feat: automatic tier, 240°/32 defaults, check finding, and Studio stops opting out (#6108)
* feat: check names the filter fallback, the render log names the tier, Studio stops opting out hyperframes check reports motion_blur_filter_fallback (info) with the reason capture could not run and the way back to it. The engine's per-session log line gains tier=, and its pixel test covers the fallback over a WebGL page. Studio no longer sends previewMotionBlur: every Chrome can preview blur now, through the fallback where it lacks html-in-canvas; the server still accepts false from an older Studio. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * feat(core): blur picks the cheaper filter tier when every mover only translates The scan now notes whether any mover turns or scales (the linear part of its transform chain changes) and whether it already forms a stacking context while it moves. When every mover only translates, the filter tier draws as well as capture and costs about what no blur costs: on an 8 s bench shot a render took 7.0 s against 9.9 s with capture and 7.3 s with no blur. Anything that turns or scales, or moves without a transform, stays on capture. data-motion-blur-tier="capture" or "filter" forces a tier. The report says which one drew and why (translation-only, tier-attribute); hyperframes check stays quiet for those two, which are choices, not fallbacks. The pixel tests run the shared assertions through both tiers. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * docs(motion-blur): the two tiers, the tier attribute, and what changed in limits The guide described blur turning off for WebGL, a root transform and similar. It now says the filter tier draws instead, how the tier is chosen and forced, what each does with a turn or a zoom, the measured cost of each, and which findings check emits. The skill note drops the off-for-WebGL advice and the 1.7x figure. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * feat(core): blur defaults match a 240 degree shutter and at least 32 samples The shutter opens 240 degrees by default (was 180) and each mover gets at least 32 taps (was sized to the smear alone, down to 2), growing with the smear as before. These are the settings the shutter blur Jake built uses; on the card whip the default render is now 51 dB from his (34.6 dB at the old defaults). The guide's attribute table says so. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * chore(core): trim tier.ts comments to the ratchet Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * chore: allow deleting the Studio previewMotionBlur render test Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> --------- Co-authored-by: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

feat(core): capture blur falls back to per-element filters where capture cannot run (#6107)
* feat(core): capture blur falls back to per-element filters where capture cannot run html-in-canvas cannot capture a WebGL canvas, an iframe or a transform on the root, and some browsers lack it. Blur used to turn off for the whole composition. Now the runtime hands the composition to a filter tier: an SVG filter on each mover, 32 offset copies averaged along its sampled path, softened along the motion so long smears do not step. It filters the live DOM, so it works over a WebGL canvas, in any Chrome, and leaves glows and shadows on the element. Turn and scale only soften; capture draws those truthfully, so it stays the first choice and a scene re-init tries it again. Capture turning itself off for a defect or three failed captures hands over; the renderer's explicit off (HDR, distributed, engine blur) stays off. The report names the tier. Core's unpacked size budget goes to 3,965,000 for the tier. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * test(engine): the backface pages now take the filter tier The two backface tests still expected blur off; with the filter tier a backface page reports tier filter. Fails on CI without this. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> --------- Co-authored-by: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

fix(cli): long projects check to completion: boxed resumable copies, --prepare-media, idle deadline (#6104)
* fix(cli): check copies hostile videos at the composition size, not the source size * fix(cli): the check server serves the copy the page names with hf-proxy-box * feat(cli): check --prepare-media makes the video copies alone, and a stopped copy resumes A long source is copied in one-minute pieces that stay in the cache, so a copy that is killed or runs out of time continues from its finished pieces. check --prepare-media runs only that step: no browser, no report, a per-file result as JSON, and exit 1 when a copy failed. * fix(studio-server): keep finished copy pieces while their copy runs The short limit for dead partial copies would delete the first pieces of a long copy that is still encoding. Finished pieces now follow their own one-hour limit and are never swept while their copy is in flight. * refactor(studio-server): shorten two comments The comment gate limits a comment line to 120 characters and a run to four lines. * refactor(studio-server): drop comments the names already carry The comment ratchet lets a file's comment share only go down. * fix(cli): the check server pre-warms the copy the page asks for, not the source-size one The server started a source-size copy of every hostile video next to Chrome on each check, because its pre-warm passed no box while the page and the up-front copy use the composition's box. The pre-warm now takes the same box, found by the one helper the up-front copy uses. * fix(cli): end a check on no progress, not on a 120 s wall clock The check ended 120 s after Chrome was ready no matter what it was doing, so a long project whose sampling and overlap pass each kept working still failed (the overlap pass was one page call that reported nothing for its whole run). The deadline is now an idle clock: every phase entered, every sample finished, every overlap batch of eight times and every operation that settles restarts it, and the check ends only after 120 s with none. The overlap grid is asked for in batches so it can report between them. * refactor(cli): shorten the idle deadline comment The comment gate allows 120 characters on a comment line. * test(cli): check's overlap grid runs in page tasks of at most 8 samples * fix(cli): check test types for the cli lib, studio-server size budget for resumable copies |

fix(ci): a package fails its size budget only when more than 1% over it (#6131)
The budgets are the exact packed sizes people last measured, so a few hundred bytes of ordinary code failed Build. The exact budget stays the number to bump and the 15% ratchet stays; only the over-budget comparison gets 1% of tolerance. |

fix(engine): encode with the same x264 and x265 thread count on any host size (#6127)
* fix(engine): encode with the same x264 and x265 thread count on any host size libx264 and libx265 pick their thread count from the host core count when ffmpeg is not told one, and the bitstream depends on it, so the same frames encoded to different bytes on 8, 16 and 32 vCPU nodes and chunks of one render could differ. Both encoders now pass the thread count from the CPU quota (Node reads the container limit), which is fixed per pod. * chore(engine): raise the packed size budget for the encoder thread module |

fix(aws-lambda): keep the arm64 image staging script out of the published package (#6118)
* fix(aws-lambda): keep the arm64 image staging script out of the published package stage-arm64-image.ts is run from a checkout by the image workflow and the publish job, and nothing in dist or the CLI imports it. With the release's prebuilt/ files added, aws-lambda measured 73484 bytes packed and 267013 unpacked in the publish job, over its budgets of 73369 and 266805, so v0.8.187 did not publish. * ci: the packed-manifest check pins stand-in Lambda assets, like the publish job The publish job adds prebuilt/handler-zip.json and prebuilt/video-image.json before verify:packed-manifests; the PR check did not, so a package could pass on the PR and fail at publish. The verifier now runs the same pin script on sparse stand-ins of release size when no pins exist, and removes them afterwards. It lives in the verifier, not a Build step, so the edit-accuracy input closure stays unchanged. |

