fix(core): read CSS animation opacity through color grading's own hide (#3329) (#3507)
When a color-graded element has a CSS entrance animation (e.g. opacity: 0→1), the first drawEntry() copies the animation's initial opacity "0" to sourceOpacityForCanvas, then hideSourceElement() sets opacity:0 !important on the source. On subsequent frames the hiddenByColorGrading guard correctly prevents reading back grading's own hide — but also prevents updating the canvas opacity as the animation progresses, freezing both source and canvas at opacity 0 for the entire render. Fix: when the source is hidden by color grading, temporarily restore the authored inline opacity before reading getComputedStyle, so the CSS animation's current value shows through. The restore–read–rehide is synchronous, so no repaint occurs between the style writes. Co-authored-by: Miguel Ángel <miguel.sierra@heygen.com> |

fix(producer, core): honor relative data-start id-refs in render media scheduling (#3252)
compileTimingAttrs/injectDurations used parseFloat, so data-start="intro" wrote a NaN data-end and extract preferred that over duration; parseNumeric now skips the id-ref (parseVideoElements already resolves it). collectRenderMedia's resolveHostWindow likewise read host data-start with parseFloat, so chained sub-composition slots (data-start="hook") stacked at 0-2s and every scene after the first rendered black. It now resolves host starts through the shared resolveReferencedStart, matching the media parsers. Fixes #3361. |

fix(core): prevent cross-origin Web Audio capture from silencing audio
Classify each <audio> element before Web Audio capture: same-origin, CORS-opted-in, or a non-http(s) scheme stays on the primary createMediaElementSource() path; cross-origin media without a crossorigin opt-in withholds that call (the Web Audio spec makes such a node output silence without throwing) and falls back to fetch + decodeAudioData, preserving the FX graph whenever the server allows CORS. Recheck the route at the transport's irreversible capture boundary, and account for currentSrc, src, and <source> candidates the same way the HTML resource-selection algorithm does. Emit a stable preview diagnostic (`runtime_web_audio_bypass`) at media discovery time, not only from playback scheduling, so `hyperframes check` — which seeks but never plays — can surface it as a `web_audio_bypass` finding. Diagnostics are suppressed during export rendering, where the producer mixes audio offline and already applies the FX chain. The existing non-unit-rate fail-closed rule stays scoped to fx-chain/automation so this fix does not newly mute grouped or above-unity tracks. Takes over #3459 with the data-native-audio escape hatch removed per review feedback: the automatic cross-origin detection already covers the cases that mattered, so the extra per-element opt-in attribute, its route-classifier branch, and its diagnostic path are dropped in favor of a single automatic behavior. fix(skills, lint): correct composition-contract claims the code contradicts (#3468)
The runtime absorbed a series of authoring mistakes over time and `runtime/init.ts` says so in its own comments, but the skills kept teaching the old rules. Four of them actively cost an agent a failing run: add `crossorigin` (lint rejects it unconditionally), never build a timeline inside `async` (lint calls that the documented contract), never `gsap.set` later-scene clips (two fixHints instruct exactly that), and 12 copyable media snippets with no `id`, which render silent. Corrected in every place each claim appeared, including `hyperframes-animation`, three workflow scripts, the scaffolded project instructions, the CLI `docs` command, and the public docs site: `data-track-index` is a Studio display lane the render never reads, `class="clip"` is a layout convention rather than a visibility requirement, timed elements may nest, the visibility window is half-open, sub-composition host dimensions are backfilled, and the root-fill rule applies only to the layered-composite path. Behaviour changes, each backed by a render rather than by reading code: - `timeline_registry_missing_init` deleted. The runtime creates the registry before any inline script; a composition without the guard line renders and animates correctly. - `video_nested_in_timed_element` kept, message corrected. A rendered repro shows the nested-with-local-start case really does break, so the rule guards a real defect, but nothing is "FROZEN": the extractor ignores the wrapper's offset while visibility uses it, so the clip shows wrong frames and then vanishes. - `mediaRenderIds` now stamps media whose source is a `<source>` child, closing a duplicate-id gap the old `[src]`-only selector left open. - Stale messages fixed on `subcomposition_root_styled_by_class` and `deprecated_data_layer`. `coreSkillContent.test.ts` pinned the literal sentence that made root `data-start` look required, so it is narrowed to structure plus the regression it genuinely catches. Not covered, and flagged in the PR: the media global-vs-local start heuristic in `runtime/init.ts` is the root cause behind the nested-video defect. Removing it changes the meaning of existing compositions and needs its own deprecation. |

feat(audio): open the audio FX, group and mute features to everyone (#3401)
* feat(audio): open the audio FX, group and mute features to everyone The twelve-PR audio stack landed on main with all three of its canaries still at 0%, so the FX rack, the group rows, mute and solo are in the build and reachable by nobody. This removes the gates rather than raising the numbers: a canary that gates nothing is a branch every future reader has to evaluate. Gone: - the `audio-fx-rack`, `audio-track-mute` and `audio-groups` registry entries; - the five studio gates they fed — the Audio FX section in `PropertyPanelFlat`, the mute label, the muted strike-through and the solo button in `TimelineTrackPlainHeader`, and the group-row derivation in `useTimelineTrackDerivations`. Each feature now renders on its own precondition (an audio track, a grouped track) exactly as it did for an enrolled user. The old test pinned `audio-fx-rack` at 0% and asserted it was registered, which is the opposite of what should hold now. Replaced with a pin that no `audio-*` canary exists at all: re-registering one silently re-hides a shipped feature, and nothing else in the tree would say so. Verified it fails when one is added back. The equivalent removal on wa-25-review-fixes (#3363) can no longer land — that branch is 105 commits and 310 files divergent from main now that the stack has squash-merged past it. * docs(audio): retire the last references to the audio canaries Two leftovers the gate removal did not reach. `TimelineTrackPlainHeader.tsx` still said "Gated: the relabel ships behind the canary, unlike the preview fix" above the function that picks Mute vs Hide. Nothing gates it now, so the comment asserted the opposite of the code. `docs/weekly-updates.mdx` is published, and it told readers the audio work is "staged behind a canary at zero percent, so none of it is visible by default" and to "set `HF_CANARY_AUDIO_FX_RACK=on` to use the rack today". That env var maps to no registry entry any more, so following the instruction does nothing at all. The week's record stays — it is a dated entry — but it now says the rollout completed and that the variable is inert. * fix(studio): name the mute action per track, and pin the newly-live audio rows Review findings on the canary removal. All three are in code the 0% gate made unreachable, so this is the first time any of it runs for a user. *blocker* — `visibilityButtonLabel`'s audio branch returned "Muted" / "Mute": the current STATE rather than the action, so nothing told a screen-reader user that activating an already-muted row would unmute it, and it dropped `suffix`, so every audio row shared one accessible name. Music plus VO is the ordinary case, which makes that two identical buttons. Now `Unmute track N` / `Mute track N`, matching the wording `timelineTrackVisibility` already writes into undo history for the same click. `showAsMute` also picks the icon, so this is the control's whole identity, not a tooltip. Tests, for paths that had never executed enabled — a canary at 0% returns `out_of_cohort` before bucketing, and studio additionally excludes `navigator.webdriver`, so no suite could reach them: - `VisibilityButton` — both audio states, two rows staying distinguishable, the visual branch unchanged, and the callback still taking the real track key rather than the display row. Fails on the old label. - `useTimelineTrackDerivations` — an ungrouped project stays in raw ascending order with no groups, and an interleaved group's members become contiguous under an anchor at `memberTracks[0] - 0.5` while the ungrouped track between them keeps its place. Plus label/volume/mute mirroring and the id fallback. Also pins the three retired canary names individually rather than by prefix: `audio-fx-rack` coming back is caught either way, but `fx-rack` escaped a `startsWith("audio-")` check. The family guard stays alongside it. * fix(studio): record the row the mute button announced, not a second derivation Review finding: the header's track number and the undo-history label's are computed from two different orderings, and un-gating `audio-groups` is what makes them diverge. The header's row comes from the group-aware list — `groupTimelineTracks` emits a synthetic anchor row per group and pulls members contiguous. The history's comes from `timelineTrackOrder`, a plain ascending sort of element-bearing keys with no anchors. On the fixture in this PR's own derivation test, grouped order `[-0.5, 0, 2, 1]` against ascending `[0, 1, 2]`: clicking mute on the group's first member said "Mute track 2" and recorded "Mute track 1". Off-cohort this could not happen — the old branch returned raw tracks, so both sides sorted the same way. `onToggleTrackHidden` now carries the display row the clicked control rendered, and `toggleTimelineTrackHidden` prefers it over deriving its own. One number instead of two derivations, which is what `timelineTrackDisplay`'s "one owner of what track number does the user see" already promised. The callback still acts on the real fractional key, so nothing muted the wrong row before or now — only the announced and recorded row was wrong. Also pins the rest of the newly-live surface: the solo button's presence and pressed state, its absence on a visual track, and the strike-through for both a row's own mute and a group mute (with the title that says which). Three existing call-site assertions now check the threaded row too. |

