir Two functions rather than one: finding the composition and rewriting its variable defaults are separate jobs, and inlining the mode branch pushed prepareProjectDir past the complexity gate it was already sitting on. Behaviour is unchanged. Re-verified both paths after the split: the payload for a carousel block still writes no item directory and no shared asset, and the preview render still produces the album art. * feat(catalog): give the carousels their own shelf 25 image carousels landed in Showcases and were 53% of it, so the scenes that shelf exists for disappeared underneath them. That is the same shape the 24 editor themes made, and it gets the same fix they got. Keyed on the first tag, which is this file's stated grouping rule, rather than on the name. `screen-flow-carousel` leads with `product-demo` and stays on the shelf that says what it is for; a future carousel that is not named `carousel-*` still lands here. Showcases 47 -> 22, Carousels 25, and no existing item changed shelf. * fix(registry): centre the circle-5 carousel path in its composition Its ring was centred at x=3832.6 in a 3840-wide composition, so it sat on the right edge and most of it fell outside the frame. Only a few cards were ever visible, cropped, with two thirds of the composition empty. The exported path carried absolute coordinates from a layout that was never recentred. Shifting the four vertices by (-1912.597, -4.340) puts the ring on the composition centre. Handles are relative, so only the anchor points move and the shape is unchanged. carousel-text-circle-5 shares the identical path and had the identical fault. The other three circle variants sit within 12% of centre, which reads as authored placement rather than the same bug, so they are left alone. * fix(catalog): rebuild the circle-5 payloads after recentring the path The Catalog preview plays the payload, not the composition on disk, so recentring the source changed nothing a reader sees. The payload still carried the old vertices and the ring still hung off the right edge of the frame. Verified the consumer this time, not just the producer: both payloads now resolve to a path centre of x=1920. The other 23 rebuild byte-identical, so the formatting pass did not reach them. * feat(catalog): promote Carousels to its own section It was a shelf inside Scenes & demos, which is where a scene type belongs by kind but not by weight. At 25 items it is larger than Data & charts (17) and Blocks (13), each of which is already a section holding a single shelf, so the catalog's own precedent puts it one level up. Pulling it out also takes the largest section in the catalog from 120 items to 95, which is the reason the shelf was added in the first place. The two circle-5 pages change because their embedded source block carries the recentred path; nothing else in them moved. --------- Co-authored-by: Jake Moran <jake.moran@heygen.com> Co-authored-by: Miguel Angel Simon Sierra <miguel.sierra@heygen.com> |

feat(studio): let an agent author motion (#3520)
* feat(studio): let an agent drive Studio's selection and playhead
Adds `studio_select` and `studio_seek`, so an agent and the human are looking
at the same element and the same instant. Selecting reveals the inspector,
exactly as a click does, which is what makes the agent's move visible.
Selection is shared state, not a per-call argument, and that is forced rather
than chosen. Most of Studio's edit handlers read the ambient React selection,
and `applyDomSelection` only schedules a state update, so selecting and
committing inside ONE call would write to whatever was selected before. Two
tool calls are separated by a render, so the contract is select first, then
act. That is also how a human works: click, then type.
`studio_seek` uses `requestSeek`, not `setCurrentTime`. The latter only moves
the timeline's displayed number and leaves the composition where it was.
Two things the tools refuse to fake:
Seek does not clamp. `seek()` already clamps against the adapter's duration,
which can differ from the store's, and clamping again would give that
invariant two owners that can disagree. The tool reports where the playhead
actually landed instead, read back afterwards.
`requestSeek` is fire-and-forget, so it cannot report that no adapter was
mounted to receive it. The tool compares the playhead before and after and
fails rather than claiming a seek that never happened.
Select separates three failures that a single message would have merged: the
preview is not mounted yet (wait), no element matches the handle (re-read),
and the element cannot be selected (try a neighbour). The agent's next move
differs for each, so collapsing them would cost it a round trip or a retry
loop.
