refactor(lint): drop seven rules that fire on correct compositions (#3366)
Each rule below either reports a hazard the compiler or runtime already
prevents, duplicates another rule's invariant with a weaker detector, or
cannot be cleared by its own fixHint. Measured over the 643 shipped
registry HTML files, this cuts lint output from 1740 findings to 507
(-70.9%) and removes 40 errors, with no new codes introduced.
- scene_layer_missing_visibility_kill: regex heuristic keyed on `#sceneN`
ids. It only accepts the literal string `visibility: "hidden"`, so the
canonical GSAP hard kill (`tl.set(el, { autoAlpha: 0 })`, which sets
visibility hidden at runtime) never clears it — an unfixable error. It
also matched the `0` inside `opacity: 0.5` and treated `.from({opacity:
0})` entrances as exits. gsap_exit_missing_hard_kill owns this invariant
using parsed tween timing and real clip boundaries, and accepts every
hidden encoding.
- unscoped_gsap_selector: wrapScopedCompositionScript already rewrites
string GSAP targets to the composition root for every sub-composition
script (pinned by compositionScoping.test.ts "executes document and GSAP
selectors inside the composition root"). The rule also never fired on a
standalone sub-composition file or a <template> sub-comp.
- caption_transcript_parse_error: required the inline TRANSCRIPT array to
be strict JSON so Studio could read it, but Studio's parseTranscriptArray
already normalizes unquoted keys, single quotes, and trailing commas. It
errored on ten shipped caption components whose transcripts Studio parses.
- composition_self_attribute_selector: warned that
`[data-composition-id="x"] .y` leaks across instances, but
scopeCssToComposition rewrites that selector to each instance's runtime
scope. It was also the pattern the rest of the toolchain prescribes.
- timed_element_missing_visibility_hidden: strict subset of
timed_element_missing_clip_class, which reports the same condition as an
error, so it only ever added a second line saying the same thing.
- pointer_events_none: Studio selection ergonomics only, no render impact,
on 124 of 211 shipped blocks.
- google_fonts_import: the producer resolves Google Fonts during
compile/render, as the message itself said.
system_font_will_alias is narrowed to distributed/Lambda renders, where
system-font capture is off and the fallback is a real defect. Under a local
render the substitution is the renderer working as designed, so the info
tier is gone.
The three tests that used composition_self_attribute_selector as a probe
for "this style source was collected" now use scoped_css_missing_wrapper,
which still fires once per source.

fix(core,producer,cli): pre-flight validation for empty/malformed sub-compositions (#1831)
* fix(core, producer, cli): pre-flight validation for empty/malformed sub-compositions The #1 render failure bucket in production telemetry (PostHog project 356858, dashboard 1783183 "HyperFrames — Bottom-Line & Activation"; ~65-69K occurrences / ~27-28K affected users over 30 days, ~80% via AI-agent authoring flows) is a `data-composition-src` reference pointing at a scene file that is empty, malformed, or missing. Root cause, traced end-to-end: - The literal error "Composition HTML is empty or could not be parsed: <path>" is real (not a PostHog paraphrase) — thrown by a since-reverted guard in packages/core/src/compiler/inlineSubCompositions.ts (#1364), then changed to a silent skip in #1678 to avoid aborting renders on partial content during authoring. #1629 added per-assembler guards for 3 skill workflows (product-launch-video, faceless-explainer, pr-to-video), but general-video and hand-authored flows — where the dominant filename `scene-title.html` (40K+/68K of the bucket) originates — have no assembler and thus no guard. #1678 assumed the assembler guards from #1629 covered this pre-render; they only covered 3 of the many authoring flows. - On current `main`, an empty/malformed data-composition-src file no longer crashes or throws during render — it's silently dropped by the tolerant inliner. Reproduced locally: `hyperframes render` on a project with an empty scene-title.html "succeeds" after ~93s (two 45s pollSubCompositionTimelines timeouts) with the scene silently missing from the output video. `hyperframes validate` also reports "No console errors" for the same broken project. - The raw `Cannot destructure property 'firstElementChild' of 'documentElement' as it is null` crash reproduces directly against linkedom (the DOMParser polyfill packages/cli/src/utils/dom.ts installs in the real CLI runtime) for empty and non-HTML input — confirmed with a standalone