fix(lint): surface unloadable media variable defaults, stop reading data-var-src ids as paths (#3406)
A data-var-src value the runtime refuses to load is dropped at bind time and the element's authored fallback src renders instead, so the video ships the wrong media and the render still exits 0. lint said nothing, because the scheme allowlist only existed inside the runtime. Move that predicate into @hyperframes/parsers, where both the runtime and the linter can reach it, and error at lint time on any declared default it rejects. The value provably cannot load, so there is no false positive. While reproducing that, lint turned out to report an unrelated missing file: `\bsrc\s*=` also matches the tail of `data-var-src="bg"` (hyphen to `s` is a word boundary), and `[^>]*` is greedy, so the variable id beat the real src earlier in the same tag. Every binding was reported as a missing asset named after the variable, and `<audio data-var-src>` was told the render would be silent. All three copies of that regex now share one helper that requires whitespace before the attribute. |

fix(core): bind native window methods in the scoped sub-composition proxy (#3378)
The scoped window proxy handed native methods back unbound, so `this` at
call time was the Proxy and Chrome rejected it with "Illegal invocation".
That broke window.addEventListener, setTimeout, matchMedia and
getComputedStyle inside every sub-composition, including the
window.addEventListener("hf-seek", ...) form the Three.js and TypeGPU
adapters document. The sibling document and gsap proxies in this file
already bound; this one was the outlier.
Bind only non-constructors: Function.prototype.bind drops static members,
so binding a class exposed on window would silently strip its statics.
Built-in methods have no .prototype, classes and constructors do.

feat(studio, core): mute groups, and hear-only-this that cannot reach the export (#3291)
B5: mute and solo, on groups and tracks (track mute already shipped by A2 —
nothing to build there).
Group mute — persisted as data-hidden on the <hf-audio-group> element itself
(never written onto members, per design doc §2.1's state-restoration
warning). Studio action reuses B7's generic setAudioGroupAttribute
(setQuiet/setLive split) rather than duplicating toggleTimelineTrackHidden's
shape — same one-atomic-patch/one-undo-entry contract, already built for
exactly this purpose. Render: B4 already drops every member of a
data-hidden group (confirmed by a new audioMixer.test.ts case — no
production change needed there). Preview: a dedicated muteGain node
(groupInput -> [fx] -> muteGain -> output -> master) so a mute toggle
never fights scheduleVolumeLane's ramps on the same param — the same
hazard B7's volume fader was split out to avoid. Mid-playback toggles
sync via a new syncAudioGroupMute pass in init.ts (a group carries no
data-start, so it's invisible to the existing visibility-node query).
Members of a muted group render the strikethrough label treatment
(TimelineTrackPlainHeader's isGroupMuted, sourced from
TimelineElement.audioGroupHidden) — display only, no attribute touched.
Solo — "Hear only this": a new session-only store slice (audioSoloSlice,
soloed: ReadonlySet<string> of clip/group ids, never track numbers, never
serialized). Predicate (isAudibleUnderSolo, packages/core/src/audioGroups.ts
so both the store and the preview transport share one definition): an
element is audible while any solo is active only if it or its own group is
soloed. "Siblings, never ancestors" lives in the graph, not the predicate —
solo gain is a per-element stage only; group buses are never attenuated by
solo, so a soloed member's path through its group stays open by
construction. Preview: a dedicated per-element soloGain in
webAudioTransport.ts (parallel to the mute mechanics), pushed via
window.__hf.setAudioSolo — a direct call, not an attribute write, so it
can't ride the visibility-diff path mute uses. media.ts's HTMLMedia
fallback folds the same predicate into its per-tick volume computation
(the same seam A2 used for data-hidden). Half-lit group indicator
(isGroupHalfLitUnderSolo) for "not soloed itself, but a member is".
Exclusive-by-default toggle, ⌘/Ctrl-click to add/remove, TimelineSoloButton
(⌗) beside mute on both track and group headers. Transport-bar banner
("Hearing only <label> — your export is not affected", Clear button) added
in PlayerControls.tsx, reading labels straight off the live preview DOM.
Export-safety, the most important property here: toggling/adding/clearing
solo never calls setAttribute/removeAttribute on any element and never
invokes the project save path (both asserted directly via spies in
audioSoloSlice.test.ts) — solo cannot reach an export by construction, not
by convention.
Also: extracted useHydrateActiveCompPathFromUrl out of App.tsx (a
pre-existing, unrelated effect) to stay under the 600-line filesize cap
after wiring useAudioSoloBridge in; and fixed a circular dependency the
solo-banner wiring introduced (useAudioSoloBridge.ts now imports
usePlayerStore from its concrete module instead of the player/ barrel,
which re-exports PlayerControls.tsx — the barrel path is what closed the
cycle).
Gates: bun run build clean; packages/core full suite 2379/2379; packages/
studio full suite 4276/4294 (18 pre-existing todo); packages/engine
audioMixer.grouping.test.ts 5/5; oxfmt/oxlint clean on all 23 touched
files; fallow clean (0 new circular deps, 0 new filesize/complexity
findings).