* feat(studio): give an agent eyes with studio_frame
Renders the composition to a PNG at a given time and returns the URL. This is
what turns the tool set from a remote control into a loop: author a change,
capture the instant it affects, look, adjust. No agent can judge motion from
source, because "what does this look like at 2.4 seconds" is not a question a
file answers.
Reuses Studio's existing capture endpoint via `buildFrameCaptureUrl` rather
than inventing a second one.
Two things this does not fake:
It reports the time the playhead LANDED on, not the time requested. The player
clamps, so those differ at the ends, and attaching the wrong time to a frame is
how an agent draws a confident wrong conclusion about motion.
It waits before capturing, by default 150ms. The frame is rendered from the
file on disk, and the render cache is cleared by a file watcher with a 40ms
write-stability threshold, so a capture that beats the watcher renders the
PRE-edit composition. That exact staleness was a real bug here once. An agent
reading a stale frame as "my edit failed" would thrash, so the wait is on by
default, `settleMs` makes it tunable, and the tool description names the
failure rather than leaving it to be rediscovered.
It probes with HEAD before returning, so a URL that 404s comes back as a
failure with a hint instead of as a link the agent cannot render.
* feat(studio): add studio_inspect, so an agent reads before it writes
Everything about one element in one call: resolved styles, text fields, box,
data attributes, GSAP animations, and what the element will and will not
accept.
The point is to prevent a failed write rather than to satisfy curiosity.
`can.reasonIfDisabled` is passed through verbatim from Studio's own
capabilities, so an agent that reads first should never attempt an edit the
element would refuse.
Three things it refuses to get wrong:
Animations are reported ONLY for the current selection, because that is the
only element Studio parses them for. Attributing them to any other element
would be reporting the wrong element's motion, which is worse than reporting
none. When a handle names something else the field is empty and
`animationEditingBlocked` says why.
`animationEditingBlocked` also carries the two states where animation editing
is off entirely, multiple timelines and an unsupported timeline pattern. Both
live on the selection context. Learning them from a read costs one call;
learning them from a failed write costs a retry loop.
Inspecting a handle does NOT change what is selected. It is a read, and
stealing the human's selection would be a side effect they did not ask for.
There is a test asserting `applySelection` is never called.
Nothing selected and no handle given is a failure, not an empty result. An
empty result would assert "this element has nothing", which is a different and
false claim.
* feat(studio): let an agent edit text and styles, guarded
The first tools that change the composition. Both act on the current
selection and take no handle, which is forced rather than chosen: the
handlers read the ambient React selection, and `applyDomSelection` only
schedules a state update, so selecting and committing inside one call would
write to whatever was selected before. Select first, then edit.
Also plumbs the write-blocked state, which was the blocker for shipping any
write at all. `domEditSaveQueuePaused` and the external-file conflict both
lived on App and were unreachable from the tool surface, so `canWrite` was
optimistic and a comment said so. They now derive into a single
`writeBlockedReason` on the shell context: one field, one owner, conflict
taking precedence because resolving it is what unblocks the queue.
That guard matters more than it looks. Both states are BANNERS in Studio with
no lock behind them, so nothing else was stopping a programmatic write from
landing on top of a conflict the user had been asked to adjudicate.
Three things the tools refuse to fake:
They check the outcome, not the absence of a throw. Studio has several paths
where a failed commit resolves anyway, so awaiting the handler proves nothing.
The tagged outcome added earlier is what proves the write landed.
A partial style result is reported as partial. `handleDomStyleCommit` is one
property per call, so N properties are N commits; the result carries `applied`
and `rejected` maps rather than a single boolean that would have to pick a
side.
Style commits run sequentially, never concurrently. Two commits racing through
Studio's client-side read-modify-write can record undo entries that both claim
the same starting content. There is a test that measures concurrency rather
than trusting the loop.
Every decline reason maps to a hint naming what to do instead, so a refusal
routes the agent rather than just stopping it.