repro script, not just inferred. jsdom/happy-dom (used in this repo's own test environment) are spec-compliant and never produce a null documentElement, which is why this needed a linkedom-specific test file. Fix: - New shared helper `checkSubCompositionUsability` (packages/core/src/compiler/subCompositionValidity.ts) is the single source of truth for "is this data-composition-src file usable" — mirrors the inliner's own parse/template/body logic so all callers agree. - `inlineSubCompositions.ts` (preview/studio bundling) now uses the shared helper internally but keeps its #1678 tolerant skip-and-continue behavior unchanged — mid-authoring iteration on a partial project must keep working. `onMissingComposition` now also receives a human-readable reason. - New render-only pre-flight (`assertSubCompositionsUsable` in packages/producer/src/services/htmlCompiler.ts) walks every data-composition-src reference (including nested ones, root-relative, matching parseSubCompositions' own resolution) before any compilation work starts, and throws naming every offending file at once. This is unconditional — not gated behind --strict — because a render that silently drops a scene is strictly worse than one that refuses to start. Confirmed locally: render now fails in ~0.4s with an actionable message instead of "succeeding" after 93s with a missing scene. - New `hyperframes lint` rule `missing_or_empty_sub_composition` (packages/cli/src/utils/lintProject.ts) surfaces the same check as a file-scoped, actionable lint error (already unconditional — lint exits 1 on any error). - `hyperframes validate` now also runs this check before launching a browser, so it no longer reports "No console errors" for a project with a broken sub-composition. - `packages/core/src/parsers/htmlParser.ts`: guarded every `documentElement`-may-be-null access (parseHtml, updateElementInHtml, addElementToHtml, removeElementFromHtml, extractCompositionMetadata, validateCompositionHtml) with a new typed `CompositionHtmlParseError` (or, for validateCompositionHtml's collect-and-report contract, a typed validation failure) instead of a raw crash. Tests: empty file, whitespace-only, malformed/non-HTML, missing file, nested sub-compositions (both happy path and broken-grandchild), and the happy path — at the shared-helper, lint, and render pre-flight layers. Not changed: the AI-agent authoring skills (skills/*). general-video and hand-authored flows have no assemble-index.mjs equivalent to guard, so the fix is at the CLI/render layer instead — flow-agnostic, covers every authoring path, and the skills' existing "run lint/validate and stop on failure" guidance now actually catches this class of mistake once run. Not run in this environment: the producer package's full regression-harness test suite (`bun test` in packages/producer) — it performs heavy real rendering (S3 asset downloads, Google Fonts fetches, full video encodes) and did not complete in a reasonable time in this sandbox. Verified instead via the targeted test file for all touched code (76/76 passing), whole-repo typecheck/build/oxlint, `fallow audit` (complexity/duplication/dead-code gate, clean), and manual end-to-end CLI runs (render/lint/validate) against reproduction projects, including a nested sub-composition scenario. CI should run the full producer suite before merge. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * refactor(parsers, lint): port empty-composition pre-flight to extracted packages Rebased onto main, which extracted @hyperframes/lint from core (lint depends only on parsers, not core). Relocate checkSubCompositionUsability from core to @hyperframes/parsers so both core (inliner) and lint can consume it without a core<->lint cycle; core keeps a @deprecated re-export shim. Correctness fixes from code review: - checkSubCompositionUsability now returns "no-composition-root" when the <template>/<body> content has no [data-composition-id] element (previously a marker-free placeholder body passed both guards). - lint's missing/empty sub-composition rule now only checks files reachable via data-composition-src from the root (matching render pre-flight), instead of a raw filesystem walk that false-positived on orphaned files. - drop `as string` cast in inlineSubCompositions in favor of an explicit null guard (per CLAUDE.md). Review-comment items: - move EmptyCompositionError JSDoc above the class (was above the adapter fn). - correct stale circular-ref comment to match actual silent-skip behavior. - rewrite self-contradicting lint message ("silently drop") to describe the new loud render-pre-flight abort. - add the __PLACEHOLDER__ (/^__[A-Z_]+__$/) skip to the render pre-flight so it agrees with lint. refactor: extract @hyperframes/lint from core (#1756)
