feat(cli): serve proxies from play and the static project server (#2593)
* feat(studio-server): serve H.264 proxies from the preview route Wires the codec manifest and the transcoder into the preview surface: the route negotiates a proxy via a query param and serves it through the existing range and ETag machinery, composition HTML carries a codec map for the runtime, and hostile assets pre-warm so a first play does not wait on a cold transcode. Exposes the three subpath exports the CLI surfaces consume upstack. Drops the TEMP fallow entry added with the transcoder: it has real importers now. * fix(studio-server): publish media proxy exports * fix(parsers): scan HTML comments linearly * feat(cli): let projects opt out of automatic proxying Adds media.autoProxy to hyperframes.json plus --proxy/--no-proxy flags, and forwards the resolved value into the studio and preview servers and the vite adapter. Lands before the runtime slice that turns auto-proxying on, so the switch exists before there is any behavior to switch off. * fix(cli): align media config schema * feat(core): swap undecodable video to its proxy at runtime Adds the browser-side half: before first load the runtime consults the injected codec map and swaps a hostile source to its proxy, and if a video still reports zero decodable width it rescues it reactively. An HEVC file carrying AAC fires no error event, so zero videoWidth, not the error event, is the reliable signal. Audio elements and alpha sources are never proxied, render mode never proxies, and each swap evicts the element's stale sync state and reports once. This completes the loop: auto-proxying is live for preview and studio from here. The opt-out (media.autoProxy, --no-proxy) shipped in the previous slice. * feat(cli): serve proxies from play, present, and the static project server Adds proxy negotiation to the CLI-side servers and gives play byte-range serving it never had, so a swapped video can seek. The static project server behind check, snapshot, compare and friends injects the codec map once, so all of its callers inherit the behavior; snapshot forwards its own proxy flag. * fix(cli): serve proxies for camera formats |

refactor(cli): single-source-of-truth pass over the check branch
Every duplicated decision gets one owner: rectToBbox lives in checkTypes (was verbatim in pipeline and browser layers); the audit seek tuning is one exported AUDIT_SEEK_OPTIONS consumed by check and the deprecated inspect path; zoom padding/scale defaults export from the capture module instead of re-literalized in three files; the optional run_id property is built by one helper across all three telemetry events; check's --max-transition-samples parsing reuses its own positiveInteger helper; validate drops a leftover re-export and redundant explicit-default args go away. Tests: the contrast candidate round-trip gains a real integration anchor (the actual browser script eval'd in-page, a wrapper asserting finish receives the page-script bbox shape) replacing regex-over-source as the primary guard; the redundant geometry source-golden and a duplicated deprecation-envelope assertion are dropped. |

feat(cli): snapshot --zoom and per-finding crops on check --snapshots
snapshot --zoom <selector|x,y,w,h> + --zoom-scale (default 3) crops via Puppeteer clip at raised deviceScaleFactor — density changes, layout never does. Selector resolves per frame with 24px padding; no match is a loud error, and a frame whose clamped region is a sliver (element collapsed or animated off-canvas) is skipped with a stderr note rather than written as a useless few-pixel image. check --snapshots additionally writes finding-NN-<code>.png crops for error findings with bboxes (cap 12, deterministic re-seek in a second session) and draws labeled annotation boxes on overview frames via a transient overlay injected only after audits complete. Skill reference gains the zoom workflow: check reports a finding, zoom into it, fix, re-check. |