fix(core): capture blur strobing, backdrop box, glow drop-out and callback motion (#6106)
* fix(core): capture blur sizes its taps to the smear and weights them exactly A fast move strobed at the default 16 taps (8 px steps on a 1560 px whip). With no data-motion-blur-samples set, taps are now about one per 2 px of travel (2 to 128); an explicit samples count still wins. Canvas quantizes image globalAlpha to 1/255, so 1/n weights left coverage short (n = 104 summed to 0.81, a lighter card body). Each tap now carries a whole number of 1/255 units that sum to exactly 255. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * feat(core): capture blur draws the movers from their own transparent layer The crop came from a capture of the whole scene, so the backdrop under a see-through mover smeared with it (a lighter box with the dotted background erased) and a glow or shadow outside the mover's box was cut off, leaving a hard-edged box. Each frame now captures the movers alone, everything else visibility:hidden, so a mover's pixels carry their true alpha and no backdrop; the background capture is unchanged. The crop grows by the mover's ink reach (box-shadow, text-shadow, filter, outline, measured during the scan), so glows travel with it. Two paints per frame, as before. The output is cleared on wrap instead of showing the previous wrap's last frame, since the first paint is no longer a drawable sharp frame. Core's unpacked size budget goes to 3,950,000 for the new module. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(core): capture blur finds callback-driven movers when events are on The mover scan seeked with callbacks suppressed even where the root allows them, so a composition whose motion lives in a timeline callback (a render(t) driven from onUpdate) reported 0 movers and rendered sharp. With data-motion-blur-events="on" the scan now seeks the way the frame reads do. Without it nothing changes: callbacks stay suppressed. The no-movers finding in hyperframes check now names the attribute. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> --------- Co-authored-by: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

feat(aws-lambda): push a prebuilt image to ECR without Docker (#6063)
* feat(aws-lambda): push a prebuilt image to ECR without Docker Adds pushImageToEcr and ensureEcrRepository to the SDK subpath. The push reads a single-platform OCI image layout, verifies every blob against its descriptor before any ECR call, uploads only the blobs ECR lacks through the layer-upload API, and puts the manifest under a tag, returning the digest-pinned image URI. * fix(aws-lambda): keep the ECR client out of the SDK bundle Like the other AWS SDK clients, @aws-sdk/client-ecr is a dependency the consumer resolves. Bundled into the ESM SDK it hits a dynamic require of node:https and the packed package fails to import. * feat(aws-lambda): build the ECR client from a region like the other SDK calls * build(aws-lambda): add only the ECR client to the lockfile * fix(aws-lambda): adopt an existing ECR repository only when it carries the caller's tags * chore(aws-lambda): raise the size budget for pushing an image to ECR pushImageToEcr ships in dist (unminified chunk plus its .d.ts); no source maps, tests or release-only files are involved. Built dist, npm pack --dry-run, main versus main plus this branch: +2486 B packed, +8846 B unpacked. The merge-group run measured 73369 packed and 266805 unpacked, which are the new budgets (were 70874 and 258166). |

feat(aws-lambda): arm64 video function image from the handler ZIP (#6064)
* feat(aws-lambda): arm64 video function image from the handler ZIP The image is the release handler ZIP with its x86 ffmpeg and Chrome swapped for the native ffmpeg tree and the sha256-pinned Sparticuz arm64 Chrome pack, so the x86 and arm64 functions run the same handler code. The image stage only copies, so any host builds it. CI builds it and runs ffmpeg, a real Chrome render and the Lambda runtime on an ARM runner. * fix(aws-lambda): launch Chrome in the image smoke the way Lambda does @sparticuz/chromium inflates its AL2023 libraries only when AWS_EXECUTION_ENV names a Node runtime; Lambda sets it, a bare docker run does not. The workflow also runs on @sparticuz/chromium bumps and handler ZIP layout changes, which re-stage the image. * fix(aws-lambda): smoke the arm64 image through its own Lambda runtime The smoke is now a handler invoked through the image's entrypoint, whose bootstrap sets AWS_EXECUTION_ENV the way Lambda does, so @sparticuz/chromium takes its Lambda branch with nothing set by hand. It returns the value it saw. * fix(aws-lambda): agree the move of the ffmpeg build workflow into the image workflow * fix(aws-lambda): build the Chrome pack URL from the pin and hand the checked pack to tar in memory |

docs(cli): document every command, and check it in CI (#5938)
* docs(cli): document media-use and usage commands Both command groups are registered and visible but had no section in the CLI reference. - media-use: subcommands, resolve flags, the per-type source order, where files land, which sources need a HeyGen sign-in or can cost money, and telemetry. - usage: flags, the known and unknown result shapes, which logins it reads, and that it sends no telemetry. - Add both to the "Find your command" table. The from, reuse, and params subcommands cannot take their value in this release, so the page points to the working resolve --from, --reuse, and --params forms instead. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * docs(cli): drop the media-use bug workaround note The bugs go to the media-use owner instead of living in the docs. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * docs(cli): list every command in the finder, and check it in CI A ~20-line check fails the docs workflow when a CLI command is missing from "Find your command". On main it finds media-use, usage, models, clean and events. AGENTS.md and CLAUDE.md ask agents to ship docs with the change. fix(core): a clip's volume lane stays smooth in preview while the page is busy (#6057)
* fix(core): a clip's volume lane stays smooth in preview while the page is busy A clip with a volume automation lane had two writers on one gain in preview: the Web Audio transport scheduled the lane as ramps on the clip's gain, and the per-tick media sync wrote the same lane's value onto that gain about 60 times a second. Each write landed whenever the main thread got to it, so a busy page stepped the gain and the clip sounded choppy. The lane now has its own gain node, like a group's fader beside its mute gain, and the per-tick volume of a routed clip no longer folds the lane in. * fix(core): name the transport's ownership of a routed clip's lane instead of commenting it * chore(core): raise the unpacked size budget for the volume lane's own gain The preview fix gives a clip's volume lane its own gain node and tears it down with the clip, which takes core to 3935950 bytes unpacked, 283 over the budget main set at its exact size. * fix(core): volume lanes follow rate changes and edits mid-play * fix(core): shorten the clip stages comment * fix(core): point the volume lane comments at the code they name |

fix(ci): packed consumer installs keep same-day dependency bumps on every Bun release (#6059)
* fix(ci): packed consumer installs keep same-day dependency bumps on every Bun release Bun 1.4.4 swapped the quoted package and range in its minimum-release-age error, so the retry excluded the range instead of the package and the install failed again. The package is now the token that bun's "<name>@<range> failed to resolve" line pairs with the other one, and an unrecognised message fails visibly instead of excluding the wrong name. CI installs the newest Bun when nothing pins it, which let the 1.4.4 release turn every PR's support tests red mid-day. engines.bun in the root package.json pins it for every setup-bun step that does not set a version (packageManager would make corepack's pnpm refuse the repo). * fix(ci): keep the release-age parser's doc comment to one line |

fix(cli): keep whisper CJK tokens as separate timed words (#6058)
* fix(cli): keep whisper CJK tokens as separate timed words whisper.cpp marks word boundaries with a leading space, but Chinese and Japanese tokens never carry one, so parseWhisperCpp merged every CJK token into the previous word, across segments too. A 9.5-minute Mandarin episode came out as two "words" of about 280 s each, leaving captions and sentence-building nothing to split. A token now starts its own word when it crosses a CJK boundary, full-width punctuation still attaches to the word before it, and cues end at 。!?. * fix(ci): capture package name in release-age exclusion |