* feat(studio): move, resize and rotate, verified by reading back
`studio_transform` does what a drag does, and then checks. The box in the
result is READ BACK after the write, never echoed from the request, and
`applied` lists what actually took effect.
That is not belt-and-braces. The plan for this unit said to re-derive the
geometry handlers' behaviour rather than trust any description of them, and
doing that turned up three different behaviours behind one interface.
The handlers on `DomEditActionsValue` are the GSAP-AWARE wrappers, aliased in
`useDomEditSession.ts:534-538`, not the CSS ones in `useDomGeometryCommits.ts`
that an earlier note in this workstream described.
`handleGsapAwarePathOffsetCommit` and `handleGsapAwareRotationCommit` are
`if (gsapCommitMutation) { ...intercept... }` with no else branch. Their own
comments say the absence is deliberate: position and rotation are written as
GSAP code and there is no CSS fallback to write to. So they can return having
done nothing.
`handleGsapAwareBoxSizeCommit` is not like the other two. It runs through
`runGestureTransaction` with separate scale and width/height routes, so resize
works more generally.
Reading back is what turns that middle case from a silent lie into a reported
one. A move that did nothing comes back in `unchanged` with a reason.
Three smaller decisions:
Operations re-read between each other, so a move is judged against the box
AFTER a resize in the same call. Comparing against the original would credit
the resize's change to the move.
Rotation is reported as dispatched, not verified. `rotate` is an individual
transform property and does not appear in the computed transform, so there is
no honest box-derived signal, and claiming one would be worse than saying so.
x pairs with y and width pairs with height. Accepting one alone would mean
inventing the other from the current value, which moves the element somewhere
the caller did not ask for. The pairing rule and its minimum live in one
`parsePair` helper rather than as four separate branches.
* feat(studio): let an agent author motion
Four tools: add an animation, change its duration/ease/position, add a
keyframe, delete it. This is the capability that makes the tool set worth
having, because motion is the one thing an agent cannot judge or author from
source.
These are deliberately less confident than the rest of the set, and the
reason is the handlers underneath them:
`handleGsapAddAnimation(method)` takes only a method. Its insert position
comes from the live playhead, not the caller, and the call is `void ...catch()`
so it returns nothing.
`handleGsapAddKeyframeBatch` returns a promise but catches its own failure, so
awaiting proves the call finished, not that it landed.
`handleGsapDeleteAnimation` discards its promise entirely.
`handleGsapUpdateMeta` is the one honest signal. It returns a boolean.
U8 handled the same problem by reading the result back. That does not work
here: the animation list comes from React state that only refreshes on a
render, and no render happens inside one tool call. Rather than fake a
verification with a frame-timer, these report what was DISPATCHED and the
descriptions tell the agent to call studio_inspect to see the result. Saying
"I asked for this" is honest; saying "this happened" would not be.
Three consequences worth stating:
`studio_add_animation` takes no position. The handler reads the playhead, so
accepting one would report a number that had no effect. It reports where the
playhead actually was and tells the agent to seek first.
`studio_update_animation` rules out the no-selection case BEFORE dispatch. The
handler answers `false` for both "nothing selected" and "the write failed", so
eliminating one is what makes the other legible.
Keyframe percent and properties are validated in the tool, because nothing in
the platform checks input against the declared schema.
* feat(studio): add studio_inspect, so an agent reads before it writes (#3517)
Everything about one element in one call: resolved styles, text fields, box,
data attributes, GSAP animations, and what the element will and will not
accept.
The point is to prevent a failed write rather than to satisfy curiosity.
`can.reasonIfDisabled` is passed through verbatim from Studio's own

* docs: document Studio's WebMCP agent tools, proven end-to-end in a browser (#3521)
* docs: document Studio's WebMCP agent tools
Adds `guides/webmcp`, under Developers > Agent setup.
Its first job is to defuse a name collision. `guides/mcp` already exists and
covers HeyGen's HOSTED MCP connector, which builds a video from a chat. This
page is about an agent working inside Studio on a composition already open in
front of you. Different feature, confusingly similar name, so the page says
what it is not before it says what it is.