feat(studio, core): a volume and a living meter on the group row (#3290)
* feat(studio, core): a volume and a living meter on the group row B7: the group bus strip — droppable, and deliberately minimal per the casual-user design constraints (groups doc §5): a volume slider, a level bar that moves with the sound, and the words "Too loud" when it clips. No dB numbers, no peak-hold readout, no routing row. Transport (core): groupInput() now routes each group through input -> [FX chain or dry passthrough] -> output -> master, with one AnalyserNode per group tapped off `output` (post-FX, so the meter reads what the bus actually outputs) — fftSize 256, level not spectrum. groupLevel(groupId) returns RMS-ish level 0..1 + a clipped flag off a reused per-group buffer (no per-frame allocation), or null when the group is idle/unknown. The runtime posts group-levels messages only while playing, piggybacking the existing message channel rather than adding a new poll loop. Studio: groupLevels.ts is a plain pub-sub store (mirrors liveTime.ts's shape) fed by useTimelinePlayer's message handler via parseGroupLevelsMessage; useGroupLevel throttles re-renders to ~33ms. TimelineGroupBusStrip renders in the group row's own `∿` lane area (STRIP_H, already sized in B2's row-height pipeline) — drag writes live via onSetAudioGroupAttributeLive, release commits one undo entry via onSetAudioGroupAttributeQuiet (packages/studio/src/hooks/ timelineAudioGroupVolume.ts, extracted from timelineTrackVisibility.ts to stay under the 600-line cap; mirrors FxParamRow's live/commit split). "Too loud" holds for ~2s after the last clipped block, tracked in the component, not the transport. volumeByGroup mirrors labelByGroup in useTimelineTrackDerivations.ts so the strip's slider round-trips the group's own data-volume. Fixed two pre-existing group-routing tests in webAudioTransport.test.ts that hardcoded gain-node creation order/count — B7 inserts an extra `output` gain node between the group's input and master (for the meter to tap), which shifted node indices the tests asserted on directly. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(studio, core): keep useTimelinePlayer under the size cap and the level buffer non-shared Two CI gates, both from this branch's own additions. `File size check`: `useTimelinePlayer.ts` sat at 599 lines on main and the group-levels branch pushed it to 605 (cap 600). Extracted the `window.message` router — which already carried a `fallow-ignore-next-line complexity` admitting it had outgrown its home — into `previewMessageRouter.ts`, with the fixture lease, sender check and protocol accept-gate collapsed into one `acceptedPreviewMessage` so the listener is a flat dispatch and the suppression is retired rather than moved. Same branches, same refs, no behaviour change; the file lands at 561. `Test: runtime contract`: `levelBuf: Float32Array` resolves to `Float32Array<ArrayBufferLike>` under `tsconfig.runtime.json`, and `getFloatTimeDomainData` will not take a possibly-shared buffer (TS2345). Pinned the field to `Float32Array<ArrayBuffer>`, which is what `new Float32Array(analyser.fftSize)` already produces. Also drops `EditorShell.selectionSync.test.tsx`'s `vi.mock("./StudioFeedbackBar")` — main deleted that component in favour of `feedback/StudioFeedbackCard`, and touching this file for the group prop put the dangling path in fallow's scope. --------- Co-authored-by: Claude Sonnet 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