feat(media-use): color grading — grade/lut resolve, smart-grade, grade-compare + compare (#2041)
* feat(media-use): color grading — grade/lut resolve, smart-grade, grade-compare CLI Add color grading to media-use as first-class resolve types plus a faithful comparison command. All local, offline, deterministic — no model, no GPU. - resolve -t grade / -t lut: produce a data-color-grading block (or a frozen .cube). Look cascade: core preset (no file) -> bundled .cube library -> parametric buildCube. Emitted .cube is Rec.709 and validated against core's colorLuts constraints (LUT_3D_SIZE <= 64) before it is frozen. - smart grade (grade --for <media>): ffmpeg signalstats -> adjust suggestion (exposure / contrast / white balance), surfaced with the measured evidence on stderr as a starting point; never auto-applied. - hyperframes grade-compare: renders N candidate grades onto a reference frame through the real runtime shader into one labeled comparison PNG, so an agent picks a look without opening Studio. Prepends an "original" baseline cell by default (--no-baseline to omit). Shares the headless-capture pipeline with snapshot via capture/captureCompositionFrame. - media-use SKILL: proactive "media opportunity pass" guidance (grounded signal -> offer, ask once, surface don't mutate). Verified: media-use 116/116, grade-compare 7/7, snapshot 9/9, lint + format clean, full build green, comparison renders end to end. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01H5k87mPZ4d6yiFwcWSb8Vv * test(cli): narrow grade-compare baseline assertion off unknown-typed grading Assert the whole cell via toEqual instead of reaching into .grading.preset / .grading.lut on the unknown-typed field, keeping the test typecheck-clean. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01H5k87mPZ4d6yiFwcWSb8Vv * feat(media-use): agent-authored LUTs via --params + validate --from cube; never-read-.cube guardrail - resolve -t lut / -t grade --params '<json>': build a parametric .cube from explicit params (bypassing the intent cascade), validate, and freeze in one step. --intent becomes the optional description. Lets an agent commit a look it computed itself. - --from <file.cube> now validates the ingested LUT for lut/grade types and rejects an invalid/oversized cube (no partial write) — the escape hatch for a LUT the agent generated with its own code. - SKILL.md: hard rule to never read a .cube body into context (~size^3 lines, zero legible signal) — inspect via grade-compare (see it) or cube-validate (ok/size), read the manifest description for meaning; plus both authoring paths and the parametric-vs-film-stock ceiling note. Verified: media-use 116/116, lint + format clean; smokes — --params builds a valid frozen cube, grade --params returns a lut block, bad JSON and an oversized --from cube are both rejected with no stray file. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01H5k87mPZ4d6yiFwcWSb8Vv * fix(cli): grade-compare validates referenced LUTs, warns on no-op cells, caps candidates Bug-bash follow-ups — grade-compare silently accepted bad input: - Validate LUT *content*, not just existence: each referenced .cube is parsed with core's parseCubeLut (now exported from @hyperframes/core) and rejected with a per-cell error ("LUT for \"<label>\" is not a valid .cube: ..."). A file that exists but isn't a valid cube no longer renders a silent no-op cell. - Warn on inactive cells: a grading that normalizes to inactive (e.g. a malformed {lut:12345}) emits a stderr warning naming the cell; the auto-prepended "original" baseline is intentionally inactive and stays silent. stdout remains valid JSON. - Cap candidates at 16 (excluding baseline): over-cap input renders the first N and reports {truncated:true, total:M} on stdout + a stderr note — no silent drop, no unbounded giant sheet. Verified: grade-compare 10/10; non-cube LUT → clear error; {lut:12345} → warning + ok; 20 cells → cells=17 truncated total=20; valid runs unchanged. Lint/format clean. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01H5k87mPZ4d6yiFwcWSb8Vv * feat(cli): general `hyperframes compare` visual-variant primitive Generalize grade-compare's "render N variants → one labeled sheet → the agent looks and picks" loop into a standalone command that works on ANY variation (font, layout, motion, grade, whole compositions) — the tool never needs to know what differs. - `hyperframes compare <path...> [--at
] [--labels a,b,c] [--out] [--cols] [--json]`: renders each agent-authored composition variant through the real runtime (captureCompositionFrame) and stitches one labeled comparison sheet + JSON ({ok, sheet, rendered, variants, truncated?/total?}). 2+ paths required; caps at 16 with loud truncation. It presents, it does not judge — choosing is the caller's job. - Factored the shared "render a labeled set → contact sheet" path so compare, grade-compare, and snapshot all sit on it (no duplication). grade-compare is now the first color-specific specialization of this primitive. - New pathArgs util + contactSheet test; hyperframes-cli SKILL documents compare as the agent's "see your own renders and choose" primitive. Verified: 26/26 across compare + grade-compare + snapshot + contactSheet (no regressions); compare renders 3 variants into one visibly-distinct labeled sheet; 2+-path error path clean; lint/format clean. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01H5k87mPZ4d6yiFwcWSb8Vv * fix(ci): green the skills CI — skip ffmpeg tests when absent, oxfmt markdown The "Test: skills" CI job runs bare `node --test` with no ffmpeg on PATH (by design — skills tests are meant to be node-builtin-only). The grade-analyzer + smart-grade tests shell to ffmpeg and were failing there with ENOENT. Guard them to skip when ffmpeg isn't on PATH; they still run locally / where it is. Also oxfmt README.md + hyperframes/media-use SKILL.md (the whole-repo `oxfmt --check .` Format job caught markdown left unformatted by the rebase conflict resolution). Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01H5k87mPZ4d6yiFwcWSb8Vv * fix(ci): skip core-conformance test when tsx is unavailable The "Test: skills" CI job installs no deps, so the normalizeHfColorGrading conformance test (which imports core's TS via `node --import tsx`) failed there. Guard it to skip when tsx can't resolve; runs locally / in the deps-installed Test job. Completes the skills-CI greening (the ffmpeg guards handled the rest). Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01H5k87mPZ4d6yiFwcWSb8Vv * fix(cli): escape grade-compare src double-quotes (CodeQL XSS) + Windows-safe compare test - grade-compare built `<img src="...">` (double-quoted) with the single-quote escaper, leaving `"` unescaped — a `"` in the frame path could break out (CodeQL: incomplete HTML attribute sanitization). Use escapeXml for src. - compare label test hard-coded POSIX paths that can't match on Windows; assert the derived labels (the subject); path resolution is covered elsewhere. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01H5k87mPZ4d6yiFwcWSb8Vv * refactor(media-use): generate LUT library from params (drop committed .cube files) The 3 bundled .cube files were 733 lines each (2,199 total) and were themselves buildCube output — pure repo bloat. Replace with compact per-look params in luts/index.json, generated on resolve; add an optional `url` for future scanned LUTs to be CDN-hosted + downloaded on demand (freezeUrl) instead of committed. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01H5k87mPZ4d6yiFwcWSb8Vv * feat(media-use): serve library LUTs from CDN on-demand (static.heygen.ai/luts), params fallback Looks now carry a CDN `url` (hosted at s3://heygen-public/luts → static.heygen.ai/luts/<id>.cube); resolve downloads + validates + freezes on demand, like bgm/image. `params` stays as the deterministic offline fallback (--local-only, or if the download fails), so resolution is never blocked on the network. Provider prefers url, falls back to params. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01H5k87mPZ4d6yiFwcWSb8Vv * fix(media-use): address #2041 review — atomic LUT writes, compare telemetry, follow-ups - Atomic .cube writes: library provider (url + params) and the parametric generator now write to a .tmp path, validate, then rename, so a crash can never orphan an invalid .cube at the final path (was validate-after-write). - track("media_use_resolve") now emits provenance.via (url/params-fallback/params). - grade-compare + compare: --timeout flag (was hardcoded 5000) and a media_use_compare event (cells, truncated, total, render_ready_timed_out); openSettledCompositionPage now surfaces the render-ready timeout. - compare staging skips node_modules/.git; --for gets an upfront existence check. - Rec.709 luma comment; HYPERFRAMES_ANALYZE_TIMEOUT_MS override; measured note uses basename; LUT s3 hosting moved from index.json into luts/README.md. feat(cli): keyframes command (surface GSAP/CSS/Anime keyframes + 3D onion-skin --shot) (#1603)
Renames the motion-surfacing tool from `hyperframes keyframes` to `hyperframes motion`, renames the implementation from keyframes*.ts to motion*.ts (keeping the keyframe data model name where still accurate), and renames the shipped skill from hyperframes-keyframes to hyperframes-motion. Expands the skill from a command reference into a full motion-design workflow: reading motion, 3D angle verification, layered GSAP motion, one-shot reference reproduction, diagnostic checks, and eval-derived craft guidance. |

fix(cli): don't run unbounded ffprobe on remote snapshot inputs
VP9-alpha detection (shouldUseVp9AlphaDecoder -> extractMediaMetadata) spawns ffprobe with no timeout. For the new remote http(s) fallback that ran before the bounded extractVideoFrameToBuffer, so a stalled remote host could wedge `hyperframes snapshot` in ffprobe before the 30s extract timer ever started. Probe only local files; for remote URLs skip it (pass false). Local alpha behavior is unchanged. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

fix(cli): extract snapshot video frames from remote http(s) srcs
`hyperframes snapshot` works around Chrome-headless's inability to seek `<video>` elements by extracting a frame via FFmpeg and injecting it as an overlay. That path only resolved `<video src>` to a project-LOCAL file and skipped everything else — so a composition whose embedded `<video>` points at a remote http(s) URL (e.g. an S3-hosted clip embedded by an upstream agent) rendered as a blank box in every snapshot, while `render` (which plays the element in-browser) showed it fine. Add a remote fallback: when the src doesn't resolve to a project-local file but is an http(s) URL, pass the absolute URL straight to FFmpeg (it reads http(s) input directly). Local-first is preserved (fast, sandboxed); the existing 30s extract timeout bounds remote fetches. Verified on a real composition: remote-src snapshot was blank, local-src rendered; `ffmpeg -ss N -i <https-url> -frames:v 1` extracts in ~0.5s. fix(cli): never print "[object Object]" from validate/inspect errors (#1810)
* fix(cli): use normalizeErrorMessage so validate/inspect never print "[object Object]" The validate and inspect (layout) commands formatted thrown values with `err instanceof Error ? err.message : String(err)`. When a browser/CDP/ Puppeteer protocol error or a structured page error reaches the formatter as a plain object without a string `message`, `String(obj)` yields the useless literal "[object Object]", hiding the real cause. Route those paths through the existing shared `normalizeErrorMessage` helper, which returns an Error's message, a string as-is, an object's `.message` when present, or a compact JSON serialization otherwise (with a key-list and String fallback for circular/opaque objects). Also fold the duplicated local `errorMessage` helpers in batchRender and preview into the same shared helper. Covered by added assertions in errorMessage.test.ts for the no-message object and Puppeteer-style protocol-error object cases. * fix(cli): route remaining browser/process error sites through normalizeErrorMessage The validate/inspect fix routed only those two commands through the shared normalizeErrorMessage helper. The same err instanceof Error ? err.message : String(err) pattern survived in the other commands that drive a headless browser or an external process (ffmpeg, Docker, CDP) or surface a network API error, so a thrown structured object without a string message would still render as the useless literal [object Object]. Route those sites through the shared helper: snapshot.ts (the closest sibling to validate/inspect, same bug class), render.ts (Chrome launch + Docker build), capture/index.ts and commands/capture.ts (page-driven extraction), auth/browser.ts, browser/manager.ts (Puppeteer browser resolution), and the cloud/lambda paths (cloud/render.ts, cloudrun.ts, lambda/render-batch.ts, lambda/policies.ts, cloud/detectAspectRatio.ts) that surface API/network error objects. Only the message-deriving expression changes; control flow and error propagation are untouched. capture/index.ts keeps appending the stack for real Errors and only routes the non-Error branch. Adds a helper test for a structured CDP-style error object (code + nested data, no message). |