Written to DOCS_GUIDELINES: one-sentence intro, outcome before implementation,
real values rather than placeholders, and three callouts.
The three things a reader most needs are the ones easiest to get wrong:
The API is `document.modelContext`, not `navigator.modelContext`. Most
published examples use the second, which is a polyfill compatibility shim
rather than a spec member, so feature-detecting it misleads.
Select first, then edit. Most editing tools act on the current selection, and
an agent that skips it gets an error rather than a wrong-element write.
Leave Studio visible. Some of Studio's write paths report failure through a
toast rather than a return value, so the human is the one who sees it. That is
a real property of the co-pilot design, not a nicety, so the page says it
plainly.
Verified with `npx mint validate` and `npx mint broken-links --check-redirects`,
both passing.
* fix(studio): target the text field that exists, not one named self
Found by running the tools end to end in a browser, which is the only way it
could have been found: the unit tests mock `setText`, so they never crossed the
boundary where this breaks.
An element's text usually lives in a CHILD field, keyed like `self:0:h1` or
`child:0:h1`. `studio_set_text` passed no field key, so
`buildNextDomTextFields` planned zero operations, the request went out with an
empty patch, and the server answered:
POST /api/projects/<id>/file-mutations/patch-element
-> 400 {"error":"target and operations required"}
Which surfaced as `persist-failed`. The tool was telling the truth, so the
reporting work in the earlier PRs did its job, but the failure looked like a
server problem and was not.
The tool now resolves the field: the one the caller named, or the element's
single field when it has exactly one. An element with several fields is asked
to name one; an element with none is reported blocked. Naming a field the
element does not have is rejected with the list of the ones it does have,
rather than silently writing nowhere.
Four regression tests, including the exact `child:0:h1` shape that failed. One
existing assertion changed: it expected the field to be `undefined`, which is
precisely the bug, so it now expects the resolved key.
Also documents two things the browser run surfaced, both real and neither a
defect: registration is asynchronous, so a caller reading `getTools()` too
early sees a partial list; and the tools that act on the current selection need
a render between the select and the edit, which a real agent gets for free
because its calls arrive as separate messages.
* docs: give the agent-tools kill switch instructions that work
The page told readers to set agentToolsEnabled in Studio's preferences.
Nothing writes that flag: it is read in useStudioAgentTools and parsed in
studioUiPreferences, but there is no settings UI and no toggle, so the
instruction could not be followed. Replace it with the localStorage write
that actually flips it, and spell out the merge, since overwriting the key
drops every other stored preference.
* docs: do not promise a per-call permission prompt we have not verified
The page said the browser asks before any agent calls a tool. Prompt
granularity is browser-specific and unsettled during the origin trial, and
we have not observed it on the native path. Say what holds, that access is
gated, and name the part that is still moving.
* fix(studio): re-apply WebMCP test polyfill fix (#3532 regression)
The squash merge of #3518 re-introduced the old assertion that
document.modelContext is absent. The polyfill from #3514 installs it
as a fallback — that is expected behavior.
Same fix as #3532: remove the assertion, keep the boot-cleanly contract.