* refactor: extract @hyperframes/lint package from core Moves all lint rules, hyperframeLinter, lintProject, and related types from packages/core/src/lint/ into a new standalone packages/lint package. Core keeps a thin re-export stub at @hyperframes/core/lint for backward compatibility. Consumer imports (cli lint command, producer hyperframeLint) are updated to import from @hyperframes/lint directly. Depends on @hyperframes/parsers (PR #1755). * fix: restore postcss-selector-parser in core (sourceMutation.ts still uses it) * fix(ci): add parsers+lint to Dockerfile and build before preview tests * chore: update bun.lock after restoring postcss-selector-parser dep * test(cli): update lintProject test for string-dir signature from @hyperframes/lint * refactor(core): single-source the lint engine in @hyperframes/lint Delete core's byte-identical copy of the lint rule engine and re-point staticGuard at @hyperframes/lint, so the render-time render-gate and the studio preview share one rule engine instead of two copies that could silently diverge. Back-compat preserved via the @hyperframes/core/lint stub. Addresses review feedback on the dual-copy footgun. |

feat(cli): shared TTS/BGM auth preflight + caption and skill-workflow fixes (#1697)
* fix: handle caption skin workflow * docs(skills): simplify the finalize step across video workflows - Drop --strict-layout; all skills use plain `hyperframes inspect` - Add the caption text_box_overflow false-positive note to faceless-explainer - On a failed check, the orchestrator makes the cheapest safe edit itself (no worker re-dispatch / Step 3 backtrack language) - Snapshot: glance at the stitched contact-sheet.jpg and move on Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * feat(auth): onboarding-first `auth status` + shared TTS/BGM preflight When no HeyGen credential is configured, `hyperframes auth status` now prints registration-first guidance instead of a terse error: - Interactive / agent-driven sessions get sign-in guidance led by `hyperframes auth login` (the OAuth step that also creates an account and is shared with heygen-cli), and never steer users to a per-repo `.env`. CI / non-interactive runs get a terse note. Exit 1 is kept so the "am I logged in?" `$?` contract still holds. - It probes which local engine voice/music will fall back to (Kokoro / MusicGen, mirroring the skill resolution order) and whether their Python deps are installed, with a pip hint when missing. `--json` exposes `recommended_action` + `offline_engines` for skills to branch. - `doctor` gains matching "TTS (Kokoro)" / "BGM (MusicGen)" checks via the same shared probe (findPython/hasPythonModules extracted to tts/python.ts; provider resolution in audio/providers.ts). Every TTS/BGM workflow now relays this at Step 0 (setup) instead of improvising its own "missing key" prompt: pr-to-video, product-launch- video, faceless-explainer, website-to-video, music-to-video. The canonical behavior + key-priority table live once in hyperframes-media. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * feat(pr-to-video): scale recommended video length to PR change size Step 0 led with a fixed ~60-90s length default. Now the recommended length is derived from the PR's diff stat (lines added+deleted, nudged by file count) on a tier scale (trivial ~20-40s → large ~110-180s, hard cap ~3 min), reusing the same PR peek already done to infer the angle. The agent states the basis when proposing it, and a huge PR with one headline change still stays tight. User can always override. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(captions): embed brand fonts whose files use separators brandFontFaces() matched font files by stripping only whitespace, so an underscore/hyphen-named file (TT_Norms_Pro_Bold.woff2) never matched the family key "ttnormspro" — captions shipped with no @font-face, the font_family_without_font_face bug. Now both family and filename normalize away all non-alphanumerics; families match longest-key-first so a parent family can't swallow a more specific one's files (TT Norms Pro vs Mono); each file is claimed once; "demibold" ranks before "bold"; and when nothing matches it warns loudly at build time instead of returning "". Also: parseFonts() falls back to h1/h2/title/hero display roles, and the frame-worker + caption authoring docs spell out that only shipped font files render — no system CJK/Devanagari families on the headless renderer. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(hyperframes-media): enforce sign-in preflight on standalone BGM/TTS A one-off "generate me a BGM" request went straight to local MusicGen without recommending sign-in: bgm.md/tts.md framed the no-credential path as an automatic fallback, so the generation path bypassed the Preflight stop, and the preflight used a bare `hyperframes auth status` that isn't on PATH in a fresh `npx skills` project. - Preflight now applies to one-off generation as well as workflows, uses `npx hyperframes auth status`, and says: if the CLI can't run, still recommend signing in and STOP — never treat "no credential" as a silent green light for local generation. - bgm.md and tts.md point at the Preflight before generating, reframing local generation as the fallback the user opts into, not a default. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * docs(auth): add Authentication & API keys guide Document signing in, the keys each capability (voice, music, capture) uses, their resolution priority, and the fully local fallback. Add the guide to the nav and cross-link it from the cloud deploy note and the CLI env-var reference. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(lint): strip HTML comments in a fixpoint loop (CodeQL) Single-pass <!-- --> removal can re-form a complete comment from adjacent markers (e.g. `<<!-- -->!-- ... -->`), letting a decoy <template> survive and hijack the template-boundary match. Loop to a fixpoint, mirroring the captions.mjs precedent; add a regression test that fails on single-pass (2 root findings) and passes on the loop. Also wrap the build-frame.mjs node:fs imports to satisfy oxfmt — the new copyFileSync import pushed the line past the width limit, which was the sole cause of the Format / Preflight CI failures. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(lint): strip HTML comments with a linear scan (CodeQL ReDoS) The fixpoint loop still ran a /<!--[\s\S]*?-->/ regex per pass, which backtracks O(n^2) on inputs with many unterminated "<!--" — CodeQL js/polynomial-redos (high). Looping the same regex (the prescribed fix) never addressed this; only the regex itself does. Replace it with an indexOf-based linear strip in utils.ts (stripHtmlComments), kept in a fixpoint loop so markers that re-form when a comment is removed are still stripped. 200k unterminated "<!--" now strips in ~3ms instead of quadratic time; behavior is otherwise unchanged — unterminated comments are kept verbatim, as the old regex left them. The re-forming regression test still guards it. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(auth): make TTS/BGM sign-in guidance accurate and runnable From team review of the not-signed-in onboarding: - OAuth is a `hyperframes auth login` feature only. The separate `heygen` CLI is API-key-only — `heygen auth login` stores a pasted key, it is not OAuth and does not create an account. Stop presenting the two CLIs as the same OAuth/sign-up step. - Use `npx hyperframes` in every imperative and runtime hint. Bare `hyperframes` is not on PATH on a fresh machine (command not found); only `npx hyperframes` is guaranteed. Also updates the JSON recommended_action. - Drop `heygen auth login` from the terminal/skill onboarding: it needs its own install and there is no `npx heygen`, so it was a command-not-found trap. The shared-credential fact stays in the reference docs. Covers the `auth status` guidance + tests, the Authentication docs, the shared hyperframes-media preflight (SKILL, requirements, tts, error hints), and the `npx hyperframes auth status` preflight in every TTS/BGM workflow (pr-to-video, product-launch-video, faceless-explainer, website-to-video, music-to-video). fix(lint): catch CSS↔GSAP transform conflicts in scoped selectors and frame sub-compositions
gsap_css_transform_conflict existed but missed the most common real-world
shape (a label centered with CSS translateX(-50%) plus a GSAP xPercent that
stacks to -100% in the capture path), for three independent reasons:
- selector matching was exact-string, so a scoped/grouped GSAP selector
("#root .label, #root .sub") never matched a CSS class rule (.label)
- the acorn parser only captures timeline-rooted calls (tl.to/tl.set), so a
standalone gsap.set("#root .label", { xPercent: -50 }) was invisible to it
- lintProject read compositions/ non-recursively, so per-frame compositions
in compositions/frames/*.html were never linted at all
Fix: token-decompose grouped/descendant/compound selectors and match by
id/class against CSS transform rules; additionally scan standalone gsap.*
transform calls; and recurse into compositions/ subdirectories so frame
sub-compositions are linted.