ci(skills): hide retired skills on ClawHub once the sync has run (#5656)
* ci(skills): hide retired skills on ClawHub once the sync has run clawhub sync stops publishing a retired skill but leaves its last version listed. feat(producer, studio): wire capture motion blur into renders and Studio (#5969)
Carry the runtime's blur through the render pipeline and the Studio render panel. - engine: installPageMotionBlur sets the page-side off switch and the render's device scale before any author script runs; CaptureOptions.pageMotionBlur lets a caller stand the page blur down. - producer: a composition that asks for data-motion-blur on the root the runtime would pick forces screenshot capture, because html-in-canvas needs a real paint; the probe session carries the request's pageMotionBlur like every other session. - studio-server and Studio: the render panel sends previewMotionBlur, the render route turns "off" into pageMotionBlur once, and the Studio dev server and the CLI server both receive the final value. - mover scan: a large element that is see-through while it moves (a sweep, a light leak) is no mover, including a large image or canvas with alpha; the scan skips elements moved by a 3D individual transform property. - cli snapshot injects video frames before the seek settles, matching the engine's order. Folded review fixes: R1, R2, R3 (scan half), R7, R16, R18, T3 (render adapters). Co-authored-by: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

feat(skills)!: publish seven knowledge skills aligned with Studio and retire the workflow skills (#5651)
* refactor(skills): fold six domain skills into hyperframes and media-use guides
hyperframes-core, -animation, -keyframes, -creative and -studio move to
skills/hyperframes/{core,animation,keyframes,creative,studio}/, and
hyperframes-audio moves to skills/media-use/mix/. Each moved SKILL.md becomes
a frontmatter-free GUIDE.md so installers that scan recursively for SKILL.md
no longer see them as skills; the published list goes from 21 to 15.
Relative links, code paths and skill-name mentions are rewritten to the new
locations, the catalog surfaces, marketplace core-skills list, fallback core
set, module-copy targets and skills-manifest.json follow, and
`hyperframes skills update` now removes the retired skills (RETIRED_SKILLS)
when they are still installed.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* feat(skills): slim the core entries and give media-use a HeyGen and a free path
The four entries every run opens are rewritten to what an agent cannot infer:
hyperframes 21.8 KB to 7.7 KB, hyperframes-cli 24.8 KB to 6.9 KB,
hyperframes-registry 9.9 KB to 4.3 KB, media-use 9.7 KB to 4.9 KB. Detail moved
whole into references (routing close calls and creator edits, CLI pin upgrades,
catalog search tiers, CLI conventions and feedback reports).
- hyperframes: state table, routing, the render contract, a terminal work loop
(check, snapshot, preview before render), the desktop-app hand-off, and a
table of the folded guides.
- media-use: one table of HeyGen versus free local tools per need; HeyGen
sign-in, credits and the CLI's video-agent, avatar, clone, lipsync, translate
and clipping commands; every free path works with no account.
- scripts/check-core-skills.mjs holds entries and descriptions to budget and
checks every taught `npx hyperframes` command and path; runs in lint.
- Core entries are exempt from the formatter: its table padding cost ~1.5 KB
per entry on every run.
- Content tests follow the text to its new home.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix(skills): plugin runs skip skills update; media-use explains HeyGen sign-in and TTS setup
The smoke eval showed a presenter request never reaching media-use and the
free voiceover failing on a missing kokoro-onnx; plugin runs also ran the
skills update the plugin rules forbid.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* chore(skills): drop a committed Python bytecode file and ignore bytecode
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* feat(skills): align the entry with the Studio skills and keep the workflows' measured facts
The entry drops routing and the intent interview and carries the contract, the
editable-project rules and the work loop. Studio's format, runtimes, motion,
look and captions references come over for terminal use, frame presets move to
assets/, media-use gains Studio's mixing and local-command references, and
film.md and overlays.md keep what the workflow skills measured.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* feat(skills)!: retire the workflow skills and folded guides; publish seven knowledge skills
The skill pack now publishes exactly seven skills - hyperframes,
hyperframes-cli, hyperframes-registry, media-use, figma, slideshow and
remotion-to-hyperframes - carrying knowledge, not process. The eight
workflow skills, the folded domain guides and the routing/interview
references are deleted; their measured facts already live in the
hyperframes references (format, runtimes, motion, look, captions, film,
overlays) and media-use's mixing reference.
- bake-basemap.mjs and locate.mjs move to skills/hyperframes/scripts/
(bake-basemap gains --help); extract-audio-data.py moves to
media-use/audio/scripts/ for the caption motion reference.
- skills update: the eight workflows join RETIRED_SKILLS so existing
installs prune them (by lock attribution only, since their names are
generic); naming a retired skill reports where its knowledge went and
succeeds instead of failing as unknown.
- Capture prompts point at the hyperframes skill's references/film.md;
the live-map warning names the new bake-basemap path.
- Content tests that pinned knowledge are retargeted to the kept
references; tests of deleted workflows, scripts and process go.
- Catalog surfaces, templates and docs describe the seven skills.

* fix(skills): resolve the local.md captions link and allow capture's output files in citations
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix(skills): regenerate the skills manifest from tracked files only
The committed media-use hash included an ignored __pycache__ bytecode file present
in the local checkout, so CI's clean checkout hashed differently.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix(docs): restore generated catalog pages and docs navigation to main
Catalog PRs commit item sources only; CI regenerates the pages from the edited
registry sources. docs/docs.json is catalog navigation, so its Workflows group
rename is left for a non-catalog PR.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* build(cli): raise the CLI size budget for the skill references it bundles
The CLI bundles skills/hyperframes, which now carries the folded domain guides and
frame presets (155 KB to 1.08 MB in git). Budgets are the CI-measured size plus 5%:
packed 7526634, unpacked 22593213.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* test: keep repo-sweep guards meaningful after the workflow skills left
The last shell ffprobe caller and most root index.html examples lived in retired
skills. The shell detector is now pinned on a literal command line, and the
structure-rule sweep needs more than 5 roots (11 remain) rather than 30.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* feat(skills): slim figma, slideshow and remotion to the Studio shape; restore the storyboard board
slideshow 33.5 KB to 4.9, figma 18.2 to 6.2, remotion-to-hyperframes 11.0 to
4.9, each keeping the facts only it holds (the figma motion helpers, verify gate,
storyboard decoding and usage beacons; present and hand-off; the Remotion lint,
SSIM check and API map). The board page format from the storyboard recipe comes
back as hyperframes/references/storyboard.md: the desktop app's Storyboard tab
reads boards/storyboard.html by its frame, title and time classes. The entry and
the init template now say to snapshot the moments an edit changed before
replying, which the terminal eval found skipped in 22 of 38 runs.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix(skills): manifest without local bytecode; Studio's edit prompt names kept files
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix(skills): render when the person asks for the file or for no stops, not only after approval
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix(skills): keep the voiceover carve in media-use; presets stage their own fonts
Review follow-ups on #5651:
- carve.mjs and its tests move to skills/media-use/audio/scripts; the audio
docs, mixing.md and two Studio comments point there.
- code-editorial's FRAME.md says to copy its bundled WOFF2s and add the
@font-face blocks, instead of promising the retired build-frame.mjs.
- media-use states the host rule before the HeyGen sign-in steps.
- storyboard-format marks transition_in as a note the agent builds itself.
- Two stale citations (creator-editing-recipes.md, sub-compositions.md).