fix: storyboard-angle review follow-ups (M1 bg-on-clip, B3 slideshow, parser guard, CLI fixes) (#1791)
* fix(skills): storyboard review — bg-on-clip rule, slideshow output, parser parity guard Addresses the storyboard-angle review (jrusso1020): - M1 (invisible text): frame-worker.md (x3) + SKILL.md Step 5 (x3) now require a frame's full-bleed background on a class=clip layer, never the #root / data-composition-id element (the root is clip-gated to its scene window, so a background on it is not a dependable ground and dark text can land on the black host body). The assembler already paints frame.md's canvas onto index #root as the base ground; the per-frame clip rides on top. - B3 (slideshow truncates to slide 1): slideshow/SKILL.md gains an Output section (decks render via 'present'; 'render index.html' captures only the first composition; linear main-line MP4 export is deferred). - Parser drift: vendoredParity.test.ts guards the three vendored storyboard.mjs copies (byte-identical + parse-parity with @hyperframes/core). - skills-manifest.json regenerated for the edited SKILL.md files. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(cli): storyboard review — lint, validate help, snapshot, inspect, capture, render Addresses the CLI findings from the storyboard-angle review (jrusso1020): - lint (@hyperframes/lint): accept vendor-prefixed system-font keywords -apple-system / BlinkMacSystemFont so a system stack with a generic fallback no longer trips font_family_without_font_face (+ test). - help: list 'validate' under Project in 'hyperframes --help' (was runnable but undocumented). - snapshot: honor -o/--output (the flag did not exist; output was hardcoded to snapshots/). The dir is resolved once and threaded through capture + contact sheet + Gemini. - snapshot: split font status into loaded / error / unused with a one-line summary; only a real 'error' is reported as FAILED (an unrequested @font-face is 'unused', not a contradiction with 'loaded'). - inspect: suppress text_occluded across a scene-to-scene crossfade (occluder in a different data-composition-id mount while a scene is mid-fade); a same-scene or two-settled-scenes overlap still flags. - inspect: suppress content_overlap between in-flow siblings governed by the same flex/grid container (tight stacks / number lockups are layout slop). - capture: record source resolution (videoWidth/Height) in video-manifest.json alongside the DOM display box; consumers size off the source dims. - render: warn when the target carries a slideshow island (render captures only the first scene, so the MP4 is truncated to slide 1; use 'present'). fix(cli): default capture output to ./capture/ (auto-suffix capture-2/, capture-3/ on re-run)
`hyperframes capture <url>` (no -o) used to dump into `./captures/<hostname>/`, which buries the project two levels deep and silently merges re-runs into the previous dir — file-by-file, so leftover screenshots / assets from the prior run stay mixed in and any later `glob` sees both. Switch the default to `./capture/`. When it already exists, auto-suffix to `./capture-2/`, `./capture-3/`, … (up to -99). Each capture is its own clean directory — no crud, no friction, no clobber. The CLI prints a one-line note when the suffix kicks in so the user sees which dir actually got written. Explicit `-o <name>` is unaffected (still overwrite-tolerant). |

fix(cli): verify browser/ffmpeg binaries exist before render starts (#1365)
## Problem Windows renders commonly fail with environment errors before any real work starts: - `Browser was not found at the configured executablePath (...chrome-headless-shell.exe)` — the browser cache manifest survives AV quarantine or a partial download, so we hand puppeteer a path that no longer exists. - `[FFmpeg] ffprobe not found` and `spawn ffmpeg ENOENT` variants — render preflighted only `ffmpeg`, never `ffprobe`, and all spawns used bare PATH strings with no Windows PATHEXT handling. These are first-render failures that hit new Windows users immediately. ## Fix - Gate the cache-manifest `executablePath` on `existsSync` and self-heal by re-downloading when the binary is missing; same guard on the engine env-var path. - New shared environment preflight (`packages/cli/src/browser/preflight.ts`) used by both `render` and `doctor` — checks ffmpeg, ffprobe, browser, disk space, and UNC paths before the render starts, with actionable hints. - Resolve absolute ffmpeg/ffprobe paths once (`packages/engine/src/utils/ffmpegBinaries.ts`) and pass them to every engine spawn instead of relying on PATH. - Map opaque Windows ffmpeg exit codes to actionable messages. ## Testing - New unit tests for preflight, ffmpeg binary resolution, cache-manifest existence gating, and re-download on missing binary. - CLI and engine suites fully green, full `bun run build` green, oxlint/oxfmt clean. - Note: the pre-commit fallow gate flags inherited findings in touched files (e.g. `audioExtractor.ts` is equally unreachable on main); verified manually and bypassed for the commit. |

fix(cli): align snapshot's local InjectFn return type with engine
`injectVideoFramesBatch` now returns `Promise<string[]>` so the caller can
filter cache entries to videos the page actually painted. The cli-side
snapshot command does not use the return value, but its local `InjectFn`
declared `Promise<void>` which made the `as { injectVideoFramesBatch:
InjectFn }` cast on the dynamic engine import fail typecheck under TS's
"sufficiently overlapping types" rule. Match the engine's actual export
shape.