Adds unit tests (grouped gsap.set repro, descendant tl.to, negative case) and
an end-to-end lintProject test that writes compositions/frames/04-*.html and
asserts the conflict is reported there.

feat(cli): capture-video on-demand fetcher + capture pipeline robustness
For the hyperframes.dev website-to-video flow. Real-AI-test runs against
heygen.com, huly.io, and heygen-showcase surfaced two gaps: (1) capture's
logo / asset-captioning signals missed modern React/Tailwind builds; and
(2) there was no CLI surface to pull the videos the manifest references.
New command:
• `hyperframes capture-video <project>` — on-demand downloader for
entries in capture/extracted/video-manifest.json. Capture writes the
manifest + preview PNGs but skips the mp4s; this pulls one entry by
`--index N` (matched against the entry's `index` field, NOT array
offset — gaps are possible when a preview screenshot fails). SSRF-safe
via safeFetch, 250 MB cap, content-type whitelist, race-free
exclusive-create write. Layout-aware (handles both standalone capture
and W2H project layouts).
Capture pipeline fixes:
• Structural logo signals (assetCataloger + tokenExtractor): inBanner /
inHomeLink / matchesTitleBrand. Class-substring alone caught 0/32 SVGs
on heygen.com — modern builds don't put 'logo' / 'brand' in any
className.
• Content-hash SVG slugs (assetDownloader): `svg-<8char-sha1>.svg` —
label-derived slugs mis-attributed partner-logo carousels
(heygen-logo.svg actually contained Google, hubspot-logo.svg contained
Trivago, etc.). Content-hash names are invariant by construction.
• SVG → PNG rasterization before Gemini Vision (contentExtractor): the
raw-SVG-as-text path was hallucinating wordmarks (VIVIENNE for HubSpot,
'wrestling' for Workday). Adds polarity detection so a white-glyph SVG
flattened to a blank PNG gets inverted before captioning. LOGO tag in
asset-descriptions.md when structural signals fire (independent of
Gemini key presence).
• Double-escape \/ inside the page.evaluate template literal in
assetCataloger + tokenExtractor: the original `/^https?:\/\/.../`
collapsed to `/` mid-template and threw `Unexpected token ^`. Capture
was 100% blocked on this until the escape was fixed.
• `asset-descriptions.md` header branches on Gemini-key presence with
an explicit 'Vision OFF — catalog-derived descriptions' warning.
New lint rule:
• `lintMissingLocalAsset` (cli/utils/lintProject): scans <video> / <img>
/ <source> src for local files that don't exist in the project.
Empirically the most common sub-agent mistake across multi-URL runs
(~5+ per run). Uses `resolveExistingLocalAsset` so the existence check
matches the bundler's notion of 'resolves'. Masks comment / style /
script ranges before scanning so a literal `<img src=missing.png>`
inside a tutorial comment isn't reported.
Tests: 17 new for capture-video (safeFilename decoding/sanitization,
VIDEO_CONTENT_TYPE_RE accept/reject, pickManifestEntry index-field lookup
with gaps, URL-mismatch + bad-index rejection, --index over --url
priority); 70 cases under lintProject.test.ts covering the new rule and
existing rules.
Sibling PRs in this stack:
• #PR_A1 — fix(producer): __dirname ESM banner shim
• #PR_A2 — fix(core/lint): findRootTag masks comment/style/script

feat(studio): GSAP tween editing in Design panel (#1102)
* feat(studio): GSAP tween editing in Design panel
Add a GSAP animation editor to the studio Design panel: select an element,
view and edit its tweens (properties, easing, timing), add/delete animations,
and drag custom bezier speed curves — all persisted back to the composition
HTML. Gated behind VITE_STUDIO_ENABLE_GSAP_PANEL.