* feat(skills): films that tell a story start from three storylines; maps use real imagery
Opus 5.5 arm D read motion.md and applied it, but its launch film was a
feature list (pain, three feature cards, proof, logo): film.md left story
to the model. And the map case never opened film.md, so it drew Natural
Earth outlines instead of baking satellite tiles.
- references/story.md: the generic half of Studio's moment-film story and
craft (one thing, three storylines with world and device, the hook,
beats, worlds, copy, brand, tells of a generated film). The person picks
a storyline, or the agent takes its recommendation when asked for the
file or for no stops.
- The entry's work loop names the storyline step for films over ~15 s; the
references table routes stories to story.md and maps to film.md.
- film.md points at story.md and gives maps and real places a section.

* fix(skills): story.md follows the entry: no voiceover unless asked

* fix(skills): bake-basemap starts from a globe and stops waiting out its idle timeout
The Opus 5.5 map run spent 13 of its 38 minutes on parallel bakes that
stalled and 15 more recording 300 frames, after rewriting the script because
it could only start on a flat map.
- PROJECTION=globe with a seeded starfield and atmosphere, and FROM/PAN to
turn the globe to CENTER before the dive.
- Each frame polls for loaded tiles instead of waiting for an "idle" event
that had often already fired: 30 frames went from 198-219 s to 10-13 s
locally with byte-identical frames.
- Progress prints seconds a frame and minutes left; film.md shows the globe
call and says to run one bake at a time.

* fix(skills): render in the foreground; wait on a detached render's log, never pgrep -f
Both Opus 5.5 explainer runs started a detached render, then waited with
`until ! pgrep -f "hyperframes render"`, which matches its own loop: each
render took 88-117 s and the wait sat for the tool's full 10 minutes.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* feat(skills): route each kind of film; storylines carry look and sound; add review and sound
The entry routes by request (launch, explainer, music, data, vertical, 3D,
character) to a self-contained file under references/types/, and a film
over ~15 s now gets music and sounds on its visible actions unless the
person asked for silence. Each storyline names its look and its sound, so
picking one picks both; STORYBOARD.md frames carry `reads` and `sound`.
review.md is the whole-film pass: the check warnings, the review sheets,
seven questions to look for, P0/P1/P2 notes and REVIEW.md. motion.md gains
eases by role, six title entrances, a reading-time rule and nine measured
transitions; look.md a design plan before the first scene, with presets
kept for decks and named picks. story.md adds the second default that
generated design falls into, with what to do instead.
The blank template and format.md no longer teach the fade-and-slide-up
entrance on a dark canvas.

* feat(cli): check warns on unread lines, dead stretches, small type, empty frame 0 and silence
A coding agent cannot watch its film, so check now measures what a viewer
notices over time. A new `craft` section holds warnings only (exit 0
unless --strict), sampled on the dense 8 fps grid the overlap pass
already seeks, skipped for --range checks:
- line_unread: a reading-size line (>= 30 px tall at 1080) on screen
under 0.4 s for 1-2 words, else under 3/4 of 0.5 s + 0.3 s a word;
the film's last line needs 2 s. Short lines are re-measured between
samples to ~0.01 s before judging. Captions-track and
data-layout-ignore text are exempt.
- dead_stretch: more than 3 s where the keepsMoving liveness signature
does not change, outside the final 3 s and any data-hold element;
quiet when sweep_static fires or a whole-composition keepsMoving
assertion owns the limit.
- text_below_floor: text under 2.6% of the short side (28 px on 1080)
held 0.5 s, one finding per file listing every element.
- first_frame_empty: frame 0 paints only the background.
- film_silent: over 15 s with no unmuted audio or audible video.
Each message names the fix and the skill reference to read. keepsMoving
now also leaves the film's last 3 s (a still end card) out of its
static runs, so the two agree.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* feat(cli): snapshot --review captures a beat sheet, seam strips and a phone sheet
snapshot --review picks the frames that show a film over time instead of
evenly spaced ones, in the same single browser session:
- review-beats.jpg: one settled frame per scene at its start + 0.3 s,
plus one per timed data-beat="name" element, labelled time and id.
Scenes are the composition's top-level timed clips and sub-composition
hosts, read like `timeline` reads rows (captions and audio excluded)
and timed by the runtime's start resolver over the live page.
- review-seam-NN.jpg: frames at -0.2, -0.1, 0, +0.1, +0.2 s around
every cut (each scene start, and any scene end no scene starts at).
- review-phone.jpg: the beat frames at 360 px wide.
--composition scopes the review to one sub-composition; with fewer than
two scenes the beats spread evenly and a note says so. snapshot also
gains --json: one envelope with every frame's path and time and, under
--review, the scenes, beats and seams behind the sheets; progress moves
to stderr.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix(cli): craft warnings stay out of --strict; a hold gets a real next action, not a caret
Craft findings (unread lines, dead stretches, small type, an empty first
frame, silence) are judgment calls a film may break on purpose, so
--strict keeps gating defects only. The check reference no longer
suggests a blinking caret to keep a still frame moving.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix(cli): review spreads beats when every scene starts together; map credits skip the type floor
A map film whose basemap and overlay both start at 0 s got one beat
frame; the even spread now keys on distinct scene starts. film.md tells
agents to mark the imagery credit data-layout-ignore and back it, since
the new type floor flagged it on the first real run.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix(cli): review frames each scene at its middle too, not only 0.3 s in
On the first real explainer, 0.3 s into a scene showed a bare colour
field before its title entered. Each scene longer than about a second
and a half now adds a frame at its middle, so the sheet shows what the
scene builds.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* feat(skills): a film is built from a numeric SPEC.md, with defaults banned by name and a look test
Studied in full: flxrnc's Motion Lab (vague vs directed prompt), 0xMovez's
course, EianLu's riso skill, agentchengfeng's style samples and the two
Opus 5.5 guides. Their common point: adjectives are where the default look
lives, so the agent now writes SPEC.md before any scene (GOAL, OUTPUT,
TIME, LOOK, MOTION, SHOTS, BANNED, QA), with a number for every adjective.
spec.md bans the defaults by name, unless the brand or reference uses
them (a dark void with small things floating, glow and particles, the
cream-serif-mono-label look, fade-and-slide-up, corner brackets), and
grows that list after the first render. Each storyline gets a 3 s test of
its hero shot before the pick; a look is written as the rules of one
medium. Composition numbers: the hero fills 40% of the frame, one hero
move per shot, the shot's information in within 2.5 s then a held poster.
motion.md adds springs by damping ratio, shorter exits, overlap, stagger
and the beat grid; review.md reviews as a harsh director and grows BANNED;
vertical.md takes the riso skill's measured safe band; explainer.md the
shapes of information.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix(skills): story before look; every object reads as itself; posters only for info cards
The first spec-driven C02 swapped the dark default for a flat Swiss
poster, and the story went with it: two black bars nobody read as mirrors,
slogans instead of cause and effect, a storyline picked for its picture.
The spec now serves the story: a storyline is picked for the story a
stranger would follow, the look test asks first whether a stranger
understands what they see, and SPEC.md gains an OBJECTS line giving each
thing the material and details that make it read without a label. The
2.5 s held-poster rule is limited to information cards; in a story film
every shot causes the next. Explainers start from a person or situation
the viewer knows. Review names every object as a stranger would and
treats one that needs explaining as a P0.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix(skills): storylines are three films in words, each with a device and a form
The three storylines are pitched as text and the person picks from them;
nothing is built for a storyline before the pick, so the 3 s hero-shot
look test is gone. Ideas pair a device with a form, five or more first,
keeping the three that differ most, and the one stop states the rest in
an assumption line that names every paid item beside its free option.