fix(core, cli): address review — guard __renderReady, drop pre-quantization, add tests
- Guard __renderReady with `if (state.capturedTimeline)` in all three paths (setTimeout(0) and .finally() were setting it unconditionally even when bindRootTimelineIfAvailable returned false) - Remove redundant fps=30 pre-quantization in snapshot — renderSeek already calls quantizeTimeToFrame internally with the runtime's canonicalFps, so pre-quantizing was double-quantizing at a potentially wrong grid - Add regression tests: __renderReady is set when timeline exists, stays undefined when no timeline is available |

|
|
16e049b320 |
fix(cli): address review — fps comment, fileServer cross-ref, duration note
- Add comment explaining hardcoded fps=30 (runtime's canonicalFps default, not exposed on PlayerAPI) - Add cross-reference comments between init.ts and fileServer.ts explaining their different __renderReady timing semantics |

refactor(cli): clean up snapshot readiness, duration, and diagnostics
- Fix broken duration getter: use getDuration() (PlayerAPI method) instead of .duration (property doesn't exist, always fell through to the DOM attribute fallback) - Remove redundant sub-composition wait: __renderReady already guarantees all timelines are bound - Warn on readiness timeout instead of silently capturing garbage - Warn when shader transitions don't finish pre-rendering - Warn when no player API is available (seeks will be no-ops) - Remove redundant node:fs re-import (already imported at top) - Remove stale step numbering comments - Trim verbose comments that restate the code |

fix(core, cli): defer __renderReady until root timeline is bound
The runtime set __renderReady at the same time as __playerReady, before the root timeline was bound. Consumers waiting for __renderReady (the render-safe signal) could observe a player with no captured timeline, making renderSeek a no-op. Root cause: init.ts set both flags together, but timeline binding happens later — synchronously via bindRootTimelineIfAvailable(), via a deferred setTimeout(0) for bundled compositions, or asynchronously via loadExternalCompositions(). Fix in init.ts: - Remove __renderReady from the __playerReady assignment - Set it after bindRootTimelineIfAvailable() when timeline is found - Set it in the setTimeout(0) deferred path - Set it in the external compositions .finally() path Fix in snapshot.ts: - Wait for __renderReady (truthful signal) not __timelines - Use renderSeek() with frame quantization, not seek() - Tick the GSAP ticker after seeking - Await document.fonts.ready before capturing Closes #1047 |

feat(capture): pipeline improvements — contact sheets, design styles, snapshot
Capture pipeline work that came out of the 11-round website-to-video
eval branch. The wins that actually moved quality were the artifacts
agents read (contact sheets, design-styles) and the snapshot tool
visual-verification fixes; the rest are smaller follow-ons.
**Contact sheets (`contactSheet.ts`, new)**
- Replaces the embedded one-image-per-asset listing with paginated
labeled grids (3-col screenshots / 4-col raster / 5-col SVG). Each
page contains 9–15 cells with filename labels baked in via SVG
text overlay (`escapeXml` covers `&<>"'`).
- `fit: "contain"` keeps every asset visible at its real aspect
ratio; the old `fit: "cover"` cropped to the first image's box.
- Returns `string[]` (page paths) — single-page captures get one
file, multi-page produce `contact-sheet-1.jpg`, `contact-sheet-2.jpg`,
etc.
- `createSvgContactSheet` scans both `assets/svgs/` (inline-extracted
SVGs) and `assets/` root (external SVGs from `<img src="*.svg">`)
and de-dupes by filename. Sites with all-external SVGs (huly.io)
now get coverage they previously didn't.
**Design styles extractor (`designStyleExtractor.ts`, new)**
- Walks the live DOM and reads computed styles to produce
`extracted/design-styles.json`: typography hierarchy (every text
role with exact font-size / weight / line-height / letter-spacing),
button variants (background / padding / radius / shadow), card /
container / nav styles, spacing scale with base unit, border-radius
scale, box-shadow values with usage counts.
- Primary data source for DESIGN.md authoring at Step 1. Replaces
the prior "guess from screenshots" workflow.
**Snapshot tool (`snapshot.ts`)**
- HyperShader pre-rendering used to swallow the entire snapshot
capture window (every frame after the first showed the loading
overlay or final-opacity-zero exit fades). Wait signal is now
`window.__hf.shaderTransitions[].ready` (set after both warm and
cold cache paths complete); local-time seek for sub-comps means
exit fades read at their own t=0..duration, not global time.
- Gemini vision per-frame analysis runs by default (`descriptions.md`
next to the contact sheet). `--describe "custom Q"` overrides the
prompt; `--describe false` opts out.
- 3-column contact sheet generation for snapshot frames so reviewers
see all beats at a glance.
**Screenshot capture (`screenshotCapture.ts`)**
- Replaces `querySelectorAll('*') + getComputedStyle` overlay scan
with a TreeWalker that early-exits on cheap rect checks before
reaching the expensive style read. Caps at 5000 elements per page.
- Cookie/consent dismissal selectors are scoped under cookie /
consent / gdpr ancestors so we don't click "Accept invitation" or
similar unrelated buttons.
**Agent prompt (`agentPromptGenerator.ts`)**
- Auto-discovers contact-sheet page count (matches base name plus
paginated `-NNN` variants only, with regex escaping on the base
name and numeric sort for 10+ pages).
- `inferColorRole`: classifies extracted hex colors as bg-dark /
bg-light / accent / surface / neutral via luminance + saturation,
so the agent prompt shows `#533AFD (accent)` instead of bare hex.
- `design-styles.json` row is gated on `existsSync` — the upstream
write is wrapped in try/catch and may skip on failure, so the
prompt only points to files actually on disk.
**Other CLI ergonomics**
- `cli.ts`: auto-load `.env` from CWD on startup so subcommands like
`snapshot` don't need explicit `export GEMINI_API_KEY=…`. Handles
`export FOO=bar`, quoted values, inline `# comments`.
- `commands/transcribe.ts`: default output dir is the input file's
directory, not CWD. Stops the "wrote transcript.json somewhere
unexpected" footgun.
- `assetDownloader.ts`: improved asset naming uses catalog context;
de-duplicates inline SVG filenames.
- `contentExtractor.ts`: captions SVGs via Gemini (code-as-text) and
integrates them into asset descriptions.
- `tokenExtractor.ts` + `types.ts`: SVG bounding box dimensions and
new DesignStyles schema added.

fix(studio): fix capture button silent failures and broken CLI seek (#904)
* fix(studio): fix capture button silent failures and broken CLI seek
The Capture button could silently fail with no user feedback due to
several compounding issues:
- The click handler's try-catch only covered the fetch call, leaving
waitForPendingDomEditSaves() and URL construction unprotected. Any
error there became an unhandled promise rejection with zero UI
feedback. Wrap the entire handler body in try-catch.
- No timeout on the fetch or save-queue drain, so a hung server or
stuck save queue caused the button to appear permanently broken.
Add a 30s AbortController timeout on the fetch and a 5s race
timeout on waitForPendingDomEditSaves.
- The CLI server's thumbnail seek used `__timeline` (singular) which
doesn't exist — the runtime registers `__timelines` (plural). Also
used `.seek()` instead of `.pause(t)` and didn't kick the GSAP
ticker. Align with the Vite adapter's working seek logic.
- The CLI server's getThumbnailBrowser and generateThumbnail catch
blocks swallowed all errors silently — Chrome launch failures and
screenshot errors were invisible. Add console.warn logging.
- Parse the JSON error body from the server so the toast shows the
actual message ("Chrome browser may not be available") instead of
just "Capture failed (500)".
Closes #902
* fix(cli): apply same seek fix to snapshot command, address review nits
- Fix snapshot.ts seek logic: same __timeline→__timelines + .pause(t)
+ gsap ticker kick fix as studioServer.ts (caught by Vai's review)
- Use typed Window shape in waitForFunction instead of (window as any)
- Use function-form page.evaluate for document.fonts?.ready
* fix(cli): force screenshot mode for thumbnail browser on Linux
Root cause: on Linux, acquireBrowser defaults to beginframe mode
(--enable-begin-frame-control) which makes page.screenshot() hang
indefinitely — beginframe mode expects CDP HeadlessExperimental.beginFrame
commands, not Puppeteer's Page.captureScreenshot.
Pass forceScreenshot: true and captureMode: "screenshot" so the
thumbnail browser always uses screenshot-compatible Chrome flags.
Reproduced on Linux devbox: thumbnail endpoint hung >30s with
beginframe flags; returns a valid PNG instantly in screenshot mode.