feat(engine): render grouped audio through a summed, FX-processed bus (#3289)
* feat(core): route grouped audio through a group bus in preview An audio element carrying `data-audio-group` no longer lands its gain on the master bus directly — it feeds a per-group `GainNode` (built lazily on first use, one per group id) which itself feeds master, so members of the same group sum before the ear, ready for a group-level FX chain and volume/mute in later steps. An id with no matching `<hf-audio-group>` element still gets a plain, unprocessed bus rather than losing the track. The group's own chain and volume lane are wired through the same `attachElementFxChain`/`scheduleVolumeLane` every element already uses, against the group's clock — composition time (design doc §1.3), since a group has no `data-start` and a missing one parses as 0. The bus persists across `stopAll()` (mirroring `_masterGain`'s own lifecycle) so replaying a group does not rebuild its chain; only `destroy()` disposes it. Render is untouched — stays flat until B4; `audio-groups` is still a 0% canary so nothing ships this to a real composition without hand-authoring `data-audio-group`. Also: `audioGroupOf` (B1) crashed on any element lacking a real `tagName`/ `getAttribute` — exactly the shape of most `HTMLMediaElement` test doubles in this suite, including this file's own `mockEl`. Made it tolerant, same style as `readChain`'s existing guard in `runtime/audioFx.ts`. `schedulePlayback` was already 110 lines pre-existing before this diff; extracted `resolveDestination` and `handleSourceEnded` to shrink it to 92, then suppressed the remainder (inherently sequential graph wiring, not a decision tree) per the same precedent B2 used on `TimelineLogicalRow`. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * feat(studio, lint): carve targets voiceover groups — always, when plural Plural voiceover carve now targets a group instead of naming each clip: `resolveCarveSourceIds` (core `audioGroups.ts`) expands a group id to its current members at analysis time, so a clip added to the group later is covered without touching `sources`. The picker (`useFxCarve.ts`) offers a grouped voice as one option instead of one row per member, tests overlap as a union of member spans (a group overlaps the bed if ANY member does), and prefers a qualifying group over its individual members in `autoSourceIds`. Picking two or more ungrouped voice clips in the carve flow now mints a group behind them (`mintGroupId`, de-duped against every id in the document) and writes `data-audio-group` on each picked clip atomically, one undo entry — `createAudioGroupAndAssignMembers` in `timelineTrackVisibility.ts` copies `setElementsHidden`'s multi-target write shape. The DSP is untouched: `mixCarveSources` already sums multiple sources correctly (verified in the design doc's own investigation) — this only fixes the picker. New lint rule `audio_carve_ungrouped_sources` (`packages/lint/src/rules/ media.ts`, alongside `audio_volume_double_automation`) warns when a `data-fx-carve`'s `sources` names two or more plain clip ids instead of a group — the shape that silently rots when a clip is added. `/hyperframes- audio` states the same rule as an invariant, not a tip, with the grouped- narration HTML example from the design doc. The group-matching and auto-group logic (`withAutoGroupedSources`, `collectCarveCandidates`) is split into `useFxCarveGrouping.ts` — `useFxCarve.ts` was pushing past the 600-line cap. `resolveNextCarveSettings` is deliberately NOT an `async function`: wrapping it in one would force a microtask on every call, including the synchronous branch — the exact bug `withAutoGroupedSources`'s own sync-when-possible contract exists to avoid, and one caught via `propertyPanelAudioFxGroup.test.tsx` (10 failures) before fixing it back to a plain function the caller conditionally awaits. Also extracted `useEffectiveTimelineDuration` out of `App.tsx` and `useRemoveBackground` out of `StudioRightPanel.tsx` (both pushed past 600 lines from an added prop wire), and decomposed `useFxCarve.ts`'s picker IIFE to clear fallow's complexity gate. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * feat(engine): render grouped audio through a summed, FX-processed bus Renders what B3 already routes in preview: a group's members sub-mix into one PCM WAV at full composition length (adelay already places each member at its composition position, so the group WAV's t=0 IS composition time), run through the group's own FX chain and automation via the same applyAudioFxChain/envelope-bake path a member uses, then fold into the flat track list as one processed AudioTrack — the final mixAudioTracks call never has to know groups exist. Gain law verified against plans/spikes/amix-nesting-spike.sh (brought over from the plans branch, along with audioMixer.grouping.test.ts, since both were committed there and never merged to origin/main — every step branch in this stack descends from origin/main): the sub-mix's own amix prefers normalize=0 (nulls exactly against a flat mix), falling back to per-node compensation by the group's OWN member count only when this ffmpeg build's amix rejects the option. Carrying any other count into a nested amix node is the exact +2.499 dB silent failure the spike measured — confirmed by a manual mutation check (wrong-count compensation landed 3.5 dB hot, exactly 20*log10(3/2) for a 2-member group compensated as 3; reverted after confirming the level test catches it). A group element carrying data-hidden drops every member before the sub-mix ever runs (RULES: mute-by-drop, never mute-by-volume-0) — parseAudioElements now resolves groups once per parse and skips hidden-group members the same way it already skips data-hidden ancestors. HfAudioGroup (packages/core/src/audioGroups.ts, from B1) gains fxChain, automation, volume and hidden, read off the group element the same way resolveAudioGroups already reads data-label — audioGroups.test.ts updated for the wider shape plus new coverage for the added reads. it.todo("mixes a grouped composition at the same level as the ungrouped one") is now a real, passing test; two more added per the step doc (FX routing isolation, member-level envelope survives grouping). Also extracted `useEffectiveTimelineDuration` out of `App.tsx` and `useRemoveBackground` out of `StudioRightPanel.tsx` (both pushed past 600 lines from an added prop wire), and decomposed `useFxCarve.ts`'s picker IIFE to clear fallow's complexity gate. feat(core): route grouped audio through a group bus in preview (#3287)
An audio element carrying `data-audio-group` no longer lands its gain on the master bus directly — it feeds a per-group `GainNode` (built lazily on first use, one per group id) which itself feeds master, so members of the same group sum before the ear, ready for a group-level FX chain and volume/mute in later steps. Also: `audioGroupOf` (B1) crashed on any element lacking a real `tagName`/ `getAttribute` — exactly the shape of most `HTMLMediaElement` test doubles in this suite, including this file's own `mockEl`. feat(core): the audio group model — element, membership, helpers (#3278)
* feat(core, studio): the character presets pitch shift unlocks Chipmunk, Giant, and Monster ship as presets on the pitchshift worklet P1 added: Chipmunk pitches up and adds sparkle, Giant pitches down with weight and a compressor to hold the extra low end together, Monster pitches down further with saturation growl and a close, tight reverb. Every param verified against the live effect registry rather than sketched — the compressor/reverb/saturate/shelf keys all match exactly. Each gets its own title treatment (font, size, tracking, hue) so the FX rack's per-preset styling coverage and hue-distance/background-uniqueness tests extend cleanly to the three new entries, and complaint-line copy in the non-voice vocabulary the audit test enforces (no speech words — "Giant" over CapCut's "Deep Voice", as the design doc records). Updates plans/audio-fx-presets.md's two limits paragraphs to record that pitch shift landed and this half of the character list now ships; Robot and Alien stay out of scope (ring modulation, still unbuilt). Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * feat(core): the audio group model — element, membership, helpers Introduces <hf-audio-group> and data-audio-group as the group model B2–B7 and C1 build on: a non-rendering group element carries a label and (later) an FX chain, membership lives on the member's own data-audio-group attribute rather than DOM nesting, so a track removed from the document simply drops out of the group on the next resolve — nothing dangles. Groups do not nest: data-audio-group on the group element itself is ignored. A group with members but no <hf-audio-group> element still resolves, label falling back to the id, so hand-authored HTML degrades gracefully. Audio only in v1 — video members are ignored. Parse-only: nothing routes or sums audio yet (B3/B4). Adds the audio-groups canary at percentage: 0 gating the future Studio UI; the element and attribute parse and play regardless of enrollment. Verified rather than assumed per this plan's standing rule: the timeline's clip-collection selector ([data-start], [data-track-index], [data-composition-id], video, audio, img) already excludes the group element with zero changes, and no lint rule flags unknown elements or data-* attributes, so neither needed touching — confirmed by grep and by running `hyperframes lint` against a fixture containing the element (0 findings referencing it). The step doc's suggested display:none injection point (an existing base stylesheet in the runtime) does not exist in this codebase; skipped rather than inventing new infrastructure, since an empty, childless custom element already renders as a zero-size inline box with no visible output — the same reasoning the lint check above confirms empirically. feat(core): pitch shift — a granular shifter as the fifth FX worklet (#3276)
Adds hf-pitchshift alongside the four existing dynamics worklets: a dual-tap granular delay line, 100 ms grain, taps 180° apart so one is always crossfading in as the other resets — hides the splice each tap makes on wrap. Read-tap speed relative to the write head tracks the semitone ratio, so pitch shifts without changing duration. Registered through the same workletBuilder/dispose-message path the other four use (so shapeOf never rebuilds on a param tweak, and a chain drop retires it), wired into the registry with a plain-language copy entry and a ~0.2s chain tail (two grains). One implementation, shared by preview (Web Audio in the page) and render (the same worklet run inside an OfflineAudioContext in the headless browser) — confirmed by a browser-render test that measures the actual output frequency, not just that it differs from input. fix(core, studio): silence hidden audio in preview, and call it mute (#3275)
* feat(studio): make presets the primary path into the FX rack
Presets button becomes the stacked primary control (bold, filled outline);
Add-effect demoted to a small trailing link ("+ effect"). Button onClick
bodies and audition-revert logic are unchanged.

* fix(core, studio): silence hidden audio in preview, and call it mute
Preview scheduled every audio[data-start] regardless of data-hidden, so a
hidden audio track was silent in the export but audible in preview — render
was already correct, this was a preview-only parity bug. Web Audio scheduling
now skips (and re-syncs on toggle) any audio clip under a data-hidden
ancestor; the HTMLMedia per-tick volume path folds the same check into
effectiveVolume without touching el.muted (transport-owned). Ships unflagged
since it's a bugfix restoring parity.
Also relabels the eye as Mute/Muted on audio-only track rows (icon,
strikethrough label, undo-history copy), gated behind the new
audio-track-mute canary — the relabel is a copy/UX change, kept separate from
the behavior fix above.

* test(core): assert hidden-audio exclusion on the scheduling entry point, not the decode fallback
CI was red on `Test`, `Test: runtime contract` and `Tests on windows-latest` — all three on the
same two tests, both reporting `decodeAudioElement` called 0 times.
Not a bug in this branch. The tests pass on the branch tip and fail on the MERGE with main, which
is what CI actually builds. Main had moved 66 commits ahead, and #3322 ("make creator media edits
render-safe") added `WebAudioTransport.scheduleMediaElementPlayback`: media-element clips now route
straight through the Web Audio graph instead of being decoded into an AudioBuffer.
`decodeAudioElement` survives only as the fallback for the rate-shifted case
(`Math.abs(effectiveRate - 1) > 1e-9`), so on the ordinary path it is correctly never called:
void webAudio.scheduleMediaElementPlayback(...).then((scheduled) => {
if (scheduled || !clock.isPlaying()) return; // <- returns here now
...
void webAudio.decodeAudioElement(rawEl) // <- fallback only
Both tests used `decodeAudioElement` as a proxy for "this clip reached Web Audio scheduling",
which was accurate before #3322 and is not any more. Retargeted to
`scheduleMediaElementPlayback`, which is that signal now and takes the element as its first
argument, so the assertions keep their exact shape and meaning.
Confirmed by instrumenting the run rather than inferring: on the merged tree the scheduler is
called exactly once, with the audible element — the feature under test works, only the probe was
pointed at the wrong method.
Still non-vacuous: deleting the `rawEl.closest("[data-hidden]")` guard from
`scheduleWebAudioForActiveClips` fails the first test with "expected 1 times, but got 2 times", so
it genuinely catches a hidden clip being scheduled.
`init.test.ts` 77/77, and 1259 passed across packages/core `src/runtime` + `src/audio` on the
merged tree.