* ci: list main's new embedded-captions hf-cli test among the retired workflow files
The merge with main removed it with the rest of the retired skill, and the
deletion guard rejects any removal it has not been told about.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix(core): keep the audio preset comment within core's size budget
The comment's new citation to media-use's mixing reference made the published
package 14 bytes larger than its budget, which sits at main's exact size.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix(cli): craft keeps its own 8 fps grid; comments back within the checks
Review on #5651 found that the merge moved craft onto the overlap pass's
times, which main caps at 180, so a brief line in a long film fell between
samples and line_unread missed it. Craft now builds its own grid at 8 fps up to
600 samples, as before the merge, and a 60 s film with a line shown for 0.2 s
pins it.
The Comments check passes again: REVIEW.md and STORYLINES.md join the files a
skill writes into a project, the comment lines this branch added come back
under each file's share at the merge-base, and the audio preset comment drops
a word the check reads as history.

perf(producer): multi-worker mp4 renders start encoding while frames are still being captured (#5952)
* perf(producer): multi-worker mp4 renders start encoding while frames are still being captured On the multi-worker disk capture path the encoder used to start only after every worker had finished. It now starts with capture and is fed frame 0, 1, 2... in order as each frame file lands, with the same encoder arguments, so the output is byte-identical and the encode left after capture is shorter. Off for drawElement capture (a failed self-check discards every frame) and for png/gif/webm/mov/HDR/GPU/chunked/HLS output. If the overlapped encode fails, the frames are encoded after capture exactly as before. * perf(producer): encode during capture only when a core is spare for the encoder With every core busy capturing, the encoder only slowed capture down, so the overlap now runs only when the render uses fewer workers than the CPU count worker sizing sees. Also pins the reviewed producer test-lane source hash and drops an added comment line. * refactor(producer): shorter comments on the encode-while-capturing helpers |

fix(studio-server): keep transparency in proxies of VP8/VP9 alpha webm (#6025)
* fix(studio-server): keep transparency in proxies of VP8/VP9 alpha webm A webm whose alpha lives in the VP8/VP9 side channel (alpha_mode=1, pix_fmt yuv420p) was proxied to opaque H.264, and the VP8 proxy path decoded it with ffmpeg's native decoder, which drops alpha. fix(catalog): token-themed component previews no longer render black (#5995)
* fix(catalog): token-themed component previews no longer render black Seven components read theme tokens with no fallback, so with no theme pack they painted dark text on a black canvas, both when installed and in their live Catalog preview. They now carry exact-value fallbacks from their own demos, as the theme contract requires, and a test fails any registry item that reads a contract token bare. The Catalog's snippet preview wrapper also copies the tokens each demo sets on its mount, and paints the demo's background, so the preview wears the demo's theme. * fix(catalog): trim the preview theme helper comment * test(catalog): strip HTML comments with the parser in the theme fallback gate |

fix(cli): a finished capture exits even when a site's DNS never answers (#5983)
* fix(cli): a finished capture exits even when a site's DNS never answers Capture resolved every page request with the system lookup and gave up after 10 s, but a system lookup cannot be cancelled: the abandoned one kept the process alive until the OS resolver timed out, so a capture that had printed its result could run past the app's 5-minute cap and lose its folder. Resolve through c-ares instead, as hostAnswers does, and cancel it at the same 10 s deadline. * test(cli): a capture lookup that answers must exit right after too Dropping the timer cleanup kept every successful lookup alive 10 s and no test noticed. * fix(cli): capture falls back to the system lookup and exits once its result is out c-ares answers first. When it has no answer, the system lookup (hosts file, OS-only DNS) runs in a child process killed at the 10 s deadline, cached per host, because Node waits for an in-process system lookup even in process.exit. Capture then asks the CLI to exit 100 ms after printing its result, as render does. * fix(cli): capture reads the hosts file first and kills its lookup child on exit The hosts file answers before DNS, as the system lookup does (overrides and 0.0.0.0 blocks keep working). A host whose system answer is cached skips c-ares, a caller that joins a running lookup keeps its own deadline, and a pending lookup child is killed when the CLI exits. * fix(cli): capture's forced exit waits until a slow reader has the whole result The root exit now waits for stdout and stderr to hand over what is already written before it calls process.exit, so a large JSON result on a slow pipe arrives complete. A hostname listed several times in the hosts file now has every address checked, not only the first. * fix(cli): keep process exit in the CLI root and let test fixtures exit The output wait is now a helper that only waits; cli.ts still owns the process.exit. The process-ownership check treats test fixtures like tests, since each one runs as its own process. * chore(cli): run the process-ownership check before every commit A process.exit outside a process root used to pass the local hooks and fail only in CI's Preflight. |

perf(cli): a repeat check starts with the CLI and Chrome already up (#5943)
* fix(cli): the browser the CLI launches exits with it, even on kill -9 * fix(build): the root build runs on Windows * perf(cli): a repeat check runs in a process that already has the CLI and Chrome up * fix(cli): a warm check delivers all its output before it exits * fix(cli): the warm check only talks to a server that proves it is the user's The warm socket now lives in a private, owner-verified directory (XDG_RUNTIME_DIR, ~/.cache or LOCALAPPDATA) next to a 0600 token. Client and server prove the token to each other over fresh nonces before any request is sent, the request carries an HMAC of the environment instead of the environment itself, and frames are capped. * fix(cli): a warm check prints its stdout even after something went to stderr The client stopped writing frames once any frame had been written, so a check that printed a notice to stderr first lost its JSON report. * test(cli): list the warm-check client fixture as a fallow entry instead of an inline ignore * fix(cli): a check started while a warm one is busy runs cold at once on Windows The warm server stopped listening when it accepted a client. On Windows the pipe name stays alive through the served connection, so a second client's connect saw a busy pipe and waited 30 s for a free instance before running cold. It now keeps listening while serving (accept already declines anyone else) and stops when the served check finishes. * test(cli): the orphan test reads the check's own Chrome and watchdog instead of racing a poll On Windows each process listing is a PowerShell call of about a second, so a check that finishes quickly could start and close Chrome between two polls, and the test failed its own 'Chrome was seen' precondition. A fixture now records the Chrome tree and the watchdog from inside the check when its first page opens. |