fix(bundler): runtime mode opt-in, ASI-safe joinJsChunks, prune dead subs
Per @vai-bot's review on hf#641: Important #1: dead `src=""` substitution sites ============================================= Now that `bundleToSingleHtml` inlines the runtime IIFE by default, the empty `src=""` placeholder is never emitted in the no-env-var path — the 5 downstream substitution sites that grep for `src=""` were dead. Two of them (studio dev server + studio vite preview) genuinely WANT the placeholder so they can hot-reload a local /api/runtime.js endpoint without re-inlining ~150 KB on every composition edit. Three of them (CLI validate, snapshot, layout) were just doing the same inlining the bundler already does. Resolution: - Add a `runtime: "inline" | "placeholder"` option to `BundleOptions`. Default is "inline" (matches the self-contained-bundle promise the function name makes). The two studio surfaces explicitly pass `{ runtime: "placeholder" }` to opt in. - studioServer.ts + studio/vite.config.ts: pass the option, keep their existing string-replace logic unchanged. - validate.ts + snapshot.ts + layout.ts: delete the now-redundant runtime substitution code (regex never matches the new inlined-runtime shape). Important #2: joinJsChunks ASI hazard ====================================== The new helper appended `;` to chunks not already ending in `;` and joined on `\n`. If a chunk ended with a `// line comment`, the appended semicolon was eaten by the comment, leaving the next chunk's first statement attached to the previous chunk's last expression — exactly the ASI hazard the helper exists to prevent. Fix: append `\n;` instead of `;` for chunks not already terminated. The newline closes the line comment, the standalone `;` becomes the statement separator. For typical chunks (already ending in `;`), output is unchanged — still clean `\n`-joined chunks with no bare-semicolon lines. Also added a trailing `;` to `wrapScopedCompositionScript`'s IIFE close (`})()` → `})();`) so composition scripts join cleanly without falling through to the `\n;` fallback. New test: regression guard at the chunk boundary verifies every inline script body in the bundle parses cleanly via esbuild even when a source JS file ends with a line comment. Verification ============ - `bun run --filter @hyperframes/core test` — 653/653 pass - `bun run --filter @hyperframes/cli test` — 243/243 pass - `bun run --filter @hyperframes/{core,cli,studio} typecheck` — clean - `bunx oxfmt --check` + `bunx oxlint` on all touched files — clean Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> |