fix(core): play bounded WebAudio clips full-length at non-1x playback rate (#1494)
* fix(core): play bounded WebAudio clips full-length at non-1x playback rate startBoundedSource passed `clipDuration * rate` as start()'s duration arg, but that arg is buffer-content seconds while clipDuration is composition seconds. Media advances 1:1 with composition (the global rate scales the transport clock and the source playbackRate together), so the content to play is exactly clipDuration. Multiplying by rate truncated the clip at rate < 1 (audio cut out at the midpoint on half-speed playback) and overran it at rate > 1. Drop the multiply — playbackRate alone stretches the fixed content to the right wall time. Adds a half-speed regression test and corrects the prior test that asserted the rate-scaled (overrunning) bound. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(core): restore the mediaRate scaling on the WebAudio clip bound The bound this branch removed was correct. `start()`'s duration argument is buffer seconds, and an element with `data-playback-rate="2"` consumes two buffer seconds per composition second, so a `clipDuration`-second clip needs `clipDuration * mediaRate` of buffer. Wall time then works out as `(clipDuration * mediaRate) / (mediaRate * globalRate) = clipDuration / globalRate`, which is the transport duration that was wanted. Dropping the factor truncated authored 2x clips at their midpoint and overran authored 0.5x ones — and the sibling line still scaled `sourceElapsed` by mediaRate, so `remaining` mixed buffer with composition seconds and only landed right at mediaRate = 1. The branch's half-speed regression could not have caught this: it changed the GLOBAL rate on an element whose authored rate is 1, and the global rate cancels out (it scales the transport clock and the source's playbackRate together). Both formulas return 10 there, so the test passed before the change it was meant to justify. Replaced with the two cases that do discriminate — a clip authored at 2x and one at 0.5x, each asserting the buffer-second bound. Both fail if the factor is dropped again, as does the pre-existing authored-2x/global-0.5x contract test the removal was breaking. --------- Co-authored-by: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> |

fix(core): prevent symlink path traversal in htmlBundler safePath (F-005) (#1214)
* fix(core): prevent symlink path traversal in htmlBundler safePath (F-005) safePath used resolve() for containment checking, which is lexical and does not follow symlinks. A symlink placed inside the project directory pointing at a file outside it would pass the startsWith(normalizedBase) check and expose arbitrary on-disk content to the bundle. Add isSymlinkWithinProject(), which calls realpathSync() on both the candidate and the project root and re-verifies containment after symlinks are resolved. safePath calls it after the lexical check; safeReadFile gains an optional projectDir parameter that triggers the same check when handling @import-resolved CSS paths (the @import code path bypasses safePath and reads the file directly, so the check is applied there instead). Both attack vectors are covered by new vitest tests that plant a symlink inside the project dir pointing at a file in a sibling tmpdir. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(core): drop the redundant safeReadFile symlink guard, keep its regressions The branch's remaining production hunk called `isSymlinkWithinProject`, a helper that no longer exists: when four of the five original commits were cherry-picked to `main`, that helper was folded into `isSafePath`, which now canonicalizes both sides with `realpathSync`. So the leftover commit did not compile — `TS2304: Cannot find name 'isSymlinkWithinProject'` on Linux and Windows, with Test and regression failing downstream of the build. Swapping in `isSafePath(projectDir, filePath)` compiles, but measurably guards nothing: the sole caller that passes `projectDir` (`inlineCssFile`'s `@import` arm) runs `isSafePath(projectDir, resolved)` on the same path one line above, and both symlink regressions pass with the guard removed. A check no test can distinguish is weight, not defence, so the production delta goes and the tests stay — they now pin the `isSafePath` guard on both attack surfaces (`<link href>` through a symlink, and `@import` through one). --------- Co-authored-by: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> |

fix(core): keep authored gain above unity off el.volume in the sandbox bridge (#3349)
Authoring a clip above unity gain throws at runtime today. ## What breaks `MAX_AUDIO_GAIN_DB = 12` makes `data-volume` legal up to ~3.98. The sandbox runtime's volume bridge assigns the product straight to the element: ```ts el.volume = clipVolume * volume; // init.ts, onSetVolume ``` `HTMLMediaElement.volume` is spec-pinned to [0,1] and **throws `IndexSizeError`** outside it — verified in Chrome, and the test DOM agrees: ``` el.volume = 2 → IndexSizeError: Failed to set the 'volume' property... ``` The throw lands inside a `for` loop over every media element, so it takes the rest of the loop with it: every clip after the boosted one keeps whatever volume it already had, while `state.bridgeVolume` says the change was applied. A composition with one boosted clip stops responding to the volume control for every clip authored after it. ## The fix Clamp what the element receives. That is not lossy, because the element was never where the boost lived — the transport gets the authored gain unclamped, and this PR pins that half too: - `syncRuntimeMedia` hands `onElementVolume` both the element's clamped volume **and** the authored gain, so the transport can have the boost the element cannot hold. - `setElementVolume` keeps that gain on the per-element node, clamped only to `MAX_AUDIO_GAIN`. Those two paths already worked; they were untested, and they are the reason clamping the element is the right half to clamp. ## Tests - `init.test.ts` — a boosted clip followed by a quieter one, both seeded with sentinels, then the real `set-volume` control message. Asserts the boosted element lands at 1 **and** that the clip after it still gets its own volume, which is what a throw mid-loop strands. - `media.test.ts` — the transport receives the authored gain while the element stays legal. - `webAudioTransport.test.ts` — the per-element gain node keeps a boost above unity. All three mutation-checked: removing the clamp reds the first, and clamping the gain at either transport seam reds the others. ## Provenance This is the last unlanded piece of #3280. That PR was rebased onto current `main` and collapsed from +3050 to +944, of which everything except these lines is either already merged (#3308, #3309, #3333, #3339) or duplicated by the open #3306 and #3310. Cutting it out separately because the throw is live on `main` now and shouldn't wait behind a PR that is otherwise redundant. |

fix(studio): make the volume fader tell the truth about the gain it writes (#3305)
* fix(studio): make the volume fader tell the truth about the gain it writes The fader travels in dB, so its stops are irrational values; serializing them through the generic two-decimal numeric formatter collapsed the bottom quarter of its travel onto "0" — a hard mute — and made the knob jump on release everywhere below unity. Both panels now use the exact serializer, which round-trips every integer stop back to itself. Raise the volume automation lane to the same ceiling the fader reaches. Clamping the lane at unity meant automating a boosted clip silently discarded the boost, and the panel disables the fader while a lane owns the level, so there was no way back. This rescales the lane's vertical axis: unity now sits a quarter of the way up rather than at the top. Add audio_volume_tween_overrides_gain. Tween values on `volume` are absolute — they replace the authored gain rather than scaling it — so a clip carrying both plays at whatever the tween names, and the fader gives no sign of it. The rule reuses the tween detector the sibling lane/tween rule already has. * fix(lint): treat a missing data-volume as unity, not as silence readAttr returns null when the attribute is absent, and Number(null) is 0 — finite, and not 1 — so a clip carrying NO data-volume cleared both filters and was reported as authored at silence. Both halves of that were false: absent means unity everywhere else in the runtime. It fired on exactly the case the rule exists to bless. The docs this PR edits say data-volume is the baseline for elements no tween touches, so a tweened clip is expected not to carry one — the common audio fade. A warning does not fail check, but an agent reading the fixHint would have written a gain to correct a level that was never wrong. |