* perf(cli): commands run without esbuild, puppeteer-core or sharp until they need them A host that bundles the CLI can now leave these packages out: each command loads them only where it uses them, and sharp installs once on first use when it is missing. The build check fails on any static import of them again. * fix(cli): use a host's sharp from NODE_PATH and let hosts turn first-use installs off * fix(cli): capture fails when sharp is missing, and one install serves every caller A missing sharp now stops the asset download up front instead of counting every image as unavailable. Concurrent first uses share one install, a failed install is not retried in the same run, and preview thumbnails report why. Hosts can turn off installs for a list of packages, e.g. HYPERFRAMES_NO_OPTIONAL_INSTALL=sharp. * fix(cli): snapshot --describe still works without sharp, resizing only when it is installed * style(cli): format the sharp loader and its tests * build(cli): sharp is an optional dependency, so a host can ship the CLI without it * build(studio-server): keep sharp out of the bundle now that it is optional |

* feat(cli): lambda deploy works from the npm install, no repo checkout Each release builds the Lambda handler zip on Linux, attaches it to the GitHub release, and pins its URL and sha256 (plus the SAM template) in @hyperframes/aws-lambda before npm publish. Outside a checkout, lambda deploy downloads that zip, refuses it on a sha256 mismatch, and deploys it with the packaged template. With neither a checkout nor a pinned zip it fails up front with one message naming every way out. * fix(cli): lambda deploy test mocks the pinned-handler reader, comments fit the checks * test(cli): sam tests deploy from a SAM directory, not the repo root * chore(aws-lambda): raise the package size budget for the pinned handler template Measured with pnpm@10.17.1 pack on Linux. perf(cloud): move project bytes once through shared content storage (#5772)
* perf(producer): distributed chunks download only the videos they show A project video under compiled/ that chunks extract their own frames from now goes only to the chunks that show it, like video-sources/ files. A chunk skips the readiness wait for a deferred video it does not show, so it no longer logs media_load_failed for a file it was never given. * fix(producer): cloud site uploads pack the files their id hashes, symlinks included * perf(aws-lambda): chunks read only the byte ranges of a video they need A chunk that extracts its own frames from a deferred project video now reads it from S3 by byte range through a short-lived pre-signed URL, instead of downloading and hashing the whole object first. S3 attests the object's stored SHA-256 before the URL is signed; every other artifact is still downloaded and verified as before. * perf(aws-lambda): upload project files once to a shared content-addressed area * chore(producer): keep planV2 comment share at the base level * fix(engine): verify the TLS certificate of https video inputs and never surface their signed query * fix(aws-lambda): renders re-upload a site's expired files instead of failing * perf(aws-lambda): the plan step probes project videos in place instead of downloading them * fix(engine): https video reads reconnect and time out, and redaction covers wrapped causes Signed-URL reads now pass -rw_timeout, -reconnect and -reconnect_delay_max (both Lambda builds accept them) and ffmpeg also -reconnect_on_network_error, so a transient S3 error or a stalled read fails fast or recovers instead of waiting out the process timeout. Query redaction now descends into error.cause. * fix(aws-lambda): share entry bundles and ratchet package budget * fix(aws-lambda): site ids uploaded before files.json still render A site id from an earlier sites create has only sites/<id>/project.tar.gz. renderToLambda now falls back to that tarball, which the plan step still reads, and when neither key exists it fails before starting with both keys named and the fix (run sites create again). * fix(aws-lambda): renders fail before upload on a stack too old to read sites A stack deployed before files.json sites untars the site file in its plan step and fails after four retries. renderToLambda now reads the state machine definition first and stops with STACK_TOO_OLD and the redeploy command when the plan task does not list SITE_MANIFEST_INVALID, which new SAM and CDK stacks now treat as terminal. The README's upgrade section drops the planProtocol v1 fallback, which hits the same failure. * docs(aws-lambda): document shared content storage and the upgrade path The deploy guide still described the tarball HeadObject short-circuit. It now covers the cas/sha256/ store and its 30-day lifecycle rule, the STACK_TOO_OLD, SITE_FILES_MISSING and SITE_NOT_FOUND errors, that old site ids keep working, and that every project uploads once more after the upgrade. A test keeps a troubleshooting entry for each pre-submit error. * fix(producer): chunks log each video they read by URL, without its query A chunk reading a video straight from the bucket left no trace in its log. It now logs one line per remote source with the path and the URL minus its query string, so signatures never reach the log. * fix(engine): ffmpeg errors never keep part of a signed URL's query A process's stderr tail was trimmed before its URLs were redacted, so a cut inside a signed URL left a query fragment the URL pattern no longer matched, and the fragment reached the error. The stderr tail is now redacted before every trim, and the redactor also strips a signing parameter cut off from its URL. * fix(aws-lambda): comments name the site manifest instead of a file path * fix(engine): stderr redaction survives chunk splits, and every ffmpeg spawn uses it The stderr tail was redacted on each chunk and then cut, so once a cut severed a long URL's scheme, the rest of its signature in the next chunk matched neither pattern. The tail is now kept raw with 2x slack and redacted only when the text is produced, then cut to size. The unused producer audioExtractor (its own spawn, unredacted stderr) is deleted and the parity harness's PCM decode goes through ManagedChildProcess; a test fails on any ffmpeg/ffprobe spawn in engine, producer or aws-lambda that does not. * chore(producer): record the audioExtractor deletion as intended * fix(engine): drop a signature fragment the stderr tail cut from its URL The raw tail is kept at twice the cap, but that cut can itself land inside a signature, and when redaction shrinks the rest below the cap the fragment survived. After a cut, the severed token is dropped before redaction. * refactor(engine): name the severed-token drop instead of commenting it * test(engine): a cut-off URL leaves nothing behind; aws-lambda size budget to measured * fix(producer): chunk URL-read tests use main's frame list; producer size budget to measured * chore(producer): size budget at the measured size, no headroom * chore(producer): size budget back to measured x1.05, the check's own rule |