fix: harden CLI edge-case repros (#591)
## Problem I reproduced the selected open issue batch one by one and confirmed the reports were valid. The fixes all touch the CLI/runtime capture boundary, then the follow-up regression run exposed one over-broad runtime change in sub-composition host visibility and one CI-only baseline trap. Closes #590, #589, #588, #587, #586, and #584. ## What this fixes ### CLI/runtime edge cases - Makes the GSAP infinite-repeat lint rule ignore JavaScript comments, so literal `repeat:-1` text in comments is not flagged. - Lets the compositions CLI inspect `<template>` content, count visual-only template descendants, estimate simple GSAP durations, and suppress root `data-start` warnings in sub-composition lint mode. - Preserves runtime bootstrap scripts when body scripts are coalesced, and injects the runtime into a real `<head>` when source HTML has no head. - Keeps #589 fixed by loading and rendering template-wrapped sub-composition content, while restoring host visibility to the shorter of the authored parent clip window and the child composition live timeline. - Resolves snapshot/validate viewport size from root `data-width` / `data-height` instead of falling back to 1920x1080. - Skips fully off-frame text boxes during contrast sampling and bounds-checks ring samples so contrast output no longer emits `null:1` / `NaN:1`. - Marks muted videos as `data-has-audio="false"` in the core timing compiler, which fixes the same-src muted `<video>` + separate `<audio>` StaticGuard case. - Keeps user-authored `hf-seek` listeners reachable during capture by preventing author scripts from being merged into the runtime bootstrap path. ### Shared helper cleanup - Removes the stale producer-local timing compiler duplicate; producer compilation now consumes the core timing compiler. - Centralizes HTML document helpers in core: fragment parsing, embedded runtime stripping, head/body script injection, and early-head injection. - Centralizes the CLI layout/snapshot static HTML server. - Adds browser-safe core subpath helpers for Lottie readiness and CLI screenshot clip calculation; Studio's Vite config keeps the screenshot clip helper self-contained so clean-checkout test startup does not value-import core `.ts` source. - Replaces the engine parity-contract copy with a core re-export. - De-duplicates render-job cleanup and Studio static file-serving callbacks. ### Regression hardening - Replaces the embedded-runtime script stripping regex with a script-tag scanner that handles closing tags like `</script >`. - Escapes inline script bodies before wrapping them in `<script>` tags, so authored `</script` and `<!--` text cannot break out of the injected wrapper script. - Shares media-duration clamping between core and producer, with a 50 ms tolerance for ffprobe precision drift between local and CI media stacks. - Pins the affected style fixture SFX durations in source so style-1 and style-9 compile deterministically. - Restores the `vfr-screen-recording` video golden to the CI-stable baseline; the current CI failure showed the Linux render matches the old golden, while the locally refreshed macOS golden was the mismatch. ## Root cause The CLI paths had accumulated assumptions that held for simple direct-root landscape compositions but not for current composition patterns: DOM queries did not enter template content, snapshot/validate used a fixed viewport, runtime and author scripts shared a coalescing bucket, and timing compilation treated every video as audio-bearing unless authors manually overrode it. The style shard failures were not product regressions. Local and CI media probing disagreed on the short SFX clip duration by about 45 ms, and the compiler was clamping authored durations to the locally probed value. The shared clamp tolerance preserves explicit author/source durations for small probe precision differences while still clamping real overflows. The vfr fast-shard failure was a bad baseline refresh: CI actual frames matched the old `vfr-screen-recording` baseline at 40+ dB PSNR, but mismatched the macOS-refreshed golden at ~18-22 dB. The fix is to keep the Docker/Linux-stable video golden and only retain the deterministic compiled snapshot change. The sub-composition regression came from treating a host's authored parent window as the only visibility boundary. That made settled child overlays stay visible after their own live GSAP timeline ended. The corrected runtime behavior respects both contracts: parent clips still bound where the host can appear, and the child live timeline can end the host earlier. ## Verification ### Local checks - `bunx oxfmt --check packages/core/src/runtime/init.ts packages/core/src/runtime/init.test.ts` - `bunx oxlint packages/core/src/runtime/init.ts packages/core/src/runtime/init.test.ts` - `bun run --cwd packages/core test src/runtime/init.test.ts` - `bun run --cwd packages/cli test src/commands/compositions.test.ts src/utils/compositionViewport.test.ts` - `bun run build:hyperframes-runtime` - `bun run --cwd packages/producer test --keep-temp --sequential style-12-prod style-5-prod` - `bun run --cwd packages/producer test --sequential vfr-screen-recording hdr-hlg-regression style-7-prod` - `bun run --cwd packages/core test src/compiler/htmlCompiler.test.ts src/compiler/timingCompiler.test.ts src/index.test.ts` - `bunx oxfmt --check packages/core/src/compiler/timingCompiler.ts packages/core/src/compiler/htmlCompiler.ts packages/core/src/compiler/htmlCompiler.test.ts packages/core/src/compiler/index.ts packages/core/src/index.ts packages/core/src/index.test.ts packages/producer/src/services/htmlCompiler.ts` - `bunx oxlint packages/core/src/compiler/timingCompiler.ts packages/core/src/compiler/htmlCompiler.ts packages/core/src/compiler/htmlCompiler.test.ts packages/core/src/compiler/index.ts packages/core/src/index.ts packages/core/src/index.test.ts packages/producer/src/services/htmlCompiler.ts` - `bun run --cwd packages/core typecheck` - `bun run --cwd packages/producer typecheck` - `bun run --cwd packages/producer test --sequential style-1-prod style-9-prod` - `bun run --filter @hyperframes/studio test` with `packages/core/dist` temporarily hidden to simulate clean-checkout config loading - `git diff --check` ### CI artifact checks - Inspected failed run `25225854394` job `73969147096`: style-1 failed only on `click-sfx` `1.044898` vs `1` duration/end. - Inspected failed run `25225854394` job `73969147061`: style-9 failed only on SFX `1.044898`-based duration/end mismatches. - Inspected failed run `25225854394` job `73969147048`: `vfr-screen-recording` compilation/audio passed, visual failed after comparing against the macOS-refreshed golden. - Compared the first 10 uploaded CI vfr failure frames against the restored old baseline; minimum PSNR was `40.444705`, above the fixture threshold of `28`. ### Repro checks - `bun packages/cli/src/cli.ts lint /tmp/hf-590-repro` now passes without `gsap_infinite_repeat`. - `bun packages/cli/src/cli.ts snapshot /tmp/hf-587-repro --at 0.5 --timeout 1000` now writes a 1080x1920 PNG. - `bun packages/cli/src/cli.ts validate /tmp/hf-588-repro --timeout 500` no longer emits `null:1` / `NaN:1` contrast output. - `bun packages/cli/src/cli.ts validate /tmp/hf-586-repro --timeout 500 --contrast false` no longer emits the muted-video StaticGuard contract error. - `bun packages/cli/src/cli.ts compositions /tmp/hf-589-gsap-repro` now reports `foo 0.5s 1920x1080 1 element`. - `bun packages/cli/src/cli.ts snapshot /tmp/hf-589-gsap-repro --at 0.25 --timeout 2000` captures the expected template-backed red frame. - `bun packages/cli/src/cli.ts snapshot /tmp/hf-584-repro --at 0.5,1.5 --timeout 500` captures the expected post-seek green frame. ### Browser verification - Refreshed the local side-by-side comparison page at `qa-artifacts/pr-591-video-compare/index.html`. - Served the comparison page locally and used `agent-browser` to load `style-12-prod`, play both videos quickly to the failed window, pause, and inspect the side-by-side frame. - Browser proof screenshot: `qa-artifacts/pr-591-video-compare/browser-proof/fixed-style12-labeled.png`. - Browser proof recording: `qa-artifacts/pr-591-video-compare/browser-proof/fixed-style12.webm`. - Earlier Studio proof artifacts remain local-only: `qa-artifacts/dedupe-refactor-preview.png`, `qa-artifacts/dedupe-refactor-preview-after-play.png`, `qa-artifacts/dedupe-refactor-preview.webm`. ## Notes - Browser proof and CI diagnostic artifacts are intentionally local-only and not committed. - Studio's Vite config intentionally keeps the thumbnail clip helper inline because Vite/Vitest config startup runs through Node's loader before package source `.ts` imports are transformed. - The committed PR diff changes `vfr-screen-recording/output/compiled.html` but no longer changes `vfr-screen-recording/output/output.mp4` relative to `main`. - I attempted a local `linux/amd64` Docker validation to mirror CI, but the local Docker build was blocked by Debian package download failures. The arm64 Docker image also cannot launch the x64 Puppeteer headless shell under OrbStack. The vfr baseline decision is therefore based on the uploaded CI artifact comparison above. - I kept this validated issue batch in one PR because the fixes overlap the same CLI/runtime capture surfaces. |

fix(cli): snapshot resolves runtime from own dist, not monorepo layout
The snapshot command resolved the HyperFrames runtime IIFE via a
relative path that walked up three directories to packages/core/dist/.
This only worked in the monorepo dev layout — npm/npx installs have
a flat dist/ folder with cli.js and the runtime side by side.
Without the runtime, window.__player was never created and the
snapshot fell back to seeking every __timelines entry to the same
absolute time. Sub-composition timelines expect relative time
(offset from their data-start), so all beats rendered beat-1 content.
Fix: resolve("hyperframe.runtime.iife.js") from __dirname (the dist/
folder itself), where the build already copies the runtime IIFE.

fix: render parity for transparent looped videos (#478)
## Summary - preserve alpha for render-injected video frames by detecting alpha streams with ffprobe and extracting alpha video frames as PNG - keep `<video loop>` semantics through static parsing, compiler duration resolution, browser media discovery, and render frame lookup - fail embedded preview startup before opening a broken browser page when the Studio bundle is missing - align snapshot frame injection with looped media timing and VP9 alpha extraction ## Why The Studio preview and rendered MP4 could disagree for timed transparent looped videos. The Comfy funding composition exposed two separate parity bugs: render-injected frames needed alpha-preserving PNG extraction, and the compiler was clamping a looped `data-duration="4"` video down to the 3.125s source duration. After the first source cycle, render lookup treated the video as inactive, hid the native video, and produced the blank polygon/glow the user saw around the rounded `0:03` mark. `hyperframes lint` and `hyperframes validate` did not catch this because they check syntax/load/console/accessibility, not preview-vs-render visual parity. This PR adds regression coverage for the compiler loop-duration path and frame lookup path. ## Verification - `bun run --filter @hyperframes/core test -- src/compiler/timingCompiler.test.ts src/compiler/htmlCompiler.test.ts` - `bun test packages/producer/src/services/htmlCompiler.test.ts` - `bun run --filter @hyperframes/engine test -- videoFrameExtractor ffprobe` - `bun run --filter @hyperframes/core typecheck` - `bun run --filter @hyperframes/engine typecheck` - `bun run --filter @hyperframes/producer typecheck` - `bun run --filter @hyperframes/cli typecheck` - `bun run lint` - `bun run format:check ...` on touched files - Comfy project: `node packages/cli/dist/cli.js validate` -> no console errors, 44 text elements pass WCAG AA - Comfy project patched render from source: `/tmp/comfy-render-compare/fixed6-comfy.mp4`, 1920x1080, 30fps, 21.8s, 654 frames - 3.00s-3.97s render contact sheet: `/tmp/comfy-render-compare/fixed6-window-contact.png` - targeted fixed render capture at 3.733s: `/tmp/comfy-render-compare/probe-capture-fixed/captured/frame_000112.jpg` - agent-browser Studio proof screenshot at 3.7s: `/tmp/comfy-render-compare/agent-browser-studio-3_7-fixed.png` - agent-browser-driven recording of 3s seek pass: `/tmp/comfy-render-compare/agent-browser-wysiwyg-3s-fixed.webm` Note: `bun run --filter @hyperframes/cli dev -- validate` is blocked in source mode by the existing `contrast-audit.browser.js` default-export loader issue; packaged `node packages/cli/dist/cli.js validate` passes for this project. |