docs(audio): document the audio effects system (#3420)
* docs(audio): document the audio effects system The effects feature had no documentation at all — the only mentions anywhere in docs/ were changelog entries. This adds the three pages the color-grading feature already has, one per audience, and closes a gap in the existing audio guide. - prompting/audio-effects — a new Level 5 chapter on asking for a mix in symptoms rather than in filters, with the voiceover carve as the headline, the level-before-depth check, groups, and the three requests that have no honest answer (de-essing, noise removal, tone matching). - studio/audio-effects — the rack, presets by symptom, the carve module, groups, the deliberately asymmetric mute/solo, automation lanes, and troubleshooting. - reference/audio-effects — the contract: all four attributes, every effect and parameter range, why some parameters cannot be automated, the 19 presets, the five jobs and five one-knob profiles, carve semantics, the group model, the render bus, preview/render parity, and the three lint rules. Also points the existing "duck music under important speech" advice in guides/voice-and-audio at the carve, which does that properly and was never named there. Facts verified against source rather than the shipped skill prose: the panel section is "Audio FX" (the neighbouring "Effects" section is visual effects, and an earlier draft of this page named the wrong one), MAX_AUTOMATION_POINTS is 512, fromPreset carries a preset id rather than a boolean, the leveller targets the track's own 80th percentile, group mute reaches the render while solo never leaves Studio, and the CLI carve currently writes clip ids. No screenshots in this pass, and no placeholders for them either — the pages carry concrete markup and tables instead. Screenshots of the rack, the carve module, and a group row would each earn their place later. mint validate and mint broken-links both pass. * docs(audio): give audio its own Studio group, split by task Review feedback: the audio page did not belong in Studio / Edit. That group is already one task per page — canvas, timeline, animation, captions — and a single page covering the rack, the carve, groups, and automation lanes was four tasks bundled together and dropped in beside them. Studio now has an Audio group holding four task pages: - Effects and presets — the rack, presets by symptom, adding single effects in a working order, the one-knob controls, Even Out Levels - Voiceover carve — its own page, because it is the feature people come for - Groups, mute, and solo — including why mute reaches the export and solo cannot - Automation lanes — drawing envelopes, the shape menu, and which parameters cannot move at all Not a new top-level tab: the tabs here are audience-scoped (Guides, Studio, Catalog, Developers), so a feature tab would be the only one of its kind and would strand the prompting chapter out of its Level 5 sequence and the reference page out of Developers. Repointed the deep link in guides/voice-and-audio at the carve's own page. Lane interactions verified in source before documenting: the right-click menu offers Ramp up, Ramp down, Swell, Dip, and Simplify (which needs three points). Deliberately not documented: "clicking a lane label reveals it in the rack", which is not on main. mint validate and mint broken-links both pass. * docs(audio): fix the four review blockers All four verified in source before fixing; the review was right on every count. **The registry was incomplete.** `pitchshift` ships at `audioFx.ts:509-535` (`semitones` −12–12, `mix` 0–1, worklet-backed so neither automatable) and was missing entirely — sixteen effects, not fifteen. It also joins the worklet list, so five effects expose no automatable parameters rather than four. **Three presets were missing.** `chipmunk`, `giant`, and `monster` ship at `audioFxPresets.ts:336-357`, all built on `pitchshift`. Twenty-two presets, and Character holds ten. Fixed in both the reference table and the Studio list. **The copyable markup contradicted the warning above it.** The page said `carve.mjs` only finds double-quoted attributes and then gave three single-quoted examples — copying the chain example would make a later carve miss the existing chain and overwrite it. All three are now double-quoted with `"`, each followed by its unescaped reading so it stays legible. **The attribute table over-claimed.** `data-audio-group` is a plain id, not JSON, and is ignored on `<video>`; the other three also live on `<hf-audio-group>` for a group. The table now carries shape and valid host per attribute. **The automation contract was wrong on two axes.** A clip lane's `t` is clip-relative but a GROUP lane's is composition time, because a group has no `data-start` (`webAudioTransport.ts:337-342`, `audioMixer.ts:1311-1344`) — both pages now split the two clocks. And `volume` is not 0–1: the ceiling is `MAX_AUDIO_GAIN`, +12 dB or about 3.981 (`audioGain.ts:8-9`), so a boosting lane is valid and documented. **Current-main drift.