perf(aws-lambda): size distributed renders from account concurrency limits (#5813)
* perf(aws-lambda): run chunks through a Distributed Map to lift the 40-chunk cap The inline Map runs at most 40 chunk renders at once. Both state machine definitions (CDK and SAM) now use a Distributed Map with STANDARD child executions, capped at the function's reserved concurrency so chunks past it queue instead of being throttled. Progress reads each chunk's child execution history so frames, cost and chunk errors still show up. * fix(aws-lambda): retry Lambda throttles for minutes and stop on oversized chunks A throttled task used to burn its four catch-all retries in about 30 s. It now gets its own jittered backoff of several minutes, because another render on the same function can still hold the reserved slots. Plan treats CHUNK_EXCEEDS_WORKER_TIMEOUT as terminal in both definitions. * chore(aws-lambda): trim stack comments to keep the comment share flat * fix(aws-lambda): keep render --wait working at hundreds of chunks Progress polls read the chunk Map Run's counts (one DescribeMapRun) instead of every child execution's history, take exact chunk frames and cost from the Map output once it exits, and read failed children only when the counts show a failure. The SDK client retries throttled calls up to 8 times with backoff. * feat(aws-lambda): size each render's concurrency to the account instead of a fixed 8 * fix(lambda): keep the concurrency SDK external in published modules * fix(cli): keep an existing stack's reserved concurrency on redeploy Redeploying without --concurrency sent ReservedConcurrency=-1, which removed the cap of 8 that earlier CLI versions reserved by default and stopped recording it in the state file. The override is now left out when the flag is omitted, so SAM keeps the stack's current value (a new stack still gets the template's unreserved default). The state file records the deployed value, and deploy prints the kept reservation. * fix(aws-lambda): keep progress working for callers without DescribeMapRun Callers whose IAM policy came from an earlier `lambda policies user` lack states:DescribeMapRun, so reading a running Distributed Map threw AccessDeniedException out of `lambda progress` and `render --wait` while the render itself went on to succeed. getRenderProgress now catches only that error around the map-run read, returns the parent snapshot (status, plan and assemble progress) and adds a warning to re-apply the policy, which both commands print. Other errors still throw. * fix(cli): let the documented deploy policy drop a reserved concurrency When a redeploy removes a function's reserved concurrency, CloudFormation calls lambda:DeleteFunctionConcurrency. The policy printed by `lambda policies role|user` granted only PutFunctionConcurrency, so the update failed and rolled back. Grant it, and pin it with states:DescribeMapRun in the required-actions test. * fix(aws-lambda): read smoke chunk hashes from the Distributed Map output With chunks in a Distributed Map, their task results live in child executions, so the smoke gate's chunk-hash check found 0 chunks in the parent history and failed every v1/v2 comparison. Read Chunks[] from the RenderChunks / RenderChunksV2 MapStateExited output instead, as getRenderProgress does. The stack this script deploys only has the Distributed Map, so the inline-Map path is gone. * fix(producer): cap a pinned chunk size at the worker concurrency, not 16 With --chunk-size or --target-chunk-frames and no --max-parallel-chunks, the plan still capped the render at 16 chunks however many workers the account allowed, so --chunk-size 30 on a 60 s render gave 16 chunks of 113 frames. The cap is now one wave across the worker concurrency, as the --max-parallel-chunks docs say; 16 remains when the concurrency is unknown. * feat(cli): remove a stack's reserved concurrency with --concurrency=none Since an omitted --concurrency now keeps the stack's reservation, there was no CLI way back to the unreserved default. --concurrency=none sends ReservedConcurrency=-1, the state file records the stack as unreserved and deploy says the reservation was removed. Positive N and an omitted flag behave as before; any other value is rejected instead of being silently ignored. * chore(aws-lambda): raise the package size budget for account-sized concurrency Measured with pnpm@10.17.1 pack after rebasing on main with the S3 assembly change: 67,763 packed / 244,685 unpacked; the budget is the check's own 5% headroom over that. |

perf(cloud): assemble chunk output with a single faststart index (#5812)
* perf(producer): assemble chunks that carry audio under one faststart index Reads each chunk's moov, merges the sample tables into one moov at the front, and writes the chunks' mdat payloads after it unchanged: the same bytes storage can copy into place. The assembler no longer needs the plan audio for such plans. * perf(aws-lambda): build the final mp4 inside S3 with its index up front The Lambda plan asks chunks to carry their audio. Assemble writes the faststart header as part 1 of a multipart upload and copies each chunk's mdat payload with UploadPartCopy, so the video bytes never pass through the function; any failure aborts the upload. * fix(engine): a chunk's first frame shows its own time, not the composition's opening frame * fix(producer): stitch silent AAC tails and clean failed outputs * fix(producer): open stitched chunks read-only with an explicit mode * chore(aws-lambda): raise the package size budget for S3-side MP4 assembly handler.js and index.js each bundle the new S3 stitch code (+5,550 bytes apiece) and s3Stitch.d.ts adds 970: +3,479 packed and +12,070 unpacked over main, measured with the CI pack. The budget rises by exactly that delta. * fix(aws-lambda): v1 plans give chunks their audio too, so both protocols match * perf(producer): plans whose chunks carry audio encode it once, at the frames' exact length * test(producer): terminate the plan audio ffprobe argv like every other probe |

feat(studio): the desktop-app button says Install the desktop app and never dead-ends (#5854)
* feat(studio): the header's desktop-app button says Install the desktop app and never dead-ends The button now reads "Install the desktop app" beside Framey drawn as the app draws it. Where the app is installed, a press opens this project in it; a folder preview serves from a bare index.html gets its hyperframes.json first, so the app no longer refuses it. Without the app, the button links straight to hyperframes.dev's download, and a failed open lands there too. Platforms with no build of the app show no button. Telemetry now records eligibility, one impression, the click and the press outcome, with OS, app installed and download available. * feat(studio): the desktop-app button records eligibility, impression, click and outcome * feat(studio): a desktop-app press carries its page id to the download and the app hand-off * chore(studio): describe Framey's drawing without internal names * feat(studio): the desktop-app button opens a guide that walks download, install and open Without the app, the header button opens a card where Framey walks three steps: the download opens in a new tab, the install is found by asking the preview server while the card is open, and the project opens through the existing hand-off. A failed hand-off shows the folder to copy and Try again. With the app ready the press opens the project directly. Each step change is recorded through trackStudioEvent; a download is never counted as an install. * fix(studio): the desktop-app guide counts one install per page The app removed and found again on the same page recorded install_detected twice; a page latch keeps it to one, as the telemetry contract says. |

feat(media-use): source sound effects from Openverse with the bundled library offline (#5753)
* feat(media-use): source sound effects from Openverse with the bundled library offline * docs(media-use): name the resolve credits file without a dead path * style(skills): restore the slideshow harness formatting the pinned formatter expects * fix(media-use): keep Openverse credit text to one safe line and read credits without a race * fix(media-use): Openverse sound effects record as the engine's, so a rerun writes no copy * fix(media-use): two sound effect resolves at once each keep their credit line * fix(media-use): the standalone media-use copy takes the same credit lock * fix(media-use): a sound effect credit is always one safe line with a provider link writeSfxCredit cleans the credit and source link itself, since the CLI writes credits from a saved record. Backticks, brackets, angle brackets and backslashes are stripped, and a source link must be https on an Openverse audio provider host (Freesound, Jamendo, Wikimedia Commons) or it is left out. |