fix(producer): give inlined media a document-unique render id (#3342)
* fix(producer): give inlined media a document-unique render id
Element ids are unique per composition file, but the render document is
the inlined union of every file. The producer merged the per-file media
lists and deduplicated by id, so clips that shared an id collapsed into a
single entry, and every id-keyed stage (extract, inject, visibility,
bounds) resolved to whichever element came first in the document. The
surviving clip's frames landed on the wrong element and the visible scene
rendered without footage.
Two shapes hit this, and neither is author error:
- Two scenes that each declare `<video id="clip">`. Legal per file, and
unavoidable when a scene is duplicated into a copy with inner ids
kept, or when one file is mounted twice.
- Two scenes that each declare a bare `<video>`. The timing compiler
numbers auto-ids per file, so both arrive as `hf-video-0` with no
authored id involved at all.
Stamp a document-unique `data-hf-render-id` while inlining, and read the
media list off the inlined document instead of merging per-file lists.
The render id equals the element id whenever that id is already unique,
so documents without a collision keep identical pipeline keys.
Author `id` attributes are left alone: 158 of the 161 registry blocks
reference their own ids from `#id` CSS or getElementById, so renaming
would trade broken footage for broken styling. The engine resolves media
elements through the render id instead, falling back to getElementById
for documents the producer never compiled.
Collecting from the inlined document also retires the per-file media
extraction in parseSubCompositions along with its offset bookkeeping;
host offsets are recovered from the composition hosts the clip sits in.
* fix(core): resolve render-frame siblings by render id in the runtime
The injector creates each `__render_frame_<id>__` sibling from the media
element's render id, but four runtime readers still built that id from the
plain `el.id`. On a document where two compositions share a media id, all
of them resolved the first collider's frame.
colorGrading is the one that changes pixels: findRenderFrameImage returns
the image the grading pass samples, with no class check to catch the
mismatch, so the second video was graded from the first one's frame.
media, mediaProxy and video-texture-compat use it as a render-mode or
substitute-source signal, where both colliders happen to agree during
render, but none of them should rest on that.
Add renderFrameSibling as the single owner of "which frame belongs to
this element" and route all four through it. It reads the stamped render
id and falls back to the author id, so a collision-free document resolves
exactly as before and an uncompiled one (preview, snapshot, check) is
unchanged.
The engine's in-page bridge keeps its own copy of the rule because code
serialized into page.evaluate cannot import; it now names core as the
definition, and a test pins the sibling-id format both sides build so
they cannot drift apart silently.
* refactor(engine): build render-frame sibling ids from core's definition
The drift guard named both sides but pinned one. renderFrameSibling.test
asserts core's format, while the engine rebuilt the same id from a literal
template at six independent sites. Changing the format on either side left
the test green and every runtime reader silently unable to find its frame —
this PR's own failure mode, one level up.
Export the affixes and renderFrameIdForRenderId from core, and take the id
from there at all six. Four sites resolve it on the Node side, where the
engine can import; the two that iterate the DOM in-page receive the affixes
as evaluate arguments, which avoids depending on bridge install order.
Also switch two `__hfMediaId?.(el) ?? el.id` reads to `||`. The bridge
returns "" for an element with neither id, so `??` kept the empty string
and built `__render_frame___`, which no reader looks for. Inert today
because the compiler assigns positional ids to id-less timed media, but it
made the two sides disagree in the one case they could.

fix(audio): raise the authoring gain ceiling and carry it through the probes (#3333)
* fix(audio): raise the authoring gain ceiling and carry it through the probes Builds on #3328, which made the preview graph apply author gain and user volume exactly once each. That ownership is now correct but everything is still clamped to 1.0, so a clip authored above unity cannot be heard or rendered. `HTMLMediaElement.volume` is spec-clamped to [0,1], so both timeline probes lost a clip's authored gain the moment it also carried a fade: the probe seeded the element at the clamped value and every sample read back at or below 0 dB, and the mixer prefers probed keyframes over the static volume. Both probes now shadow the accessor for their own duration and forward the clamped value to the native setter, so the authored gain survives while nothing outside the probe ever sees an illegal volume. Measured on one 6 s composition, first 4 s: unity -32.8 LUFS, boosted-with-fade -32.8 before and -27.0 after — +5.8 dB, exactly the gain the clip was authored at. One ceiling, defined once in `audioGain.ts` and reachable from both sides: the render mixer imports it, and the page-serialized probe takes it as a parameter rather than re-literalling it. User volume stays spec-clamped — it is a fader, not a gain. Also holds the percent volume slider above unity in both property panels. That control tops out at 100%, so one touch would cap a boosted clip and drop up to 12 dB that now genuinely renders; the dB fader that can represent these levels replaces it in the next PR. * fix(audio): carry a static above-unity gain onto the preview gain node Review follow-up. `setElementVolume` receives the clip's author gain and clamped it to [0,1], so a static `data-volume` above unity was capped on the WebAudio preview path while the render honoured it — the exact preview/render divergence this ceiling exists to close. Automation lanes hid it: they schedule ramps onto the param directly and never pass through here. The master volume beside it stays spec-clamped, because a user fader is not a gain. Verified by mutation: restoring the [0,1] clamp reds the new case. Also scope the leveller's rationale to this rung — `VOLUME_RANGE` still stops at unity until the dB fader lands, so "both now span the same range" was premature — and say why the GSAP-tracking fallback is unity-capped: it reads back through `el.volume`, which the spec pins to [0,1], so it cannot observe an above-unity value however wide the clamp gets. * fix(audio): restore the live test files this branch overwrote, and uncap preview Review blocker: three files were wholesale copies from the abandoned #3304 branch laid over a two-day-newer base, so they silently reverted work that had landed in between. CI could not see it — deleted tests do not fail. - `audioMixer.test.ts` was byte-identical to #3304's head: 1186 lines against a base of 1353. Gone with it were the `data-playback-start` fallthrough cases from #3322 — merged 54 minutes before this branch's own merge base — and all retiming coverage (`playbackRate` 7 to 0, `atempo` 5 to 0), the strict literal-timing table, and the zero-window cases. - `mediaVolumeEnvelope.test.ts` dropped the trailing-garbage duration case and the plateau-retention case. - `packages/core/package.json` rolled the package version back 0.8.3 to 0.7.109. All three are restored from `main` with only this PR's additions re-applied on top, and the subpath export is regenerated by the repo's own script rather than hand-edited. Also closes the preview/render split the same review raised. Two clamps had to go, not one: `setElementVolume` capped the author gain at the transport, and the first-tick branch in `syncRuntimeMedia` trusted `el.volume` — which is spec-bound to [0,1] and so cannot represent a boost, opening a boosted clip at 0 dB for one tick before the steady-state branch took over. Both pinned by tests, both verified by mutation. |