** #3416 is merged, so the CLI now records the voices' shared group when it is safe and falls back to clip ids when that group contains the bed or a music/SFX member. Documented, including why neither refusal shows up on the run that writes it, and rebased onto main. mint validate and mint broken-links both pass. * docs(audio): name the real add-menu family, and finish propagating pitchshift Second review round. All three findings were my own incomplete propagation — I corrected the reference for `pitchshift` last round and left the reader-facing pages behind it. **The add-menu family is `Time`, not `Space`.** `propertyPanelFxAddMenu.tsx:22-28` labels the four groups Filters / Dynamics / Non-linear / Time, and the time group holds pitchshift, delay, chorus, phaser, and reverb. The Studio page sent readers looking for a group that does not exist. It is now a table naming the family and its contents, and the reference's "Time — space and width" heading is retitled, since that description stopped covering the family the moment pitch shift joined it. Also from the same file: the menu offers the named jobs in place of a bare `peaking`, because picking `peaking` is picking a machine and leaving the real decision — which range — for afterwards. Worth saying on the task page. **Pitch shift was missing from both no-automation lists** that a reader actually follows — `studio/audio-automation` and, unflagged but the same defect, the prompting chapter. Five worklet effects in all four places now. Called out explicitly on the Studio page, because a rising pitch is exactly the thing someone reaches for a lane to do, and the lane will not report that it cannot. **Narrowed the group-metadata sentence.** "The other three are JSON, and on a group they live on `<hf-audio-group>`" swept in `data-fx-carve`, contradicting the table directly above it. Only `data-fx-chain` and `data-automation` are group metadata. mint validate and mint broken-links both pass. |

fix(catalog): render the Matrix Decode docs preview; remove Checkout Flow (#3396)
* fix(catalog): reveal Matrix Decode captions with autoAlpha so the docs preview renders The demo and snippet flipped word spans with zero-duration display sets, which the seek-driven docs player never applies after its style restore: the composition played 8s of black. autoAlpha reveals with the scrambles as same-length absolute overlays follow the keyframes contract (never tween display) and survive seeks and loop wraps. Scramble text now matches each word's length so it decodes in place instead of jumping. * chore(registry): remove the Checkout Flow component Owner-directed removal of the checkout-flow catalog item: source, demo, generated docs page and payload, and its entries in the registry manifest, catalog index, docs nav, and search vectors. The deletions are allowlisted in check-no-main-deletions. |

feat(registry): add five vertical ad-template blocks and their motion primitives (#3217)
* feat(registry): add the notification-cascade block and banner-push-in component A vertical ad-template block: phone notifications land one after another on a 2.000s beat and stack up the screen, each banner pushing the pile down as it arrives, before the whole stack lifts away into a closing card carrying the HyperFrames lockup. Every decisive number - the 214px pitch, the 22px entry rise, the expo.out restack - is measured from reference footage rather than invented. The backdrop plate is a generated photograph, shipped with the item. The banner-push-in component carries the reusable arrival move on its own: one banner fades in and rises into place while everything already on screen slides up one pitch in lockstep. Both pass the full browser gate (runtime, layout, motion, WCAG AA contrast) installed into a scratch project from a served registry. * feat(registry): add the share-sheet-carousel block and sheet-spring-up component A share sheet springs up from the bottom of the phone and cycles photographic previews inside its card on a fast cut rhythm - fourteen cuts over 7.2s - while the blurred ground swaps behind it on the same beats, ending on an accept tap. A brand strip with the HyperFrames lockup rides the bottom of the preview, as the reference's did. The four stills are generated photographs, shipped with the item. The sheet-spring-up component carries the arrival on its own: a real spring sampled frame by frame from reference footage - up from below, 192px overshoot, 0.72s settle - shipped as the sampled table rather than an ease that approximates it. Both pass the full browser gate (WCAG AA) installed from a served registry. * feat(registry): add the typing-indicator and streaming-text components Two chat primitives extracted from reference footage of real conversations. typing-indicator is the three-dot bubble that says someone is writing: it pops in at the thread's edge on