Parsing of existing GSAP source now uses a recast + Babel AST parser instead of
regex, giving scope resolution, stable tween IDs, and round-trip preservation of
extras and unresolved raw values.
recast compiles to CommonJS that calls require("fs"), which breaks browser and
Vite SSR bundles. To contain it, @hyperframes/core is split into an isomorphic
layer and a Node-only AST layer:
- gsapSerialize.ts holds the recast-free helpers (serialization, keyframe
conversion, validation, shared types). htmlParser.ts is now fully isomorphic.
- parseGsapScript and the script-mutation helpers live in gsapParser.ts,
reachable only via the @hyperframes/core/gsap-parser subpath, loaded
server-side by the studio-api mutation routes and the linter via dynamic
import (recast stays external under SSR).
- The barrel and the gsap-constants subpath are recast-free, so studio browser
bundles never trace recast.
Adds AST parser unit + stress coverage and e2e helpers for the panel.
* fix(lint): await async lintHyperframeHtml in all callers
lintHyperframeHtml became async (gsap rules use dynamic import)
but lintProject and check-hyperframe-static weren't awaiting it,
causing typecheck failures and runtime crashes in CI.
Also wire LintRule type in gsap rules to fix fallow unused-type
finding, and suppress render.ts exported-for-tests symbols.

fix(cli): resolve sub-composition <audio> src relative to its own file (#489)
`lintAudioSrcNotFound` resolves every `<audio src>` against the project root, which is correct for index.html but wrong for sub-compositions — their srcs are written relative to the sub-composition file (e.g. `../assets/foo.mp3`), and the bundler rewrites them at compile time. Carry the sub-composition path alongside each html source and run `<audio src>` strings starting with `../` through the existing `rewriteAssetPath` helper before checking existence on disk. Mirrors the runtime/bundler behaviour so the lint check sees the same path the renderer will fetch. Original (un-rewritten) src is still surfaced in the finding message so authors can grep for it in their HTML. |

fix(player): parent-frame media playback for mobile (#266)
* fix(player): parent-frame media playback for mobile Mobile browsers block media.play() inside iframes when the user gesture happened in the parent frame — postMessage doesn't transfer user activation (per the User Activation v2 spec). ## Problem The player renders compositions in a sandboxed iframe. When a user taps play in the parent frame, the player sends a postMessage to the iframe's runtime, which calls audio.play(). On mobile, this fails silently because the iframe has no user activation context. ## Solution The player now extracts ALL timed media elements (audio/video with data-start) from the iframe's DOM (same-origin access), creates parent-frame copies, and disables the iframe originals. On play(), parentMedia.play() runs synchronously in the gesture call stack, satisfying mobile autoplay policy. ### Generic media handling - Finds all `audio[data-start], video[data-start]` in the iframe - Creates a parent-frame copy for each (Audio or Video element) - Preserves data-start offsets for correct seek positioning - Strips data-start from iframe elements so the runtime ignores them - Falls back to iframe media for cross-origin iframes ### `audio-src` attribute Convenience for the common single-narration case. When set, the player starts preloading audio immediately — before the iframe loads. This eliminates the loading delay that caused jittery playback. ### No active sync Both parent media and the GSAP timeline are real-time systems. When started simultaneously, they naturally stay within ~10ms — no drift correction needed. Active sync with coarse granularity (50ms polling) caused MORE jitter than it prevented via repeated audio seeks. ## CI - Added unified `test` job replacing separate per-package test jobs - Added root `test` script: `bun run --filter '*' test` - New packages with test scripts are automatically included - Added happy-dom for player DOM tests ## Tests - 10 new tests for parent-frame media: preloading, play, pause, seek, muted/rate sync, cleanup, attribute changes - All 21 player tests pass Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.6 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(shader-transitions): pass CI when no test files exist Add --passWithNoTests to vitest run so the unified test job doesn't fail on packages that have a test script but no test files yet. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.6 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(cli): update tests for new id field and GSAP lint rule - normalize.test.ts: loadTranscript now assigns id fields (w0, w1, etc.) to SRT/VTT results and empty string for words-json passthrough - lintProject.test.ts: add GSAP CDN script to validHtml() fixture to satisfy the missing_gsap_script lint rule added in core Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.6 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(cli): add missing data-start/data-duration to validHtml fixture The validHtml() test fixture was missing data-start and data-duration attributes, triggering the root_composition_missing_data_start and root_composition_missing_data_duration lint warnings. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.6 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(ci): fetch LFS objects for producer test job Producer regression tests compare rendered output against reference MP4 files stored in git LFS. Without lfs: true, checkout fetches pointer files instead of actual videos, causing "moov atom not found" errors. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.6 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * ci: remove redundant test-producer job The regression workflow already runs the same 28 producer fixtures in a Docker container with prod-matching Chrome/fonts/ffmpeg, sharded across 8 parallel matrix jobs with 40-min timeouts. The CI test-producer job was a duplicate that ran on bare runners with worse determinism and a 15-min timeout too short for all fixtures. fix(lint): detect GSAP animations targeting clip elements (tab crash) (#114)
* fix(lint): detect GSAP animations targeting clip elements (tab crash) The runtime manages clip visibility via inline styles. When GSAP also writes inline styles on the same element, both systems trigger style recalculations every frame, creating a runaway loop that crashes the browser tab. New rule gsap_animates_clip_element (error severity): - Builds map of all elements with class="clip" (by id and class) - Checks if any GSAP selector resolves to a clip element - Nested selectors like "#overlay .title" are correctly ignored - Merged into existing GSAP script loop (no redundant parsing) * fix: remove non-null assertions and add missing test coverage - Replace `!` assertions with optional chaining in lint.ts and tests - Add shouldBlockRender tests for --strict-all without --strict - Add clip element test for class-only detection (no id) Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.6 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix: use optional chaining for array access in lintProject tests TypeScript's strict mode flags array indexing as possibly undefined. Use optional chaining and fallbacks instead of non-null assertions. fix: add media rendering guardrails to prevent silent failures (#112)
## Summary - **Lint rules** catch media elements missing `id` (renderer silently skips them), missing `src`, `preload="none"` (blocks renderer), and video nested in timed divs (freezes playback). Upgraded `video_nested_in_timed_element` from warning to error. - **Compiler** strips `preload="none"` from media during compilation. Runs parallel, cached keyframe interval analysis via ffprobe — warns on sparse keyframes (>2s) that cause seek failures and audio/video desync. Suggested ffmpeg command preserves audio (`-c:a copy`). - **Pre-render lint** lints `index.html` + all `compositions/*.html` sub-compositions before render via shared `lintProject()` helper. Warns by default; `--strict` blocks on errors, `--strict-all` blocks on errors + warnings. - **Render orchestrator** logs a hint to retry with `--workers 1` when parallel capture times out on video-heavy compositions. - **Refactor**: extracted `runFfprobe()` + `parseProbeJson()` helpers to deduplicate ~80 lines of spawn boilerplate across 3 ffprobe functions. Extracted `shouldBlockRender()` so strict flag tests exercise production code. Shared `lintProject()` used by both `lint` and `render` commands. ## Context Discovered during a real composition build session where: 1. `<audio>` without `id` rendered silently (preview worked fine because runtime queries `[data-start]`, but renderer queries `[id][src]`) 2. `<video>` inside timed `<div>` froze on first frame 3. `preload="none"` caused 45s renderer timeout 4. YouTube clips with sparse keyframes from `yt-dlp --download-sections` caused audio/video desync 5. Parallel workers timed out on video-heavy compositions ## Test plan - [x] Core: 365/365 tests passing (5 new lint tests) - [x] Engine: 24/24 tests passing - [x] CLI: 14/14 tests passing (7 lintProject + 7 shouldBlockRender) - [x] Lint + format hooks pass - [ ] Manual: create a composition with `<audio data-start="0" src="test.wav">` (no id) — verify `npx hyperframes lint` catches it - [ ] Manual: run `npx hyperframes render --strict` with lint errors — verify it blocks - [ ] Manual: run `npx hyperframes render --strict-all` with lint warnings — verify it blocks |