feat(core): expose pretext text measurement on window.__hyperframes (#3302)
## What
Exposes the `pretext` text-measurement API on `window.__hyperframes`, so the API our agent-facing docs already describe actually exists.
Adds `pretext.prepare`, `.layout`, `.prepareWithSegments`, `.measureLineStats`, `.measureNaturalWidth`.
## Why
`skills/hyperframes-core/references/determinism-rules.md` is required reading for any agent authoring a composition. Line 59 tells them to call `window.__hyperframes.pretext.prepare(text, font)` then `pretext.layout(prepared, maxWidth, lineHeight)` for text measurement without a DOM reflow.
That object did not exist. The runtime exposed exactly `fitTextFontSize` and `getVariables`. Any composition following the documented recipe threw at runtime.
Deleting the doc line was the smaller change, but reflow-free measurement is genuinely the right tool for sizing text per frame, and `fitTextFontSize` is already built on it. Making the docs true is the better fix.
## How
- New `packages/core/src/text/pretext.ts` assembles the exposed surface in one place, with the include/exclude rationale next to it.
- `entry.ts` attaches it alongside the existing helpers. Sub-compositions inherit it for free: the scoping shim builds its scoped variant with `Object.assign({}, base, { getVariables })`, so anything added to the base object is carried through.
Two deliberate decisions:
**Wider than the doc named.** `layout()` returns only `{ lineCount, height }`. The doc's own "shrinkwrap containers" use case needs a width, which is impossible with just `prepare` + `layout`. `measureNaturalWidth` and `measureLineStats` make that claim achievable; `prepareWithSegments` is their required input.
**`clearCache` and `setLocale` withheld.** Both mutate state shared across compositions. Exposing them would let one composition change how a later one measures, making a render depend on what ran before it.
**Doc correction.** The reference called this "pure arithmetic, ~0.0002 ms per call". Not quite: `prepare` measures fonts through a canvas and throws outside a browser. Only the steps after a prepared string are arithmetic. Reworded, and documented the width helpers and the omissions.
## Trade-off
The runtime bundle grows **4,903 bytes (+1.30%)**, from 377,865 to 382,768. That ships inline in every composition. Measured by building the artifact with and without the change.
## Test plan
- [x] Unit tests added/updated
- [x] Manual testing performed
- [x] Documentation updated (if applicable)
`packages/core/src/text/pretext.test.ts` guards the shape of the published surface: the two documented names exist, the width helpers exist, and the two stateful functions are absent. Behaviour is deliberately not asserted there. `prepare` needs a canvas, and mocking it (as `fitTextFontSize.test.ts` must) would assert nothing real.
Real behaviour was verified by rendering a composition that calls the documented API:
```
lines=2 height=216 naturalWidth=1785
```
Self-consistent: natural width 1785 exceeds the 1600 container so it wraps to 2 lines, and 2 x 108 line-height is exactly the reported 216. The frame was inspected visually.
Also run:
- `packages/core` full suite from the package root: **903 passed, 46 files**
- `tsc --noEmit` and `tsc --noEmit -p tsconfig.runtime.json`: clean
- `oxlint` / `oxfmt`: clean
## Follow-ups (not in this PR)
An audit of the wider attribute surface found several more doc/runtime mismatches, including `data-gpu-mode` documented as an HTML attribute when it is a config field, and `data-no-timeline` being real, load-bearing, and absent from the table agents read. Those are separate changes.

docs(skills): fix anime.js v3 syntax in v4 adapter guidance (#3064)
* docs(skills): fix anime.js v3 syntax in v4 adapter guidance
The animejs adapter docs teach v3 syntax against a v4 build, so the examples
cannot run as written: every v4 bundle assigns a *namespace object* to the
global `anime`, making v3's `anime({ targets })` call form a TypeError. `easing:`
is now `ease:`, ease names lost their `ease` prefix, and `timeline.add()` takes
`(targets, parameters, position)`.
- Rewrite `skills/hyperframes-animation/adapters/animejs.md` for v4:
`anime.animate()` / `anime.createTimeline()`, `ease:` names, targets-first
`add()`, position shorthands, and a note that the producer fixtures pin
4.0.2 (`lib/`) while 4.1+ moved bundles to `dist/bundles/`.
- Fix the same v3 `anime.timeline({ targets })` snippet in
`skills/hyperframes-keyframes/references/keyframe-patterns.md`.
- Stop advertising `anime.running` auto-discovery as a safety net. No v4 build
exports `running` (checked 4.0.2 and 4.5.0), so `discover()` returns
immediately and any instance a composition forgets to push onto
`window.__hfAnime` is silently never seeked. Marked v3-only/inert in the
skill page and the adapter docstring; explicit registration is now stated
as mandatory.
- Add render-safety notes the page lacked: `createSeededRandom()` as the
deterministic replacement for `Math.random()`, and why
`autoplay: onScroll(...)`, `createDraggable`, and pointer-driven
`createAnimatable` cannot work under headless seek rendering.
- Regenerate skills-manifest.json.
Runtime behaviour is unchanged: the `packages/core` edit is comment-only, and
the seek path already works on v4 (registered instances expose
seek/pause/play). The now-dead `anime.running` branch in `discover()` is left
in place — it is guarded and try/caught, and removing it is a behaviour change
that belongs in its own PR.
* fix(core): align Anime.js globals with v4