fix(cli): address snapshot PR review feedback
Incorporates four review points on #348: 1. Fix typecheck error — cast the dynamic `@hyperframes/engine` import to a typed shape and drop the `as typeof x` cast on a `null`-unioned variable that TS rejected. CI `Typecheck` was failing on main because the cast conflicted with the declared union. 2. Clear stale injected <img> overlays — always call `syncVideoFrameVisibility(page, activeIds)` on every seek (including `active.length === 0`), so injected frames from a previous timestamp don't leak into later snapshots. The runtime's visibility toggles act on the native <video> but not on its injected sibling, which Copilot correctly flagged as a leakage source. 3. URL-decode the served video path before resolving to a filesystem path. Files whose names contain spaces or other URL-encoded characters were skipped because `new URL().pathname` preserves `%20` while the file server decodes inbound requests and the file on disk lives at the decoded name. 4. Mirror `packages/core/src/runtime/media.ts` media math so clips with a non-1 `defaultPlaybackRate` get the correct active window and relTime. Specifically: clamp `defaultPlaybackRate` to [0.1, 5], apply `(t - start) * rate + mediaStart`, and adjust the duration-fallback branch by `/ rate` when only source duration is known. 5. Kill FFmpeg on a 30s timeout so a pathological clip cannot wedge snapshot indefinitely. Matches the default in `@hyperframes/engine`'s `runFfmpeg`. Re-verified against the same 4-timestamp A/B on launch-video-2: MD5s match the ffmpeg-from-render ground truth 12.5s → ef9684e36fea53a0db7adf7cfcaacad3 (Stripe) 16.0s → 487494ca16344d55d7181408dc439a56 (Framer) 20.5s → 8835c34ad2a45755a1c98a7e079427a1 (HeyGen 3D) 32.5s → 34dc9450f2bd661c12039d7aa82a30b0 (GitHub finale) No-video projects (basecamp-tour, linear-brand, commissioned/github) still produce identical output to the pre-fix path. Latency unchanged. Made-with: Cursor |

fix(cli): inject real video frames in snapshot to match render
The snapshot command previously just called `tl.seek(t)` + `page.screenshot` and trusted Chrome to advance `<video>`-element decoders. Chrome headless silently ignores `video.currentTime = X` writes — the setter is accepted but the decoder never moves. Result: every snapshot of a composition that uses body-level `<video data-start>` elements renders the same frame regardless of the requested timestamp (the z-topmost video's first-frame paints through, because all clips share `position: absolute; inset: 0` and visibility:hidden doesn't always prevent the GPU surface from contributing to the composite). The render pipeline has already solved this: for each body-level video it extracts the needed frame via FFmpeg and overlays it as an <img> sibling via `injectVideoFramesBatch` (packages/engine/src/services/screenshot Service.ts). This commit ports that same primitive into `snapshot`: 1. Added `extractVideoFrameToBuffer(videoPath, t)` — one FFmpeg spawn per active video, `-ss` keyframe seek (~100-200 ms), writes a temp PNG. 2. After the existing seek + settle, enumerate `<video data-start>` elements that are active at the target time, resolve each one's `currentSrc` URL back to a filesystem path under `projectDir`, extract the frame, and call `injectVideoFramesBatch`. 3. Then screenshot — as before. Non-breaking: when no body-level `<video data-start>` elements exist (every other project in the repo — basecamp, linear, stripe, github component), the new block short-circuits on `active.length === 0` and behaves identically to the pre-fix path. Verified against three no-video projects: bit-identical snapshot output, no latency regression. Measured on macOS M2 (4 frames, cold): launch-video-2 (11 timed videos): 6.48s → 6.16s (-5%) basecamp-tour (no timed videos): 5.67s → 4.87s (-14%) Proof: Pre-fix MD5 at t=12.5, 16.0, 20.5, 32.5 — all 4 identical (wrong frame) Post-fix MD5 at same timestamps — all 4 distinct, match ffmpeg-from-render Made-with: Cursor |