feat(cli): beats tracks the music with the TypeScript beat tracker, without Chrome (#5634)
* feat(cli): audio answers beats, downbeats, bpm, sections and describe through a provider ladder Beats and downbeats try api, apple-mu, beat-this, then signal; sections try api, apple-mu, then signal; describe tries api, then apple-sound. bpm is read off whichever provider placed the beats. Each provider says whether it can run here and why not, and the ladder warns when it passes one over. The signal rung is a TypeScript tracker: log-band spectral flux, autocorrelation tempo with a log-normal prior, Ellis dynamic-programming beats with a windowed local tempo, a low-band bar phase, and Foote novelty sections snapped to beats. It reports no steady beat when the onsets do not repeat. The api rung posts the audio to HYPERFRAMES_AUDIO_API_URL with HYPERFRAMES_AUDIO_API_KEY and moves each answered time onto the nearest signal beat within a quarter beat, reporting what moved and what did not. beat-this runs Beat This! from a configured Python and local weights and never downloads. apple-sound runs macOS's sound classifier through a Swift helper. apple-mu reports that Music Understanding needs macOS 27. words are no longer accepted: they come from hyperframes transcribe. * docs(cli): audio's beats, downbeats, bpm, sections, describe and their provider ladder * feat(cli): beats tracks the music with the TypeScript beat tracker, without Chrome hyperframes beats and Studio's beat detection now share analyzeMusicFromSignal: band energies, then the spectral-flux tracker in audioRhythm.ts, then each beat's loudness for its strength. The CLI decodes with the same ffmpeg path as hyperframes audio, so beats no longer launches headless Chrome. Studio still decodes in the browser and passes every channel. The old analyzer averaged bpm-detective's tempo with an energy-peak tempo it had only compared after folding both into one octave, and phased a rigid grid from noisy peaks. On 22 real tracks with exact script grids it found the tempo 18% of the time with beat F 0.437; this finds it 91% of the time with F 0.887, and refuses the other two rather than guess. Below a tracker confidence of 0.2 no beats are reported, so ambient or rubato music gets no invented grid and the CLI still writes nothing. bpm-detective, the energy-peak grid, the headless analyzer and its prebuilt bundle are gone. * fix(core): tempo reads 96 BPM off beats on 10 ms frames, not 95.2 The tracker places beats on 10 ms frames, so a 625 ms beat lands 620 or 630 ms apart and the median interval reported 95.2 or 96.8 BPM. Tempo now averages the intervals within 10% of the median: as robust to a skipped or doubled beat, without the frame-sized step. Both hyperframes audio and hyperframes beats read it. * fix(cli): remove redundant audio context comment * fix(core): remove redundant tempo interval comment * fix(ci): record beat analyzer removals and browser evidence * fix(core): keep flat audio novelty in one section * chore: keep PR capture evidence out of the source tree * fix(cli): honor BPM provider pins before analysis |

fix(build): ship NodeNext-resolvable declarations from every package (#5532)
* fix(build): ship NodeNext-resolvable declarations from every package tsc copies relative specifiers verbatim, so packages whose sources use bundler-style extensionless imports (core, inspector) published .d.ts files that a module/moduleResolution nodenext consumer cannot resolve. Core already rewrote its emitted JavaScript for this, but not its declarations. Move that rewrite to scripts/rewrite-relative-import-extensions.mjs, make it cover .d.ts too (adding .js or /index.js, and failing the build when a declaration import has no declaration), and run it after every tsc emit: core, engine, sdk, producer, aws-lambda, gcp-cloud-run and inspector. verify:packed-manifests now typechecks the clean packed consumer with skipLibCheck false and type-only imports of every typed subpath, so an unresolvable import inside a published declaration fails the gate and is attributed to its package. ci(studio): run the edit accuracy slice on PRs and the full grid in the merge queue (#5566)
* ci(studio): run the edit accuracy slice on PRs and the full grid in the merge queue The edit accuracy gate used about 83% of CI job-minutes, ran on changes that cannot reach the bench (encoder, render and CLI command code), and never ran in the merge queue, so main could drift and fail every later PR. - Path filter: its own paths-filter step with some-with-excludes, limited to what the bench runs: Studio, studio-server, core, parsers, player, sdk, lint, the CLI preview server path, and the engine and producer modules in the import closure of browserManager, frameCapture and both fileServers. Test files, fixtures and docs no longer trigger it. The bench's webmcp-host.mjs, which it imports but the old filter missed, now does. - merge_group: the filter's base is the event's base_sha there. In the queue the full grid always runs (20 shards) whenever the filter matches. The queue is the last point before main, and nothing else measures the full grid now that PRs run a slice. Skipping it would let zoom 50/200 and rotated regressions land on main, where they fail every later PR against the banked baseline. That drift caused about a fifth of past gate failures. - PRs: the existing `pr` grid becomes zoom 100 with no rotation in both nestings (435 of 2061 cases), in 5 shards. Of the 11 PRs whose real regressions the full gate caught, this slice held a regressed case for 10. - Gate: newly passing cases missing from baseline.json are listed in the comment and as a notice, not failed (45% of past gate failures). A partial grid compares only the cases it ran. `--shards` fails the gate when a shard reported no results, and only a full grid writes a bankable baseline.json. - The required check "Studio: edit accuracy gate" keeps its name. It is skipped when the filter does not match, as before. - check-test-reachability models negated globs as exclusions under some-with-excludes and still fails closed elsewhere. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * ci(studio): run the edit accuracy gate when its install inputs change The path filter missed the root package.json, the dependency install script and the ffmpeg setup action, which Build and every shard run. A change to any of them could alter the bench while the gate skipped. Add them, and a test that every local input of the jobs that build and run the bench is in the filter. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * ci(edit-accuracy): cover transitive bench inputs in the path filter The filter test now walks the files the bench actually runs: the bench entry files, their relative and @hyperframes/* imports, the CLI commands the bench invokes, and the build scripts, configs and files those builds read for every package the bench reaches. Globs are matched with picomatch, the matcher dorny/paths-filter uses. The walk found 183 inputs the filter missed, including the producer's frameCapture.ts, build-hf-early-stub.ts and stubs/hf-early-stub.ts, the engine services behind engine/src/index.ts, and the CLI browser command. The filter now covers them. picomatch is not in the no-install Test reachability job, so the filter test moves to test:scripts. feat(cli): save check, snapshot and render artifacts per revision (#5522)
* feat(cli): save check, snapshot and render artifacts per revision * fix(cli): keep clean --snapshots inside the project A symlinked .hyperframes or artifacts folder was followed, so the command deleted snapshot and check files outside the project. * test(cli): keep check, snapshot, and render successful when recording fails A held history or a corrupt output registry warns and leaves the command result alone. * fix(cli): drop snapshot records when a replaced run is not recorded A reused --output rewrites the files even when history is busy. Those records are removed so the old revision does not keep the new pixels. The preview checkpoint stops waiting after five seconds. A bad PNG header no longer fails the snapshot. * fix(studio-server): keep the video-state comment share from rising The forget helper's doc comment pushed the file above its base share. * fix(cli): post the preview checkpoint and keep cleanup inside artifacts A preview checkpoint with no body was sent as GET, so Studio never ran it. Cleanup now requires the real path to stay under the artifacts folder. A failed follow-up drop does not warn twice. The studio-server unpacked budget covers the record-dropping helper. * docs(cli): shorten the snapshot skill notes The command examples already show range and composition. The prose only keeps the output path and the flags that are easy to misuse. * chore: leave package headroom for artifact cleanup * test(cli): compare artifact paths portably * style(cli): format portable artifact assertion |