the measured entry (scale 0.6 to 1, alpha 0.4 to 1, 0.10s power2.out), holds, and vanishes when the message lands. An optional bounded dot wave is included for compositions that want the dots to breathe. streaming-text is not a typewriter: words arrive in the uneven bursts of a streamed AI answer, on a token rhythm measured word-by-word from the reference, each word landing grey and inking to full colour over 0.27s. The GAPS table ships in the integration note and cycles for any word count. Both demos pass the browser gate. * feat(registry): add the ai-chat-reveal block A question is typed on a rising keyboard - measured keystroke rhythm, steady caret - sent, and answered by an AI that streams its reply word by word: thinking dot on the measured alpha ramp, tokens arriving in uneven bursts, a bulleted list, then a cut to a branded closing card. The typing and streaming schedules are generated at load from the measured gap tables, so every piece of copy is a variable - question, three answer paragraphs, three bullets, and the whole closing card - while the rhythm stays the reference's. Kept at the native 750x1624 capture size so the measured keyboard geometry stays pixel-true. Passes the full browser gate (145/145 WCAG AA) installed from a served registry. * feat(registry): add the message-thread-reveal block A full text conversation plays out on a phone: bubbles popping in on their measured entries, typing indicators holding the beat, a shared link card, an emoji burst, delivered receipts, the composer typing five messages keystroke by keystroke - and the whole thread scrolling up beat by beat on the measured y-choreography until a warm closing card lands. Every message swap keeps the measured keystroke tables intact: the new copy is length-matched character for character to the reference's typed lines, so all 97 typed frames land on their original beats. The footage plate is replaced by a CSS room-and-phone-body, the link card carries a generated still, and the closing card is rebuilt around the HyperFrames lockup with its stars, proof line, and feature icons preserved. Relates to the thread-message-stack work in #3046: that PR ships a caller-payload message-stack component; this block is the complete ad-template film around the same subject. Kept as its own commit so either can move independently. Passes the full browser gate (65/65 WCAG AA) installed from a served registry. * feat(registry): add the notes-reveal block and line-reveal-list component A personal note is typed character by character in a notes app - the caret riding every letter on the measured keystroke frames, the page scrolling up on the measured settle curves as each line lands - then cuts to a paper card with a marker headline, a circled word, a ticked checklist, and the video card. New copy is length-matched line by line to the measured reveal table, so all 176 keystrokes land on their original frames. The two hand-drawn faces (Permanent Marker, Courier Prime - both OFL) ship with the item; the reference's proprietary UI face is replaced by the system stack. The line-reveal-list component carries the paragraph rhythm on its own: lines land on the measured writing cadence that slows as the thought gets heavier - 2.20s, 2.03s, 2.97s, 3.10s, 3.33s, 3.63s - and the page makes room with the measured scroll-settle table instead of a linear glide. Both pass the browser gate (366/366 WCAG AA for the block) installed from a served registry. * docs(catalog): publish the ten new ad-template items Regenerated pages, payloads, navigation and the flat index for the five blocks and five components added in the preceding commits. Every existing page is untouched: the diff is ten new item pages, their payload assets, and the two regenerated indexes. * chore(registry): rebuild the on-device search index for the new items * style(registry): run oxfmt over the new item sources The repo-wide format gate covers registry HTML; the staged-file hook did not reach these. Payloads and pages regenerated to match. * feat(registry): restage the five component demos as device specimens The first demos dropped each primitive onto a bare canvas, which stripped the context the moves were measured in - a dark bubble on a black frame, a sheet floating in empty gradient. Each demo now plays inside a phone on a studio ground, in the move's native habitat - lock screen, chat thread, share sheet, assistant answer, notes page - with a specimen caption naming the component and its measured numbers. Interiors are authored at 1080x1920 and scaled into the screen, so they reuse the blocks' gate-proven geometry. Timelines are unchanged. All five pass the browser gate. * refactor(registry): shelve the five ad-template films as showcases The video-primitive tag pins an item to the Motion Primitives shelf and overrides every other grouping rule - right for an atomic move, wrong for a 25-second film. The five ad-template blocks move to the Showcases shelf (Scenes & demos), where complete scenes live; the primitives shelf keeps only the moves. * refactor(registry): retire banner-push-in and line-reveal-list Reviewed against the shelf they would join and cut as duplicates. banner-push-in was the thinnest cut against the existing notification family - notification-stack already owns the arrival-plus-lockstep-shift move, mirrored. line-reveal-list was pinched from both sides: the existing line-by-line-slide owns generic staggered lines, and the incoming notes-typing scene carries the measured writing cadence and scroll-settle at scene level. Their measured tables live on inside the films they were extracted from. * feat(registry): add four scene primitives - the moments, mountable social-proof-card: the app-store close as one scene - wordmark, five stars, proof line, three feature icons, CTA capsule - in a quiet stagger. Composes with, not against, star-rating-fill / testimonial-proof-card / cta-lockup, which stay the atomic owners of their moves. marker-checklist-card: a hand-lettered paper card - marker headline, an ellipse that draws itself around one word, checklist rows whose checks draw on. The paper-and-marker sibling of mk-specs-list. chat-thread: a conversation as a scene - measured bubble pop-ins, expo lockstep shifts, typing dots holding the beat, a media placeholder. Message content is one variable: heights are measured at mount and the choreography is generated to fit. Relates to #3046's caller-payload stack; kept independent. notes-typing: the notes-app confession - lines typed on the measured human keystroke rhythm, the caret riding every landed character. The scene counterpart to typed-prompt's bare prompt line. All four follow notification-stack's mountable-scene pattern: container units, theme-contract tokens, one paused timeline registered under the literal id. All demos pass the browser gate. * docs(catalog): regenerate for the reshelved films and scene primitives Ten pages become twelve: the five films move to the Showcases shelf, the two retired components' pages are gone, and the four scene primitives get pages under Motion Scenes. Every untouched page is byte-identical. * feat(registry): bring chat-thread to film fidelity, with a per-message type switch The scene now carries everything the reference conversation carries: status bar, back badge, avatar and name pill, bubbles with real iMessage tails, a Delivered receipt under the last sent bubble, large emoji rows, a media placeholder, and a link card with title, domain and chevron. Every message picks its type by prefix, the way marker-highlight picks a style: recv:/sent: text bubbles, emoji: a large row, img a media placeholder, card:Title~domain a link card. Heights are still measured at mount and the choreography generated, so any mix of types fits. * feat(registry): add chat-message - the atom, with its type as an enum ONE message arrives on the measured entry, growing from its sender's corner. The type is a proper enum - Received, Sent, Emoji, Image, Link card - switched on the catalog page the way marker-highlight switches its style, with the bubble tail and the Delivered receipt as their own switches. chat-thread remains the conversation-as-scene built from arrivals like this one; the pipe grammar belongs at that level, the enum belongs here. Demo cycles all five types, one at a time, with a type chip naming each. * fix(registry): neutral composer placeholder, gsap 3.14.2 pin, exact font licences Review fixes for #3217: - Rendered composer placeholder "iMessage" -> "Message" in chat-thread, its demo, and message-thread-reveal (technique comments stay as provenance) - notes-reveal now loads gsap@3.14.2 like every other item - Licence wording names each face: Courier Prime OFL 1.1, Permanent Marker Apache-2.0 (verified against embedded name-table records) Mirrored catalog payloads and pages regenerated for the four touched items. |

feat(catalog): group the sidebar by what you came to make (#3194)
* feat(catalog): group the sidebar by what you came to make Nineteen shelves in one column is a list to read, not a menu to scan, and two of them were oversized: Effects held 54 items and Showcases 38, two thirds of which were near-identical code-snippet themes. The shelves now sit under eight openable sections named for what a reader is making, and the editor and terminal themes get a shelf of their own. Every existing shelf name survives underneath, so a bookmark into the catalog still lands where it did. Two things had to change to support nesting. The summary count walks sections as well as shelves, and the filter that preserves hand-written groups now recurses: a section holds groups rather than pages, so a check that only read `pages` found nothing generated in one, kept it as if a human had written it, and appended a fresh copy on every run. * fix(catalog): type the nested page count * fix(catalog): nest shelves inside pages so the sidebar renders them |