feat(studio): fold a preset shut, and give each one its own title design (#3191)
* fix(studio): close the typecheck and fallow gaps wa-18b-reschedule opened useAutomationLanes.ts's write() assumed gesture-scoped coalescing and a preview-only commit that useDomEditAttributeCommits.ts never grew — backported that option support from its own later commit so the two sides of the API agree. The paste path and its tests were missing the box selection's v0/v1 bounds a sibling commit added to AutomationSelection. The FX panel's carve controls still edited the six mechanism numbers (maxCutDb, bands, intelligibilityBias) after carveProfile() collapsed authoring to one Strength knob, so those fields no longer existed on HfCarveSettings; UI now edits strength, and analyseCarveBands is called with carveProfile(strength). Also closes fallow's complexity, dead-code and duplication findings on this PR's diff: extracted automationLaneDragMath.ts (pure group/point-move math) and useAutomationRangeDrag.ts (the marquee-select gesture) out of useAutomationLaneGestures.ts, pulled a couple of render-loop ternaries and a resolver into named functions, dropped an export nothing outside its file used, and shared a step-simplifier between audioCarve's two envelope builders. The edge-stretch vs. box-select priority test in TimelineAutomationLane.test was still pinning the pre-box-select rule (edge wins over a point sitting on it) that a sibling commit deliberately reversed — a point inside the box is now selected content, so grabbing it drags the group instead. Updated the test to the shipped rule instead of the old one. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(core): cap the via conic's weight so an edge-clamped via point can't NaN A via point pulled out past the segment (viaX: 5, viaY: -3) clamps to (0.999, 0.001) — exactly on the steady region's edge, where edge - viaX is 0. viaConic divided by that zero to get an infinite weight, and shapeVia turned Infinity into NaN a few steps later (Infinity - Infinity in the quadratic coefficient). NaN reaching setValueCurveAtTime silences the automated parameter for the rest of the render. Capped the weight at 1e6 instead of leaving it unbounded — past that point the arc already reads as touching the via point, so nothing visible is lost. Also hardened shapeVia's existing denominator guard (`<= 0`) to `!(> 0)`, since NaN fails the original comparison and fell through it. Review by Miga (PR #3208). * fix(studio-server): fingerprint the proactive waveform cache key too The route already keys the waveform cache on the asset's size and mtime as well as its path, so a rebuilt-in-place file gets fresh peaks instead of stale ones. generateWaveformCache — the proactive path that runs on upload — still called buildWaveformCacheKey with the path alone, so it wrote to a different key than the route reads from (making the pre-generated cache never found) and kept the exact collision bug this fingerprint exists to fix on its own path. Review by Miga (PR #3211). * style(docs): run oxfmt on the /hyperframes-audio skill docs Table column widths had drifted out of alignment with oxfmt's own rules, failing format:check and blocking the Preflight gate every downstream branch inherits. Whitespace only, no content change. * fix(core): stop \b from missing underscore-separated names, guard clipsOverlap's negative duration \b treats `_` as a word character, so \bbed\b never matched bed_01, music_bed_loop, or theme_song, and \bvo\b/\bvox\b/\btts\b had the same gap — an underscore-separated bed classified as "unknown" and could end up offered as its own carve source. Replaced the short hints with a boundary that actually excludes letters and digits on both sides. clipsOverlap computed end = start + duration without guarding sign, so a negative duration put end before start — an interval that does not describe anything, and one specific case showed it silently dropping a real overlap (a shorter, earlier broken end rejected a clip that genuinely contained the point). Duration clamps to zero instead: a clip cannot un-play time, and a zero-length clip at its start is the sane reading of "duration nobody wrote down as positive." Review by Miga (PR #3212). * fix(studio): widen PropertyPanel's resetModules render timeout again The 20s margin (already once widened for the same reason) is timing out in CI's full-monorepo Test run — the resetModules()+fresh-import render this test needs is uncached and competes with every other package's test suite for the same worker pool, and the same test passes in well under 2s standalone. Went to 45s rather than re-tuning to whatever number happens to clear the current CI load, since that number moves every time CI gains a package. * fix(studio): stop the single-candidate auto-apply carve firing twice Two auto-apply effects both fire when sourceOptions.length === 1: the multi-candidate effect only guards length === 0, so a single candidate passes it too, and the single-candidate effect passes its own guard right after — both compute the same sources list and both call setCarve, so the common case (one narrator, one bed) triggered two decodes, two FFT runs, and two concurrent attribute writes for one decision. The multi-candidate effect now defers to its sibling for exactly one candidate, which already has its own detailed handling for that case. Review by Miga (PR #3213). * feat(core): carve against every voice over a bed, always (#3212) * feat(core): carve against every voice over a bed, always dynamically A bed usually runs under a whole sequence — a narrator, an interview answer, a second presenter — and carving against one of them left the others fighting it. `source` becomes `sources`, and `mixCarveSources` sums every voice onto the BED's clock before anything is measured. That is what keeps one analysis sufficient: the chain is fixed, so there is no per-voice filter to switch between, and bands drawn from all the speech there is with envelopes that rise wherever any of it happens answer the actual question — where and when is speech masking this bed. Summed rather than averaged: two people talking at once mask more than either alone. Audio before the bed starts is dropped rather than folded in at zero, since it plays over nothing and shifting it would put a cut where there is no voice. `dynamic` is gone. A fixed depth thins the bed through every pause, and once both have been heard there is no reason to want it, so every carve follows the speech. Two helpers the panel and the headless script now share instead of each carrying a copy — two definitions of "what does this name suggest" drift, and then the two disagree about which track is the voice: - `classifyAudioName` reads a track's kind from its id and filename together. `unknown` is deliberately common: treating an unrecognised name as "not a voice" would hide the one track somebody needs to pick. - `clipsOverlap` keeps out a voice that never plays while the bed does. An unwritten duration counts as unbounded, not zero — refusing a clip whose length the composition leaves to the media would drop the commonest case there is. Files written before this still load: a single `source` reads as a one-voice list, a stored `dynamic` is ignored, and an absent attribute means the defaults whole. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(core): stop \b from missing underscore-separated names, guard clipsOverlap's negative duration \b treats `_` as a word character, so \bbed\b never matched bed_01, music_bed_loop, or theme_song, and \bvo\b/\bvox\b/\btts\b had the same gap — an underscore-separated bed classified as "unknown" and could end up offered as its own carve source. Minimal port, not the multi-voice redesign that PR does properly: the "Listen to" picker and analyse() treat sources[0] as the one voice this UI still understands, and every dynamic-mode branch (the automated envelope lanes, the toggle, the checkbox) is gone along with the field — a carve is now always the static value the analysis computes, matching what the type change made permanent. Minimal port, not the multi-voice redesign that PR does properly: the "Listen to" picker and analyse() treat sources[0] as the one voice this UI still understands, and every dynamic-mode branch (the automated envelope lanes, the toggle, the checkbox) is gone along with the field — a carve is now always the static value the analysis computes, matching what the type change made permanent. feat: one knob for the five effects that cannot honestly have one (#3188)
Minimal port, not the multi-voice redesign that PR does properly: the "Listen to" picker and analyse() treat sources[0] as the one voice this UI still understands, and every dynamic-mode branch (the automated envelope lanes, the toggle, the checkbox) is gone along with the field — a carve is now always the static value the analysis computes, matching what the type change made permanent. fix(core): give the chorus and phaser LFOs a phase, and unwire them on dispose (#3183)
* fix(studio): drop the unused DomEditSelection import in PropertyPanelFlat CI caught it on PR #3026 (wa-12-panel-params); a later refactor in the stack removed the last use of the type here without removing the import. * fix(studio-server): fingerprint the proactive waveform cache key too The route already keys the waveform cache on the asset's size and mtime as well as its path, so a rebuilt-in-place file gets fresh peaks instead of stale ones. generateWaveformCache — the proactive path that runs on upload — still called buildWaveformCacheKey with the path alone, so it wrote to a different key than the route reads from (making the pre-generated cache never found) and kept the exact collision bug this fingerprint exists to fix on its own path. feat(core): the levelling script — "Even Out Levels" (#3180)
* fix(studio): pull TimelineLanes under the 600-line cap TimelineLanes.tsx hit 620 lines. Extracted the three per-clip pointer gestures (resize-start, pointer-down move-arm, click/razor-split) into createClipGestureHandlers — one factory call per rendered clip instead of ~120 lines of inline handler bodies in the render loop. 529 lines now. * fix(studio): split the extracted pointerdown handler under the CRAP threshold Moving the ~120-line gesture logic into timelineClipGestureHandlers.ts concentrated it into two functions fallow flagged (onPointerDown at CRAP 63.6, onResizeStart at 31.6). --------- Co-authored-by: Claude Opus 5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(studio): port the carve UI off the removed source/dynamic fields #3212 (accidentally squash-merged into this branch instead of main) changed HfCarveSettings from a single `source` + `dynamic` toggle to a `sources` list with dynamic mode removed outright — the multi-voice UI consumer that goes with that shape lands in the very next PR, so this branch was left with a type that no longer matched its own code. Test suite trimmed the same way: the automation-lane and toggle tests covered behavior that no longer exists. --------- Co-authored-by: Claude Opus 5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> |

feat(core): the audio FX preset catalogue, and applying one from the rack (#3177)
* fix(core): remove the build-audio-fx-runtime.ts stray resurrected by a main merge An earlier merge with main brought this deleted file back (git's merge/delete handling on an unchanged-on-one-side file); package.json already points at build-inline-artifact.ts, so it sat unreachable and duplicating that file's config, both of which fallow flagged. Split the decision logic (which gesture a pointerdown implies) into a pure resolvePointerDownAction, then split its own intent-blocking check into isIntentBlocked. onResizeStart's guard moved into canStartResize. Every function now scores under 30. * fix(studio): drop the unused DomEditSelection import in PropertyPanelFlat CI caught it on PR #3026 (wa-12-panel-params); a later refactor in the stack removed the last use of the type here without removing the import.