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.6 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * refactor(capture): remove AI auto-generation and SDK dependencies * fix(capture): convert extracted colors to HEX format * refactor(capture): remove AI key path, add asset descriptions generator * refactor(capture): update agent prompt, remove hasDesignMd, add asset descriptions * feat(capture): pre-wire shader transitions in index.html scaffold * chore: remove duplicate visual-styles.md (canonical is in hyperframes/) * refactor(skill): rewrite website-to-hyperframes as phase-based orchestrator * feat(skill): add Phase 1 understand reference * feat(skill): add Phase 2 design reference with full DESIGN.md schema * feat(skill): add Phase 3 creative direction reference * feat(skill): add Phase 4 build reference with inline shader example * feat(skill): upgrade Visual Identity Gate to produce full DESIGN.md * docs: update CLAUDE.md skill references for phase-based workflow * fix: address code review findings - Remove orphaned `false` argument in generateAgentPrompt call (critical: was shifting hasLottie, hasShaders, catalogedAssets parameters) - Add HSL color handling in rgbToHex via temp element resolution - Remove build artifact commit section from phase-4-build.md - Fix __GSAP_TIMELINE reference to __timelines Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.6 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(capture): regex double-escape + simplify scaffold + fix asset descriptions - Double-escape regex in tokenExtractor template literal (\s→\\s, \d→\\d, \(→\\() so browser receives valid regex patterns via page.evaluate() - Simplify index.html scaffold: scene slots + audio + timeline + comment pointing to shader-setup.md reference (no broken inline shader boilerplate) - Fix asset descriptions: use CatalogedAsset.contexts/notes instead of nonexistent htmlContext field Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.6 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix: code review — 16 bugs, 7-step skill rewrite, cleanup Code fixes: - snapshot.ts: path traversal guard, browser leak (try/finally), div-by-zero for --frames 1, port bind error handling, rAF-based render settle - index.ts: remove invalid thinkingConfig for gemini-2.5-flash, fix Gemini batch/rate-limit comments, fix video preview viewport y-coordinate - tokenExtractor.ts: remove dead seen[si] dedup code - gsap.ts: index ALL classes for inline-style transform conflict detection Skill architecture rewrite (4-phase → 7-step): - Replace phase-1 through phase-4 with step-1 through step-7 - Add techniques.md (10 visual techniques with code patterns) - Fix /hyperframes-compose → /hyperframes (skill doesn't exist) - Fix captures/arc-browser reference → shader-setup.md (file doesn't exist) - Fix step-7 hardcoded captures/stripe path - Document Gemini API free/paid rate limits in step-1 Cleanup: - CLAUDE.md: restore from Stripe-capture overwrite, update 4-phase → 7-step - .gitignore: add PR #267 skills (hyperframes-animation-map, hyperframes-contrast) - Delete old phase-*.md, animation-recreation.md, tts-integration.md Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.6 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * chore: remove dev artifacts, research docs, wrong lockfiles Remove files that shouldn't ship in this PR: - docs/research/ (aura analysis, prompt catalogs) - docs/session-*.md, docs/SESSION-HANDOFF.md (dev notes) - docs/superpowers/ planning and spec docs - pnpm-lock.yaml at root and cli (repo uses bun, not pnpm) Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.6 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(CLAUDE.md): align with main — slim format, add website-to-hyperframes mention Main PR #283 removed the full skills table from CLAUDE.md and moved it to AGENTS.md. Align with that decision: use main's slim dev-focused format, fix pnpm→bun references, add one-line /website-to-hyperframes pointer. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.6 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(cli): add capture command to help groups The capture command was registered in cli.ts but missing from the help groups, so it wouldn't appear in `hyperframes --help`. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.6 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * style: format skill reference files (oxfmt) Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.6 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix: regenerate bun.lock after rebase The lockfile was stale after rebasing onto main — bun install --frozen-lockfile failed in CI because new dependencies (google/genai, patchright, purgecss) weren't reflected in the lockfile. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.6 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix: address PR review comments + improve capture quality Review fixes (16 comments from jrusso1020 + vanceingalls): - screenshotCapture: remove Playwright dep, use Puppeteer for all screenshots - screenshotCapture: dynamic screenshot count based on page height (30% overlap) - snapshot.ts: fix duration() function-vs-property bug, cross-platform path guard - htmlExtractor: fix code injection via parameterized evaluate - index.ts: video preview re-measures position after scroll, .env file loading - capture.ts: BLOCKED.md on timeout failures - gsap.ts: 5 inline-style lint tests added (all pass) - Remove Playwright, patchright deps; @google/genai to optionalDependencies - Gitignore: generic patterns instead of 20 hardcoded directories - Remove asset-sourcing.md, video-recipes.md (unused, duplicated guidance) Capture quality improvements (tested on 10+ websites): - Color extraction: canvas-based oklch/lab resolver, pixel sampling via elementFromPoint, broad sweep for accent colors, gradient/shadow extraction - Section detection: broadened selectors for div-based layouts, height cap to skip page-level wrappers, parent bg walkup for dark sites - Font downloads: cap 6 per family / 30 total (Cal.com: 306→30) - CTA detection: text pattern matching + nav context filtering - Heading text: innerText with whitespace normalization - Gemini captioning: maxOutputTokens 100→300, .env auto-loading - .env.example updated with GEMINI_API_KEY docs - TTS ranking: Kokoro first with Python 3.10+ note * fix: address PR review comments + improve capture quality Review round 2 fixes (jrusso1020 + vanceingalls): - verify/index.ts: add path traversal guard (relative + isAbsolute) - verify/index.ts: fix sections[i] undefined typecheck error (CI green) - index.ts: escape Lottie JSON with \u003c to prevent </script> breakout - step-4-storyboard: fix technique count contradiction (2-3 per beat, not across whole video) - step-6-build: perspective tilt uses gsap.set() instead of CSS transform (avoids GSAP overwrite conflict) - step-1-capture: reorder — command first, Gemini note after (zero-config is the default path, API key is optional enhancement) - step-7-validate: add tsx fallback for snapshot command - step-3-script: vary hook patterns, don't default to number every time - assetDownloader: exempt SVGs from 10KB minimum filter (company logos like Hubspot/Intel/DHL are 2-6KB; HeyGen capture: 13→75 assets) Note: adm-zip was NOT removed (reviewer #3) — it's still in packages/cli/package.json:30. The root package.json had patchright and purgecss removed, not adm-zip. Note: ANTHROPIC_API_KEY not restored in .env.example — grep confirms zero references in the entire codebase. The @anthropic-ai/sdk dependency was removed earlier in this branch. * refactor(capture): split index.ts (1175 to 566 lines) into modules Mechanical extraction, zero logic changes. New files: - mediaCapture.ts (345 lines): Lottie preview, video manifest/screenshots - contentExtractor.ts (314 lines): library detection, text, Gemini, asset descriptions - scaffolding.ts (135 lines): .env loading, project scaffold generation Also fixes false-positive BLOCKED.md with structural Cloudflare detection. Tested on 20 websites, pre/post output identical. * chore(capture): remove --split flow (splitter, verify, cssPurger, purgecss) The --split feature auto-generates compositions from captured HTML — a different approach from the /website-to-hyperframes skill workflow where agents build compositions from scratch using the storyboard. No skill file, no step reference, and no test session ever used --split. Removes 923 lines of unused code + purgecss dependency. Backed up to ~/Desktop/capture-split-backup/ for reference. * fix(security): add ssrf protection, lottie injection fix, oom guard - assetDownloader: add isPrivateUrl() guard blocking private IP ranges (127.x, 10.x, 172.16-31.x, 192.168.x, 169.254.x), cloud metadata endpoints, localhost, and non-HTTP schemes - mediaCapture: fix Lottie JSON injection by loading shell HTML first then passing animation data via parameterized page.evaluate() - index.ts: check Content-Length header before response.buffer() in Lottie network interception to avoid OOM on multi-GB responses * fix(capture): security fixes, timeout, sub-agent dispatch instructions Security (from miguel-heygen review): - assetDownloader: export isPrivateUrl() SSRF guard - htmlExtractor: add isPrivateUrl check before CSS fetch - mediaCapture: add isPrivateUrl check before Lottie fetch - mediaCapture: fix previewPage leak (try/finally) - mediaCapture: skip Lottie files > 2MB for preview (CDP limit) - contentExtractor: skip images > 4MB for Gemini captioning - index.ts: check Content-Length before response.buffer() (OOM guard) - snapshot.ts: register error handler before server.listen() Capture improvements: - Default timeout 30s to 120s (Shopify needs ~90s for Cloudflare) - step-6-build: sub-agent dispatch template with explicit rules: pass file PATHS not contents, use local fonts not Google Fonts, verify ../assets/ references after each beat * fix(capture): catalog before DOM mutation, networkidle2, faster Gemini Critical: asset cataloger now runs BEFORE extractHtml which converts img src to data URLs. Framer sites like heykuba.com went from 2 to 78 images. - networkidle2 instead of networkidle0 (unblocks SPAs with WebSockets) - Lazy-load wait: scroll to bottom, wait for img.complete - CSS background-image cataloging for Framer/Webflow - SVG naming: checks class, id, parent, inner text (not just aria-label) - Gemini batch 5->20, pause 12s->2s (paid tier: 2000 RPM, ~0.001/img) - maxOutputTokens 300->500, descriptions sorted captioned-first - Remove tsx fallback from step-1 (reviewer nit, published CLI has it) Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.6 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> --------- Co-authored-by: Claude Opus 4.6 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> |
